  • To solve any problem, we must first understand the situation and the more we can discern the causes, the more effectively we can identify a solution. Today's guest has raised and spent 20 million dollars seeking to know the cause for the decline of Christianity, specifically church attendance and open affiliation, in the West. Once discovered, he created a program that in only 3 years, across the entire city of Jacksonville, FL drove the divorce rate down by 24%. In addition, the city saw an increase of marital health, family stability, and church engagement. I am joined by J.P. De Gance to learn all about this study, his findings, and the changes that can occur with the work he is doing. We give a clear call to action to all listeners about what they can do to be a part of the solution and start to do their part to bring change to the culture for the better.

At age 75, and a Catholic convert back in 1970, I have come to believe that too many marriages were not true marriages - even Catholic marriages, so-called - from the very beginning at the altar of the wedding day. (By the way, my wife and I just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary). I write this because if you stand at the altar and mumble some words - what is supposed to be your Sacred Vow not only to each other but also to God - but you do not understand the sacred importance of those words, that vow, I very much question the validity of that "vow" and question if you walked away really married. Too many Catholics are poorly Cathecized, too many don't live the Catholic faith, too many go into their wedding day reserved in their minds "If this does not work out, I can just get a divorce." Too many are thinking to hurry up and get to the reception. Too many think marriage is all about the touchy-feely tingles and not something religious. Catholics, so-called. Who before the wedding, and after, will not frequent Mass. Candidates later for an annulment because contrary to the belief that too many annulments are being handed out, I am convinced many should have annulments. The past decades have been a disaster about so-called marriages.

I completely disagree with you. There are way too many annulments. If you intend permanence and to have children, that's about all that's needed for a marriage to be valid. Too many divorcesxand annulments are wrecking Catholic families and destroying the Faith of the children

We need more opportunities in the church for singles of all ages to meet and get married.
Also more things for singles 35 and up. As a 39 year old single man I'm really out of options of what to do. A lot of the groups that meet are either for married couples, old people or people under 35. I basically go to Mass and pray. While that's been great I want to meet other Catholics.
The church has followed the spirit of the age by hyper focusing on younger people. It's like being older has no value anymore.
A good initiative in my area was a singles event for people 30 to 50. I'd like to see something 25 to 40 or 40 to 60 or something of the sort.
Another thing is bad Catechism. I'm learning things I never knew before. There should be continuous education on church doctrine available for the Baptized provided through the churches.

There likely hasn't been success. Researchers are biased in these areas. The standards of success are often not representative of actual success, and fail to control for other variables that may have made the programs successful.
I've seen marriage initiatives increase the number of marriages, but the marriages end.
I've seen increase in youth participation in Church or other groups devolve into a social event and then fall apart.
I've seen outreach programs start to make huge inroads only to backfire resulting in worse conditions.
I've seen this inside and outside the Church.
The D.A.R.E. program of the 80s was a huge success, except it never was. They based the success on surveys of kids asking if they thought they would use drugs after the program. Oh and surveys of kids asking if they were using drugs...because kids never lie. Lol.

Has the apparent success in FL been replicated elsewhere? What about those two men cited in his story who were doing the "right" things but still abandoned their families? Went to the web page. In order to read their study, they ask for your phone number, mailing address, and email. I don't know these people. How well should they know me?
As to what is causing problems for the Church, the answer seems obvious; the Church is causing the problems. The leaders are corrupt.
The education of the young is woefully inadequate. In my own case, my first inkling of what is spoken of as the particular and universal judgments of God spoken of in the catechism was owing to my own efforts. If, at the time of my confirmation, the bishop had asked me detailed questions on those points, I would have had no answers.
That same bishop it was later revealed, concealed the criminal behavior of priests under his authority. He was, as is well known, not alone in this behavior.
The written materials used in my education seem to have been written by dim-witted children.
At one point in my education, a well-meaning instructor asked us, "Why did Jesus speak in parables?" I made reference to the thirteenth chapter of Matthew. Parallel accounts are to be found in the forth chapter of Mark, and the eighth chapter of Luke.
"11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them." Mark 4:11-12
An astounding passage... The instructor told me not to be sarcastic.

