- Welcome back all. To those who are new here , welcome.. you have a Long journey to catch up on where we are now… to those who have been here, it’s business as usual.
We have a few key topics here on this episode… listen, learn and give me your outlook and your opinions. That’s why we are here , to have a conversation. Nothing is one sided unless is written in the manuals. Otherwise, feel free to express your opinion in a constructive and respectful manner.
Thank you all for watching.
Sincerely yours… Stig 🤙

Stig - thank you for keeping us all safe and thank you for the videos! Lunch on me, brother.
Kevin I can’t express to you how much I appreciate your kindness and your generosity. You did not need to do that. I’m here simply for you and to all my viewers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness. You definitely got me smiling and you definitely got me plenty of coffee. Thank you so much Kevin
Very cool Kevin. Thanks from all of us.
Wow. How wonderfully generous of you!
Very kind of you, and Stig deserves that. Thanks Kevin!
@@MyTopTalent he certainly does. Stig never disappoints!
Thank you Stig for all the education you provide! You are a true asset to the aviation community!
On another note, I see you are dangerously close to hitting 100K subscribers. Congratulations in advance! However, if there is anyone who deserves a million subscribers it is you Stig! Well done!
@@jonbradshaw3385 thank you so much Jon. I truly appreciate you and your kindness.
Stig, I'm not one for commenting but I want to say thankyou for the time, effort and quality that you put into your channel. I have spent the last Year at home learning to walk again after a serious spinal injury and your channel and its content makes life a wee bit more bearable . All the best and thanks for an amazing channel.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity Steven. I wish you a fast recovery and I know you are strong and will be up and walking in no time. Thank you for being here, I appreciate you.
Stig! I’ve pulled way back on social media and other online content these days, but your RUclips channel is one of few things I keep coming back to. Just had to drop by and say think you. In particular, I love…
1) …your positivity and enthusiasm. It’s infectious. If I were a young person I would seriously think about being an airline mechanic after watching you! As it is, it inspires me to bring that same kind of joy to my own work.
2) ….that your videos are SLOW, and I mean that in the best way. We’re surrounded by so much short-form click-bait anymore and it’s such a breath of fresh air that you give things the space they deserve to play out without any gimmicks. I’ll watch one of your break-riding sessions over a hundred short-form videos any day.
3) …that you don’t self-promote; you don’t even give your name or show your face. Your videos are just about the work and the airplanes that you love.
You’re a good one, Stig. Thanks so much for sharing your talent and joy with the rest of us.
Well Jackson, you have simply made my day. Forgive me for responding so late, I just got off of my shift and reading this now. But I just want to express to you my gratitude. I know not many people enjoy to comment but to the few such as you who seldom do comment, you always say something very meaningful that touches me very deep. And you are right, you said everything correctly, and I am simply doing what I love and sharing it with you and everyone else. I wanted to express my deepest thank you because you took the time to write something so incredible and on top of that you took a time to watch and enjoy the video. Not a lot of people do that, but you did and into that I’m always thankful, because you simply enjoy the simple things in life much like I do.
Congrats on your 100K subscriptions. Thanks for the segment with the firefighters from Mexico. Their help and generosity is important to acknowledge.
Thank you so much, it’s an incredible milestone. Also yes a big thank you to Mexico and I also forgot to mention our friends from Canada sent a lot of help with firefighting aircraft
1:12 LOL you did NOT deserve that haha you just gave it some love with the heart in the wheel well!!
I know right 🤣🤣🤣
Stig a you’re an excellent storyteller!! You are so loved by your viewers because you are you - all genuine, no artificial flavors added 👍👍👍
Thank you for the kind words. That means a lot to me
@@MyTopTalent There’s a group of MIA pilots that watch Stig for that very reason. Also, a nice “behind the scenes” look. In fact, I stow my tray gently now when I learned, from Stig, that it cost $11k to replace as it’s an assembly tied to the rudder peddles. No more shoving in and out.
I’ve met many of the incredible pilots out of Miami. What a great group of people
Another episode of stig shift before bed time. One of my favourite things to do. Thank you so much Stig. Greetings from Germany❤
My pleasure! Thank you so much for watching
I’m on my 2nd week in broward college aircraft mechanic program and I’m absolutely loving it thank you so much for channeling me into this career
Should’ve came to baker lol but seriously good luck on your journey man
@vincentmiller expensive😂😂 but thx
Keep up the good studies and keep up the positive attitude. You’re gonna do fantastic

I want to thank you Stig for your dedication to your fans, even though it’s not what I’m pursuing, I learn something new every time I watch your videos. you deserve that break! enjoy it!
