Chef Keoni shares how to make the perfect steak simply seasoned with Hawaiian salt, pepper, butter and herbs. Visit www.Foodland.com/steak for the full recipe.
I followed the same cooking instructions using a cast iron pan, oil and butter and same cooking temperature on the gas stove. When I added the butter and 1 minute later my whole kitchen was filled with white smoke from the kitchen and set my fire alarm on.
I didn't use any rosemary or thyme, or any other herb.... but, it was frickin' delicious with all of the butter that I used! I even pointed my knife towards the audience as I was eating it! :)))) Thanks for the video!
Tried your way with two rib eyes and they came out wonderful. My daughter was very impressed. I did add some garlic and sprigs of rosemary while it they were cooking. But the basting kept them moist
Woah, woah, woah, woah. There's still plenty of meat on that bone! Now you take this home, throw it in a pot, add some broth, a potato... Baby, you've got a stew going.
Beautiful steak. I've been using this technique for awhile my Grandma always fried steaks on high heat with a cast iron pan. I use the butter but never have tried the thyme. I always buy strips of ribeye & cut them at 11/2" thickness. Nice video thank you.
Cutting this steak allows it to cool too quickly. My opinion, one should never pre-cut a steak before serving. It is best cut the steak as it is consumed!
I tried cooking a steak like this and I was criticized saying why do i drown the steak? (turned out to be good though specially on cheap cuts), Time to show this video. Thanks Chef!
Interesting, I've never seen anyone begin basting the steak before both sides had been seared. I wonder if that makes any difference in the cook time or the final product? Great looking steak though!
i just cooked a sirloin steak using this method. i definitely recommend this way. my steak was a bit overdone but even so, probably my best steak yet. not using the grill to cook a steak anymore.
I Tired soooo many ways of cooking pan fried steak, including gordon's quick video guidelines, this guy definitely has the best way and instructions of cooking! Thumbs up man!
I was planning on grilling a couple of nice thick prime rib eyes tonight, but after watching this video I think get out the old cast iron pan and do this.
I've seen pretty much every steak vid out there on RUclips, and this is the best one. Why am I only seeing this on my feed just now? Awesome video and amazing looking steak. Not only do you guys get to live in paradise, but you get to eat steaks there that look like that. Unfair.
I personally omit the canola oil and just use extra butter but my method is otherwise the same. Some argue against using extra butter but I find delicious and it's not often I have steak.
I just got my first cast iron skillet and I seasoned it a few times. I plan on making a steak this weekend. I usually like medium, so I am wondering how many minutes per side you did for this steak? Also, I saw that sometimes people have seared the steak on both sides and then finished in the oven. Does that provide any advantage over your method?
Is there a certain height to hold your hand to salt and pepper the steak? Like what a 45 degree elbow bend with a twist of the fingers 2' from the steak? This has to be important right..
i have 3 argentinian seroian streaks can i try These have also the full plant of Rosmarin diferent sea salts and butters,i saw a similar recept where you end the steak with Rosmarin butter and garlic 8 minutes on oven after the pan.
if I go to a decent restaurant for a "beautiful T-Bone steak" you can be damn sure I want it left on the bone, look how much juice is left on the board, that's flavour too!
Seems like you're putting the butter in way too soon and it's burning.
Hello. You forgot to mention how large the flame we should cook it on and how much time per side? Thanks
I did this the first time tonight, that was the best steak cooked in a pan I ever had.
Everytime I cook it in my skillet in the kitchen, my whole house becomes a freaking smokehouse xD
That's my problem also so What is it that I'm doing wrong
Lol
4:53 you hear a stomach growl

No garlic why

Cutting this steak allows it to cool too quickly. My opinion, one should never pre-cut a steak before serving. It is best cut the steak as it is consumed!