An improved economy during this period, and fewer military deployments during this time were also cited as possible reasons. He pointed out there are more than 500 clinical social workers and 360 marriage counselors doing the work in Duval in addition to more than 800 faith-based organizations, like Live the Life. It’s been implementing a church-focused program and an intensive weekend program in Jacksonville since 2016. “ But Our report definitely states we cannot state Live the Life is the reason for the divorce decline,” he said. “The fact is we do not have participant data.” why doesn't Live the life get a consensus for participation data? @@zeljkabozic5781 Agreed ever since Christ's Ascension we have been in the end times. That we think the current circumstances are an immediate precursor to Christ's return seems gigantic hubris and a lack of gratitude, as things could always be so much worse than they are now. And Indeed, it seems Sacred Scriptures confirm the Return of Christ will be after far worse circumstances than we now are in.
Yes, the main framework for those circumstances is in place in a way more firm than ever before it had been. But given overall people still have the awareness to realize how bad things have gotten it; seems the situation where the vast majority of hearts have grown cold (one of the main signal requirements for the second coming) has not occured as yet. And from a certain point of view the exact timing is responsive to how badly humanity as a whole acts; whether it be according to gospel standards or not.
If humanity turns away from falling further into the current trend of isolating and othering people the trend may plateau and people can turn further toward building a better relationship, not only between individuals but global society as a whole. One value every parent can instill in their children is having compassion for others and their disparate views while still holding true to the right moral standard Christ exemplified. We need for people to shed the attitude of "my way or the highway" and move forward with "Let's find a way to work together".
It will take real effort and sacrifice on everyone's part to make that happen. Keep using the sword of the Rosary and other prayers as even when our best arguments cannot change other's Hearts God still is able to reach them when our best efforts fail to produce fruit.

'Cause the High Priest of the church has turned away from God and went to embrace the pagan god, just like as when Christ came on this earth the Highest priests where against Him. So at end time period same kind and chastisement and persevution will be felt, cause its the deceptor will take advantage of the situation, only those faithful will received the Lord at His arrival. History repeats itself, God prophecies are True, if we adhere to God, we can Love Him but if fear man then no to God.

The Catholic church will never die. It's life is guaranteed by Christ Himself. Different levels of membership ... and the quality of the members can vary ... Original church members gathered in a personal home; privacy, close relationships, security. These days One priest may have over 1-2000 registered members [500 families]. Try to get close to that many people and you will wind up in a hospital. ... Let God decide your companions,. Stop disaster pulling the future ... The Lord is in charge of everything and has been since our universe was created. God is good ALL the time. ALL the time God is good. We live and work with Him ... or we die the death. 2X as well as having a miserable existence until it's time to go to hell for eternity. I like the heaven option AND a positive attitude towards God's management of things. Use the 'Surrender Prayer Novena' to keep oriented. Wife and I use it every day. We're glad we do.

The amount of religions that have said exactly this. 'Our religion can't die, because our god wouldn't let it die'. I'm sure Scandinavians thought this about Odin, and Greeks thought this about Zeus.

    • @michaelpcooksey5096
      @michaelpcooksey5096 4 месяца назад

OK, on the surface of what's been said so far that is a logical conclusion. What makes Christ different is that he is a real person. He said he was God 'I Am', and then proceeded to prove it with tons and tons of real miracles during his 3 years of public teaching; [over 41 specifically identified and witnessed + times where he simply cured everyone in the crowd who came to Him.] Then, there is His returning to life under His own power as God ... and the miracles in the church He founded [Now referred to as Catholicism ..] Just keep coming. Lourdes, Fatima, Guadalupe, Eucharistic miracles, Church of Pilar, saints with His stigmata like St. Padre Pio. Zeus never was real. Odin never was real. Christ is real and rules with solid evidence proving it ... but people still have the problem of not wanting anyone higher than themselves ... the god in the mirror. Tragic, but if truth can become the quest for a good mind ... He will eventually come to the fore. Then it's a matter of choosing to become what HE wants one to be ... instead of what our mortal enemies want us to be. [self and the devil]. @@CalebScott1991

43:38--This single statement distills the tone of every single Catholic men’s talk or men’s video into one line:
“The men are there…for what they want, unfortunately.” (paraphrased for clarity)
Not to take it as literally as the nightclub situation, but…the tone I get from every piece of media from Catholics directed at men has that same scolding tone. “Men MUST, men HAVE TO, men SHOULD…” Nag nag nag. Always nagging. Nagging Catholics. Catholic RUclips already makes practicing the faith sound like an exhausting Sisyphean task, and they never fail to rag on the men for ever wanting to do something outside the overscheduled flight plan. God forbid men do something *fun* for once, for just themselves, once the daily obligations and chores are done.
The pattern I’ve seen over the years is Catholic media attempts to turn men into docile, obedient, beaten dogs by nagging and berating their wishes and desires into the dust, and it builds women and their expectations up into a pillar Yurtle the turtle would be afraid to sit atop. This seems to be done primarily through lecturing both sexes, which tends to be boring, and at the worst repellent for any man who has some sense of free will. (This is why I usually avoid this content, today is an extraordinary exception.) Both the method of transmission and the content strike me as contrary to your aim, which in a broad sense I agree with, that Catholicism and Western Civilization (i.e. the European, Anglo-Saxon, and Scandinavian peoples survive and thrive) is the optimal outcome for this mortal world. In most specific cases, however, Catholic media is in my opinion nearly a universal loss, if your interest is engaging men.
Briefly consider that the secular world is not a safe place for men either. You correctly recognize the secular impulse of consumerism is a threat; consider how the secular (and religious!) world considers a woman’s emotions objective truth, how an accusation of r@p3 against a man is automatically considered valid now and forever, and even if untrue completely ruins a man’s life. Consider the ruthless destruction of male-exclusive spaces by every force in society from the 20th century onward. Consider how men are told by both the secular and religious worlds to give everything they have, and expect nothing in return. There really is no safe space for men any more, besides a quiet campground gathering temporarily out of reach and earshot of politicians, activists, women, and priests.
Do I have any solutions? Yes, I do. Try HAVING FUN for fun’s sake. DO something INTERESTING. Men are human DOINGS, try DOING something instead of posting the billionth RUclips lecture. My off-the-cuff idea for parish activities? Alternate between something FUN (hiking, a Halo LAN party, visiting a rifle range, visiting a museum) and learning the basics on something practical and attractive to men (how to smoke a brisket, how to solder, how to clean a firearm, how to dance swing or waltz).
Men and their interests and desires already get treated as bad dogs nearly universally. For the sake of the West, I beg you to try something different from the nag and lecture approach. Try listening to men. That is all.
*edited because I somehow missed the 8 digit at the beginning.