I really appreciate your kind words! And thank you for enjoying the adventures with me
Hey, 100K Subscribers! You deserve that, my friend. Congratulations, Stig!!
Thank you so much, it’s an incredible milestone. I’m very happy
Stig, you’re very wise to avoid burnout and guard your work life balance. So smart you took days off when feeling the need for it. Thank god I also guard this balance - keeps you happy, energized and healthy (mentally and physically)👍
Balance is key to happiness. Everything in moderation 👌
Stig, thanks for sticking to facts and rationale, especially about recent accidents. This way I understand more about aviation ((and life)) after every Stig shift 😊
Thank you so much for the kind words! I always try to keep it factual and clear so we can all learn together.
As usual, Stig never disappoints!!😂
I ended my New Zealand aviation chapter today with my final flight in an a AT-6 Harvard, Texan to those in the US. After 11 years of supporting the NZ Warbirds Association, today was my final day and final flight due to moving overseas.
My next chapter is square in my sights for both career and voluntarily.
Sounds like you had a heck of an adventure. I’m sure you enjoyed it
I woke up in the middle of the night and to my surprise: Stig has uploaded a 50-min vid. Thanks a bunch, Stig!
I’m glad you enjoyed it Joshua, thank you so much for watching
It's very close Mr. Stig, very close to 100K subscribers. It's good to see more people arriving.
I'm very grateful for each and every one of you
@@StigAviationI am also grateful to have met you and your channel and I am grateful to you and your fellow mechanics for keeping these great birds running smoothly and safely, even though I don't know you personally, but who knows, maybe one day we will see each other. ❤❤
We sincerely appreciate your insightful and entertaining videos, Stig. Your dedication to passenger safety is evident in your hard work, and we value your contributions. Enjoy your time off, and we eagerly anticipate your next video.
Thank you for your kind words. I’m glad you enjoy the videos.
We’re almost @100K subscribers…. LETSSSS GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
We almost there 🤙
We are all so excited to see Stig this close to 100k. We are all learning so

The live stream was awesome today thanks Stig!
Thank you for being there. It was fun
There is still goodness in this world. Thsnk you stig
Thank you Michael
And Stig, you fill my heart 💜with happiness, because the video's that you make, are just so educational and lovely. I love the story telling that you do, because its clear how much you love the industry, and your heart speaks volumes. You gave us a few new in depth's on this episode. BTW, I spotted those dry rot cracks in those tires, I'm sure they will be replaced soon. And those brave fire fighters who risk their lives to save others, they do amazing work, and work in harsh conditions. My heart is out to them as well. Thank you Stig!
Thank you so much for your kind words. Always glad to see your comment
Heck yeah man. Another stig shift. You are less then 1k away from 100k subs. I'm here for it can't wait
It’s gonna be a fantastic day, thank you so much my friend
Hi Stig, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!

Almost at 100K Stig! I think i was #199! Love to watch the evolution of the channel and wish you much success.
@@davidcohen6426 thank you so much David , great feeling that we have such a wonderful community here.
When you said drop the gear door, I thought you were going to check the air pressure on the spare tire. 😂😂
🤣🤣 no that would’ve been hilarious, but interestingly enough major cargo carriers actually do keep a spare in the bulk cargo pit.
Thanks, Stig for your aviation education to teach us yahoos what's happening when we fly somewhere.
It is a pleasure and an honor to give you the information and show you how these beautiful aircraft work.
Thank you Stig for everything you do! From working long hours during the holidays, for keeping the planes safe but everybody safe! ❤ hope you can enjoyed your vacation! Enjoy it to the fullest! Safe travels 😊
Thank you for your support. I'll be sure to enjoy my vacation and I'll be back soon!
Thanks Stig for another Stig Shift. It is so curious about the loss of information from the Korean flight should be interesting as we hear more information.✈️
I’m curious about this too. We will see. Thanks for watching!
Great inspirational words of advice at the end Stig.
Enjoy your time off and thank you for continuing to bring us some of the best aviation content on RUclips.
Thank you so much my friend, I appreciate that and I definitely got some good rest. But now it’s time to get back to work
You sound tired my friend. Enjoy your well deserved relaxation time.
Looking forward to the next video from a fully recharged Stig.
You're powered by something far more powerful than Lithium batteries or nuclear power.
You're powered by pure passion and enthusiasm for your job, and it is reflected in all of your videos.
Maybe throw in a bit of caffeine and Jet A1 to kickstart your days.
Much love from Australia brother.
Enjoy your time off!
