    Great episode! Enjoyed discussion of emoji use, warmth versus competent, and tricks to use when someone is dropping signs they aren't fully listening. Thank you for this episode!

    As far as treating others the way they want to be treated... To me that is bondage. That is putting me in a prison cell. If someone has ridiculous "expectations" for me to meet, I am not going to treat them the way they really want to be treated. I will treat them with respect, love, and dignity, but also respecting myself and my own boundaries.

    This is an amazing topic. Thank you for sharing. I’m a medical interpreter and when we interpret on the phone is harder. It makes a huge different when we are looking at the patient and provider.

    Being Mexican and married to an English men, this was awesome!! 99% of our fights come from me being so very bad with words and him being so very bad with body language. We complete eachother but it's funny and exhausting too..😂

    One thing about the 'gazing around the room' thing is that we have a lot of people now, mostly veterans, who are still ingrained with the need to be vigilant about their surroundings.

    Our accents and dialects serve us; hamper us; and might even, in rare cases, lead to life-or-death consequences. Vanessa could address this subject in a future episode.

    Damn! Y’all just taught me as a High Open person how to talk to my Low Open husband! Also, as someone on the spectrum I can definitely use all the help with cues I can get. Can definitely relate to being called cold and upping my emoji/!!! use!!! (See what I did, there? 😉)

    Vanessa is amazing and I always learn from her. I have also grown out of a lot of things as I grow older. But as a High-Open person I LOVE and crave new adventures often.

    Okay, I think I may just be RUclips challenged. You frequently say "we'll link it in our show notes." Using RUclips on my phone, I have never been able to find those links. Anyone that can help me out here, I'd really appreciate it!
    BTW, I loved this episode!

    Just a suggestion. Maybe you could position the mic so that it doesn't block parts of everyone's faces. Yours is one of many I follow but only one where your and your guests faces are partially blocked. Good topic but this has become more noticeable to me.

    There's a character on the Miranda show who is often on her phone, and holds up her hand and says 'bear with' while she checks her messages. It's very annoying to all around her, but they do it.

    This Low-open and High-open thing has me thinking about whether these two things are age related. Or if it could be a socio-political issue. It just seems that conservatives would be the low open, by definition, and liberals are high-open. Any thoughts?

    • @anjelsedai
      @anjelsedai 2 года назад +1

      Welp… my husband and I are a couple years apart, and grew up in the same socio-economic circumstances, and are relatively close on the political spectrum. And he’s super low open while I am high. Clearly it’s our astrological signs that control this! 🤪

      I think anybody that falls into dogma thinking traps are low open people in general, regardless of background, age, or political affiliation.

    Well to be fair emojis were invented in Japan. These mimic the Japanese emotions also expressed in Anime. You do not see anime characters laughing with the skull mark at all. That is a western use of emojis. So to use them correctly technically.. yeah use them as intended to express emotion such as laughing and crying. Here some old school original emojis
    (n_n)/ (-_-) \(◉▽◉)/. (o_O)? these used to take so long to make hence the ones we have now are much better. Also note this is why you dont see the hug emoji, its not common cultural practice in Japan. This one 🙅🏼‍♀️ is not a hug. In Japan this means NO. It is meant to be a NO emoji.