I love my Islamic friends, my Catholic family, and atheist friends. The one common thread is their internal working principles.
No one alive will meet Jesus. In this world there is only one thing that is perfect and remains perfect for all time: Algorithms.
Once a Algorithm is created it will work forever and never decay. Its the only man made thing that does this.
So what is it that Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha and others have given us? They gave us Principles. Their lives are the reflection of those
Principles. I have one goal in life. I want to look into God's eyes and not be afraid because when he peers into my soul he will only see
    the principles he is.

When Christianity strays from the pure spiritual teaching of Master Jesus and gets dragged down to politics, school board involvement, you lose the essence of what being a Christian is
A big problem is the Pure teachings that Jesus shared with his thousands of disciples is somewhat buried in the gospel.
A good example is when Jesus said throw the moneylenders out of the temple he was saying the human body is the temple of the living God and the moneylenders are the 5 deadly passions. Lust, anger, ego, envy, jealousy.

    • @01swainco

@dale2156 there is such a potential for spiritual growth from both ends of the christian equation. The poor lost soul buried in pain and suffering, heavy karma, seemingly in a hopeless situation. And an enlightened pastor or priest who understands the true nature of who Jesus was, what his mission and teachings were. There is potential benefit to both.

(sorry this is from memory) I guess I am trying to say that the churches I have attended the pastors are building their treasure here on Earth, they are not grounded in the spiritual foundation of Jesus' teachings, and the message gets diluted and doesn't resonate. There are many thousands of good people doing selfless service and really helping lost souls. But there alot building financial institutions, and the pure spiritual basis of Master Jesus is lost. I wish you the best, may your journey lead you to Eternal Truth.

    • @01swainco
      @01swainco 10 месяцев назад

@@sgabig the physical universe is a completely masterfull creation by the ultimate physicist, mathametician
      The Lord
What's the 1st thing in the Bible? Everything that was created, was entirely created by the Lord
That means every tiny cosmic sub atomic particle to the expanding physical universe: quasars, galaxies, black holes
      Everything
Why when it comes to the evolution of the Soul, do we throw all that away and come up with nonsense and superstition?
Do you remember in high school science class up in the front of the room the Electromagnetic Spectrum?
From very low energy radio waves, building in power and energy up to gamma, incredibly short frequency? And it just stops?
It continues higher and higher but it's not the material universe, it's the inner regions of powerful sound and light, layers of heavens each more radiant and powerful,
Jesus said, " in my Father's house are many mansions!". Of course he spoke in Aramaic, many years later written in ancient Greek, copied over and over and eventually put into Latin
So of course you have to pull the truth out. Fact is Master Jesus was a very powerful Spiritual Master whose teachings were 100 percent in line with the essence of Gods Creation, and at the heart of it, the Holy Ghost, which is an Actual thing, a door and a path, a high energy highway onwards and upwards. It's the path your Soul entered into the fetus in the womb, and when you get older and start to withdraw from the world a ringing, humming sound I'm your head that you will ignore and complain about tinitis!
If you sit quiet, you will hear the actual voice of the Lord inside of you, and it will never leave, you will never be alone
Now you will argue and stick to your preconceptions, which is ok. You will experience this guaranteed if you live a full life.
Any religion that is not 100 percent in line with the reality of the Creation, is off the true path. Jesus had thousands of disciples he taught his spiritual science to, how else did anything survive 200 years of persecution and murder and every attempt to stamp it out? The truth you seek is out there, Seek and Ye Shall Find.
      I wish you the best.