You are so right on that, I was tired. I hope it did not reflect negatively within the video, but I did get some well needed rest. Thank you so much for your kind words and thank you so much for being here
Stiiiiiig! Good morning (or evening). Another shift, another nerd out session on all things maintenance; love to see it!
Thanks for being here and enjoy the show!
Another AMAZING video! Thank you for showing the APU again!
It’s kinda weird about that FDR /CVR failed 4 minutes before collision…
LMAO, that PTU made me jump as I had the volume cranked for the sweet sounds… Have a great week, and I send my love to everyone involved in the fires, breaks my heart.
Thank you so much and I’m very happy you enjoyed it.
Gooooooooooood morning STIG, hope your well my friend, seriously enjoying the uploads, much appreciated and keep it up 💙🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽💙
Thank you so much, I appreciate you being here and enjoying the adventures
I just wanted to say I enough your videos. I just passed my general written and I am now starting airframe. Your videos always give me something to look forward to when I graduate because like most people that have gone through school, they know it can get boring sometimes.
Absolutely fantastic, keep up the good work and the good studies. Keep me updated with your journey.
Nice one on Airbus doing the wiring of the fuel tank on the outside.
Smart design 👌
Stig, appreciate your dedication to your chosen field... a job well done. I follow a channel - Flight Focus 365, its arrivals and departures at Heathrow, (no talking) live everyday - London 6 hrs ahead of me, catch it early morning - every American arrival from L.A. Ithink to myself "that's Stig's bird arriving safely" enjoyed Stig Shift #56.
Thank you so much and I’m very happy to hear that my airplanes are arriving safe and sound.
Love from Australia always Stig, you keep me going more than you know. Thanks for being here and being you. Aviation is the most special. Enjoy your rest - you deserve it 💕

Stig, the measure of a Good man is his "Give a shit" factor and willingness to care. You are a good man and a great mechanic! Keep on keeping on!!!
I’ll keep doing my best my friend, no one has ever called me a good man, but I strive to be one. I think I’ll find out when I meet my maker.

Hey Stig Advance Congratulations 🎊 to you on 100k subscriber. Cannot wait for special episode on 100k subscribers. Love from Pakistan, Love From Technician in PIA
Thank you so much my friend I really appreciate that
I hadn't seen an NG with what looked like the -max wingtips. So I looked into it. Apparently some late NGs were fitted with the 'split scimitar' winglets, and United was the first, like with this -924ER. Her tail feathers were a-flappin'. 😆
Thanks again Stig. Hope you and your family weren't affected too badly by the fires.
Yes you are correct some of the -900 have that feature with the split scimitar. I think it looks beautiful
Awesome!! Just arrived home and Stigs video comes on!! I always know that hearing “Good Morning everybody” from Stig and seeing the coffee in hand! Will be great way to end a long day at work!! ✈️ Time to enjoy learning something new! 😊
Thank you so much and I hope you enjoyed it
@@StigAviation always do! I always catch something on the videos I didn’t in the stories.
My son and i watch these vids together almost everyday, Thanks Stig.
I’m so happy that you and your son can enjoy the video and spend time together. Thank you so much guys.
Stig, something I really have started to enjoy about your videos is the discussion of current events in aviation and getting the perspective of an industry expert such as yourself. Thanks for the vid! Have a great week!
I’m glad I can get you a fresh look on what they talk about and news media. Thank you so much for watching
Stig; thank you so very much for everything you do and your in-depth insight into your profession. Your words, wisdom and and thought provoking opinions are complete, concise and full of kindness and optimism. The latter two being more of what we need. Thank you so much for showing the Mexican firefighters. I’ve mentioned before that I was a firefighter for 20 years. Wild land firefighting - fire storm firefighting - is a world away from what I knew. I appreciate every bit of ‘plane’ old stuff you share every week. And Zeto is awesome. Thank you for suggesting him. Take care, be safe and rub those kitty cat tummies from me.
Thank you so much Joanie. I always appreciate you being here and always appreciate your kind words
I loved seeing the firefighters from Mexico helping fight the terrible fires there. Neighbors may talk a lot of trash and joke about each other, but when help is needed, you know they are going to be there for help.
As I said people helping people in desperate needs. I’m glad they were there as well as our Canadian brothers and sisters that provided us with firefighting aircraft
Great content Stig. Always looking forward to your videos. A blessing.
Thank you so much
You are so right Stig this fire disaster brings out the best in humanity despite what we hear in the news. It’s absolutely beautiful to see ppl coming to help Southern California. That fire and smoke plumes are massive.
I also forgot to give a big thank you to the Canadiens, they’ve been sending their aircraft to put out the fires here.
