Experience a "Central Florida Express" sometime, aka a furious afternoon severe thunderstorm in Florida, the lightning death capital of the world and third most lightning struck location in the world next to Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela and the democratic Republic of Congo in Africa
I heard a ridiculous thunder about a week ago, it was a like 5 second long lightning bolt (couldn’t see it fully cause under a overhang thing but flashed for that long) and then the thunder after had 7 super loud booms and was crackling loudly the entire time, crackling stopped after like a minute. was outside for it too so satisfying
Tip for anyone finding a killer electrical storm video like this one: Listen closely (if you dare) for subtle pops at the exact moment when lightning strikes, especially the close bolts that have thunder just a second or two later. Those pops are "upward streamers" of positive electricity trying to reach up to the stepped leader coming down from the clouds. If they meet, that's your lightning bolt, but since there are usually several upward streamers for any given stepped leader, you tend to hear the failed upward streamers in videos like this. After all, they're basically tiny little lightning bolts in their own right. You can hear one in this video at 0:11. (Just be aware that loud thunder more or less immediately follows it, of course.)
Not only that, but when the thunder at 0:37 actually strikes at 0:36, you can hear a slight pop. This is almost certainly a (very) nearby upward streamer trying to connect to the stepped leader from the cloud, which ultimately connected about a fifth of a mile distant instead. You can hear these pretty frequently in videos of strong electrical storms if you know what you're listening for. Sometimes it's a much more resounding pop than what we get in this video.
If you watch the entire video, you can plainly see that he's actually standing just inside his house. While this remains a calculated risk, lightning would be extremely unlikely to choose his body over the taller structure above him.
I wish I was there I hope I can record footage of storms just like that in North Carolina in the spring and summer season where I live in the Outer Banks But man what a killer storm❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊

The sound of thunder changes in a violent storm…this one was definitely changed….great video folks!!!!👍👍👍👍
Absolutely insane CG barrage. That thunder crack @ 0:37 is one of the most brutal I've ever heard.
Sounds like a positive strike. :)
@@brennuvargr4638 it's a positive lightning strike

@@TrainMan2004 I have, on numerous occasions. That’s one of the many reasons I love Florida so much 🙂

Oooooweeee what a storm! You could hear the *SNAP* of some of the lightning because of how close it was.

MAN, those thunderclaps are just KILLER!!
0:32 loud crack of thunder
Man in background: "holy fuck"
0:37 a much louder crack
0:39 man in background "holy fuck" but louder

Lightning is no joke!!!! These thunderclaps sound gutwrenching on surround sound!!!! Too bad you didn't catch the entire storm!!!
Thunder like that immediately after flashes that bright meant the strikes were extremely close. Not very smart to be outside in those conditions.

I was watching this live and this was amazing! You had a perfect view of it!

Like how the 2nd thunder strike around 0:37 interrupts the one that came before it
And how did you not twitch after several close lightning strikes!?
That lightning is fantastic, you're brave for standing in the open doorway yikes!
I wish I was there

Nice distortion free sound! What phone you use to film?
Damn, of course I forgot that I just plugged in my new high volume speaker. That thunder crack caused my cat to sh*t on herself and I farted!!!
Nothing makes a man feel safer from lightning than standing behind a 3mm thick skeeter screen.
Very lucky to not get struck great footage though. And I love the thunder at 36 seconds in.
Crazy I will not be outside or either close to any window
This is weigh, too short. Sorry, but I really love that thunder. Keep up the great work!
