      Even the spectacular Nora Grant is not widely planted anymore. The only one I see used is the dwarf which isn't really too showy like the others.

    I live in Texas and just saw this plant in Lowes so I purchased 2 of them for my yard. I'm happy I did. I can't wait for them to get big so they can fill in the area they were bought for. Beautiful plant. BTW it came from a company in Miami.

    Thank you for the info. I just bought my first ixora. It is beautiful. I did not know they would grow so large.

    Doing research and came across your video and you seem to know your plants! To add to it, the large “monstrous yellow flower” plant is a Mexican sunflower. Became really popular in Florida because of its fast growth and pretty yellow flowers and it is also good for a chop and drop material if you want to use your plants as compost!

    • @RichardSites
      @RichardSites  10 месяцев назад

      Finally! How is it propogated?

      Do your research because I could be wrong if I’m not seeing it correctly! I think it’s “Tithonia diversifolia”. Aka Mexican sunflower. Gets huge and grows wild and some people regret planting it when they try to get rid of it... I believe it is most commonly propagated from cuttings and takes really easy. Hope that helps, not an expert but I couldn’t help but comment.

    Thanks, Richard. Could you do a video on Pentas? I can't tell ixora and pentas apart.

    • @RichardSites
      @RichardSites  2 года назад +1

      Very easy, pentas is a small ground cover or color bedding plant and only gets maybe 18-20 inches tall. Ixoras are woody shrubs growing to about 6 feet or maybe more.

    • @georgweyand88
      @georgweyand88 2 года назад

      @@RichardSites but what if they are both small and how can I tell a baby ixora apart from a mature pentas?

    • @RichardSites
      @RichardSites  2 года назад +1

      Ixoras have waxy leaves, pentas has soft, pubescent leaves

    I love the ixora plant but living in Indiana this plant will not survive the winters here. I even try to keep them in my heated garage with lots of natural light and they still don't survive so I've given up.

      I've tried to grow tropical plants in cold climates before. I think the only way to do it, is to have a glass and sunroom like a botanical garden has. Thanks for watching and commenting.