That’s right Canada has fire fighting aircraft and always help out during our year round California fire season.
You’re so right about being willing to give to work in aviation a lot of sacrifices made but they are so worth it!
It's a life-changing experience, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
23:35 and 28:23 As a (medically) retired volunteer fire-fighter of 40+ years in NSW Rural Fire Service, and former job-wise, in Government fire research lab, my heart goes out to all in California. Well done Mexico.
Thank you so much for your volunteer firefighting and expertise. And think Mexico as well as Canada for all their efforts to help California
@StigAviation thank you Stig! My proudest development is called a fire truck "halo" spray protection system that drenches the cab of fire trucks to protect crews. It has sprays over the tyres and so on. Water use about 10 litres a minute. Has saved a significant number of crews back in the 2019-2020 fires in Aus
Thanks for your sacrifice being apart of the aviation industry your content is really eye opening man. I hope you get some good rest on your time off. Great to see Mexico sending in reinforcements to battle those Fires. Keep up the awesome content Brother Greetings from Auckland New Zealand.
Appreciate it man. Those fires were really bad. Thanks to the amazing firefighters and their efforts. Cheers to you from Los Angeles
Another great video STIG! as always. I have one of those seat backs with the short red piece on the head rest. AA must have done a interior update on either a 319 or 321 as the manufacture tag reads its for either one and date is 2016. Still has the protective film on the monitor. Its on display with my AA 319 (N93003 nose number 003 I think) with a safety card American Way magazine and air sick bag, lol. Stay safe out there either working or not and hopefully those Mexican FF can help contain those nasty fires. CHEERS!
That’s actually a really cool that you have that. Definitely hold onto it it’s good memorabilia.
Hello there stig I hope you're doing awesome. Hey nice on seeing the big airbus a380s thanks for showing have a good day friend
Thank you so much Frank, I’m glad you enjoyed it
Yo Stig, thanks for posting a great video. We maintenance personnel need also maintenance! Enjoy your time off.
Appreciate it! It's nice to get some rest
Crazy to think that a 777 engine has about the same diameter as the fuselage of some smaller airliners. First I couldn't believe it but then looked it up. 🤨 You work with some very cool machines sir, thanks for keeping us safe!
It’s absolutely incredible standing next to one of those engines. They are humongous.
Hey stig! Thanks for your videos, greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷❤
Thanks for watching and greetings back at you!
Hi Stig i hope you're well, it's the most important. Enjoy yours days off. Take care of you.
Thank you so much Arturo, definitely getting some good rest
It seems those FDR’s are quite AC/DC
Love the content, and the airplane bloopers.
Glad you enjoyed it 🤙
The video of i look forward to the most every week, fantastic as always and thanks for the Jeju insight into the black boxes
Thank you so much for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it
Of all the ASMR categories on RUclips, I never thought aircraft maintenance would be one. But here we are 👌😊👍
I never thought of it that way, but I see your point. I’m glad you’re enjoying it.
Man, I love your close ups of the engines turning while approaching the gate.
I’m very happy you enjoyed it, I also enjoyed the mesmerizing engines as they pull up to the gate
What fascinating is the agility and flexibility and extensive knowledge you've got. Stig can move from checking and/or fixing 737MAX to A320 to 787. Wow.
It gets quite interesting as well as convoluted when you’re jumping from one fleet type to another. You have to kind of re-organize your thought process. But it’s a lot of fun.
Loved the video as always. Enjoy your time off, you deserve it!
Thank you! Will do!
10 out 10 stig such true words said as a fellow engineer 👍
Thank you Paul 👍
Stay safe over there Stig! Always fantastic and educational content. Have a good weekend!
Much appreciated
Awesome video those elevators on the United plane we’re dancing around
That airplane wants to fly, especially with that much power behind it
I love your videos so glad I finally found a content creator I truly enjoyed 😊
Thank you very much Bentley
26:30 She really wants to fly! 😅😊 And FOD alert!
Absolutely incredible amount of power that the airplane is putting out right there.
Hi The Stig you legend, thanks for another awesome video. I was at the Qantas jet base in Sydney a few years ago and got to watch a United 747 do high power runs to check for vibration, what a happy day. Sooo love that the Dreamliner is named ‘the plastic princess’ after the Queen of the skies.
