    I'm an active duty parachutist, have been for 18 years. I finally went to medical to get help for my knees because it got so bad I could barely climb stairs (but I was still jumping). Naval medicine told me I had chronic knee pain and told me to do lunges and leg curls. Everything they did just aggravated my knees further. Through X-rays it was discovered I have metal fragments imbedded in and around my knee, so MRI is out and naval medicine basically gave up on me. Jeff's videos have given me so much I've been able to reduce my pain to a point I may be able to start carrying my wife up to bed again. Thanks, Jeff.

    • @nocturnal7345

      Blake Water How did the metal fragments managed to get imbedded into your knee?

    • @Blakewater0326
      @Blakewater0326 5 лет назад +13

      Not sure. IED, RPG, mortar, rocket, hand grenade; take your pick. The fragments are fairly small, but there's a few. Enough that they can't figure out how to image my knees. Small and deep enough that surged to remove them would do more damage than the little bits already have. I was concerned, but like I said finding Jeff's channel and scouring the internet I actually have a proper PT program and a lot of the pain is gone.

    You just changed my whole entire life with this video. My PT has never explained this to me quite like you just did. I started having knee problems about 9 months ago and just chalked it up to over exercising and know I have a misalignment in both knees...not to mention hip pain at times. I also have flat feet so this video made me look at my “knee” problem in a whole different light.

    I come to your channel first for all my joint problems...and typically learn more than i can digest with one viewing, so I watch it again and again, which then levels up my training long term. Over the past 3 years, with your vids (and my own casual hobby of drawing anatomical posters) I’ve learned nearly as much as a PT student, and more! Thank you, i hope you earn a lot of passive cash from youtube because a lot of us athletes can’t afford the injury, let alone the consultation bill. Not saying I worship you, but over time, ive come to trust you wholeheartedly. Peace and gratitude from Rhode Island!

      Cut back on your portions a little at a time, you will lose weight this way along with exercise. Just leave something on your plate, one bite of food at each meal. Do that for a couple of months at every meal. Then try eating 90% of what’s on your plate. Replace that missing 10% with a filling vegetable or fruit like broccoli or a banana if you still feel hungry. Do that for 2 months. Add simple cardio like two 20 min walks or dancing each week. Keep cutting back on your portions every few months, drink some water at each meal. Your body will get rid of the existing weight and your stomach will also adjust to the smaller portions. I did this and lost 30 pounds in a year. I realized I was eating too much food and I sit all day for work so I had no way to burn the excess calories. So now I eat what my body will actually burn for me and help it with eating a little steamed vegetables, salads, & fruit from time to time. I go for 25 min walks when it’s warm out. I still don’t own a gym membership. I couldn’t believe it worked for me but it did. Try it if you’d like. This approach is low maintenance and you go as fast or as slow as you’re comfortable with. It’ll be easier on your joints too.

Then tried the hurt side. Fatigue started at 12 reps and serious burn at 14. I got to 50 eventually. After 5 minutes of rest I could squat without a since, and my natural out-turned foot stance was less pronounced. Thais was immediate improved internal rotation of the legs from the hip. Thank you.

Got an MRI recently and found out it's just poor tracking in one knee (my less used leg for jumping in basketball for over a decade) giving me patellar tendonitis/inflammation and caused by weak glutes and hips. Hoping the PT exercises along with this can get me back to being able to run and jump without fear again.

      Is your knee pain gone?

    • @stresslee
      @stresslee 3 года назад

      @@akl3056 not entirely, but it’s a lot better now for sure
      My knee used to be so delicate that if I did anything stressful, even walking for too long I would start limping it was embarrassing.
      I don’t use this exercise really but I learned something similar from another video.
      You use an exercise band like this video but instead you hold what’s called a Mexican sitting squat while opening your legs with a band around them and hold that pose for 45 seconds, 5 sets.
      It’s like pretending to sit in a chair without the chair. That really helped out. And also another thing that helped was building up my quad strength again, my legs were really weak and that was definitely a factor.
      I used Bulgarian split squats to build them up and it helped tremendously as well.
      I took my time building up weight on those though, I started not too heavy at first and now I’m able to go a lot heavier for sure, my knee isn’t as bad but it’s still not 100%. I would say like it’s at maybe 70% now as compared to before feeling like 15 or 20 lol
      I’m still careful though, I don’t think it’ll ever actually be gone

    Before the covid-19 pandemic I hit a low bar squat pr of 455lbs. Since returning to the gym I've tested 315lbs but now for some reason have knee pain. I always find a solution on Jeff's channel been watching Athlean X for years now

    This man is a life saver, 🙌. Instant relief after doing this and it's shocking how the body works, I genuinely thought it was a knee issue.
