Hey Niko its your Cousin lets go bowling. If Roman dies then your stuck with a love interest and you can't get married and you fell bad for Mallory. If Kate dies Niko loses his love interest but Mallory does not lose her husband. And you still can go bowling with Roman 😀
Truly a mind blowing game. I'm currently replaying it right now, and playing it at a much older age, it's made me realize a lot of things. A lot of us argue whether there's a true ending, and obviously, I don't think we'll find out ever. Of course, there's the easter eggs left in GTA: V, but there's something that I really like about this game. In the beginning, Faustin tells you that Dimitri is nothing but a snake. Over time, Dimitri finds a way to fuck you over, causing you to be angry, waiting on that sweet moment of revenge. There's always been this message throughout the game about revenge and letting go, which if you had killed Darko, Niko realizes it's pointless. After that, maybe you, the player will want to forgive and forget, only to get back stabbed again by Dimitri. We can't forget the call Kate left before your decision along with Roman's. Roman didn't care about what had happened because he let go. He let go only because he was in a much better spot in his life, he wanted more money, and that greed got him killed too. It amazes me how this game taught me so much, whether it's about letting go of things no matter how bad they are, or how greed is the root of all evil. Best GTA in my opinion.
I had got the game as a gift when I was 8 years old. But my hardware at the time couldnt handle it so I gave it up. Last month at 20 years of age I completed it and I never felt more glad that I finished it when I was old enough to absorb what was going on. And I killed Darko, chose revenge ending. Damn what a game man

Killer Kuerbis That’s just crazy. GTA V owns the series with the best weapons (especially the custom options), great multiplayer (except for the horrible players), best vehicle roster and great customisation second to only San Andreas. GTA IV easily has the best story and characters but it really lacks with no planes, shit customisation and weak vehicles.
This was Grand Theft Auto at it's peak. Even though Niko had an unrealistic Serbian dialect which is shown when he tries to speak Serbian words, the story had this feel that makes you think that it was probably a real story that someone had experienced. It all felt so true. The characters have perfect personalities. And let's not forget EFLC, those were great as well and deserve their own mention.

I really liked the story in gta 4. Objectively would say its the best one. There was a dark tone plicated in the design of liberty city. To match the chaos of the 00s. Financial crisis , 9/11 ect. GTA 4 had depth, unlike the other games. The story was amazing, seeing niko develop as a character over the game is something you just do not see. This was the last true GTA game where developers focused on creating a great single player experience. The advent of multiplayer and micro-transactions have ruined gaming.
Good Single player games did not die. Companies just focus less on them which is sad indeed. Rockstar pulled with RDR2 another great single player game out for sure!
I mean, I loved GTA 5, and red dead redemption 1 and 2 were both amazing games, all of which were released by rockstar. I do agree however that gta online and red dead online are terrible.

Don't attack me because of my age. Everyone says 12 year olds enjoy GTA 5 the most. Me being 12, GTA IV holds a special place in my heart. When I was like, 8, whenever I was at my grandma's house, I would play GTA IV, granted, I never did missions, but is was fun, replaying the game gives me so much nostalgia.

the storyline is the best!!!! the ending was so emotional. i literally cried. maybe it's gameplay is not as good as gta 5 but gta 5 storyline is nothing compared to gta 4. amazing work writers! i also want to be a writer. i wanna work for rockstar games too when i grow up. who knows, maybe i end up being in the credits of gta 9 or something. The reason why GTA 4 theme sounds so dark and depressing compared to those of the other GTA games is that there is no happy ending to Niko's story... If he chooses to be a criminal forever, his girlfriend dumps him and his cousin gets killed from one of his associates who betrays him (Dimitri). If he decides to change life and live like a normal person with Kate as his girlfriend, the mob boss Jimmy Pegorino won't allow him to just walk away from criminal life, and as a payback he will kill Kate. Niko will eventually get his revenge on the killer of his cousin/girlfriend but he will still lose one of the persons he cared the most in the game. Either way it is a tragic end to a tragic character considering all the dramatic events Niko went through before the game (the war) and during the game itself. And that's why GTA 4 is by far the most serious and realistic game in the series, not to mention the best one for the story. btw i copied and pasted this
GTA IV has the best ending. In every other GTA, you win with a good ending and without much loss. But in IV, you lose either your girlfriend or your cousin. Nothing can replace them.

Gta 4 story was made by a genius . Is the best story who I ever seen. And also the drive is more realistic then any gta . I dont care to much about graphics . I am more a guy who play games for story and fun.

the storyline is the best!!!! the ending was so emotional. i literally cried. maybe it's gameplay is not as good as gta 5 but gta 5 storyline is nothing compared to gta 4. amazing work writers! i also want to be a writer. i wanna work for rockstar games too when i grow up. who knows, maybe i end up being in the credits of gta 9 or something. The reason why GTA 4 theme sounds so dark and depressing compared to those of the other GTA games is that there is no happy ending to Niko's story... If he chooses to be a criminal forever, his girlfriend dumps him and his cousin gets killed from one of his associates who betrays him (Dimitri). If he decides to change life and live like a normal person with Kate as his girlfriend, the mob boss Jimmy Pegorino won't allow him to just walk away from criminal life, and as a payback he will kill Kate.
Niko will eventually get his revenge on the killer of his cousin/girlfriend but he will still lose one of the persons he cared the most in the game. Either way it is a tragic end to a tragic character considering all the dramatic events Niko went through before the game (the war) and during the game itself. And that's why GTA 4 is by far the most serious and realistic game in the series, not to mention the best one for the story.

GTA IV has the best ending. In every other GTA, you win with a good ending and without much loss. But in IV, you lose either your girlfriend or your cousin. Nothing can replace them.
Who's to say that some GTA endings were good? I think you have forgotten about tlad or 3. While 3 wasn't as bad it still had a bleak sad bittersweet ending and tlad is just depressing watching the fall of the lost mc