Isn’t it amazing to listen to the high power run, those engines are so powerful
thanks stig for keep us safe and happy
My pleasure 👍
Top notch A&P doing his job!!! ....Thanks AECU...Very positive
Thank you very much Allan
THANK YOU for all your effort to inform us of aircraft operations and issues. You are so much valued
Thank you so much and I appreciate you being here and watching
44:00 ah the sound of a Leap-1A starting up, Would love to hear one of your NGs start, one of the things i loved whenever one of our main airlines SAS still had 737's before the swicthed to the 320's was that sweet sound of CFM-56 goodness startin up. Only Norwegian operates 737's and 737 Maxes as far as im aware here in Norway besides from maybe some international carriers. Love all your work stig! thanks for keepin us all safe
It’s definitely a beautiful sound. I’ll try to capture it on a future videos.
Thank you so much for your reply to my question regarding the fuel system Stig, your videos never disappoint!
I'm glad I could help, keep the questions coming!
Amazing video! Love watching your videos with informative descriptions 🤙🏽
Thank you for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Love the detail explanation of all the planes system! It definitely sus with the Korean flight, they are trying to cover up something for sure
It’s gonna be quite interesting when they actually find out what happened. We will have to hurry up and wait
Nice to see SWA is not the only airline with a ❤!
We gotta spread the love and show some love to our airplanes
Always a joy to watch these videos.
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
First! Always love a new Stig "shoft" episode! Your content never fails to make my day. of course until it ends then i have no idea what to do 😂
The shoft 😂 🤦🏻♂️ ya I fixed it.
Thank you for sharing the arrival of the Mexican fire fighters. Our southern neighbors get a lot of grief, some deserved, some not they've helped the US many times over the years most notably after Hurricane Katrina. The Mexican Army and Navy carried out numerous SAR missions and helped the US military distribute aide all along the Gulf coast.
Enjoy your time off. Working retail I know how bonkers the holidays are.
They have done incredible work to help the fires and many other disasters in the USA. I also have to thank our Canadian friends for sending over their firefighting aircraft.
I was going to mention the Canadian air tankers too but forgot.
Good Morning Stig…I know that when aircraft fly through volcanic clouds it can seriously screw up the engines ( the infamous British Airways “glider” springs to mind) but with the horrible fires you’re having in the LA area will engineers be paying special attention to engines and air filtration in the aircraft if there’s that much particulate matter in the air ? …..great videos as always my friend. Thoughts & prayers to all the firefighters & emergency services.
Volcanic ash is very dangerous to the aircraft and to the engines. Especially if the aircraft is flying through the clouds, in this particular scenario the fires did produce Ash, but it’s not volcanic ash so the aircraft are not affected and also the aircraft are not flying through it.
Ending with the queen, gotta love it!
The one and only, that airplane is so beautiful
Nice shot of KMIA at the end. Hope you enjoy your time off!
I most definitely did, I needed a good rest.
Love your Video.Greetings from an MRO mechanic from Lufthansa Technic

I appreciate that!
Great video Stig! Thank you for taking us all along on this adventure!
I appreciate you coming along for the adventure
@ ☺️ it’s always an adventure to see so many beauties!
I must say I love your channel. I love aeroplanes and engineering so your channel is perfect, also a cat lover. I'm from the UK and just came back from a trip to Louisville KY via Dallas. Went on a AA A319 from Dallas to Louisville. Which I know so much about thanks to you. Also the otherway a CRJ900. Which I loved. Haven't seen you mention anything about that plane. But reminds me of a MD-90 that I went on in 1994 with SAS uk to Denmark. Also flew on the A380 my favourite plane and got to sit in the captains chair.
The reason I don’t mention anything about the regional aircraft is because I don’t work on them, I am a main line airline employee, regional aircraft or maintained by different technicians
Oh ok, ❤ your channel
Good video as always!
Thanks for watching!
Yet another Stig shift we always appreciate it ❤
Thank you so much Alex, I’m glad you enjoyed it
Another amazing video as always stig. I appreciate watching these more than you’ll ever know. Stressful days I love to just melt away watching your long form videos, and learning about an amazing industry. Thanks for working your butt off for the safety of us, but also to let us have a sneak peek into the job you get to do.
I'm glad you enjoy the videos! It's awesome to know I can contribute in some small way to your day.
Always something to learn from your videos. Thanks for sharing. Stay Safe.
I’m glad you find them helpful. Stay safe as well!
Did you see the Canadian CL215s?
Damn that’s a big tire pressure meter 😂. I love it!
Pretty cool stuff 👍
I made a mistake, the fire fighting planes from Quebec are 415.
The chief pilot was on the radio this morning, his main point is that working in such a congested airspace was a challenge compared to what he is used to up north where they are pretty much alone.
That first nose gear door number, that’s a good laughable moment, as far as having OCD? Consider it a blessing Stig, it’s what makes you a great maint. tech
That was quite comical with the nose gear door numbers. And thank you so much
