      You won’t be disappointed ! Fishes great on a dead drift or on the twitch. I love to nymph it. A great traditional streamer pattern as well.

    Jig streamers on a tight-line set up have become my go to here in WI. Way more productive than throwing and stripping meat. You ever fish this in a tandem rig?

    • @AboutTrout
      @AboutTrout  4 года назад

      Couldn’t agree more . I do fish these on tandem rigs a lot. I’ll run my jig streamer on point if I’m doing it that way . In my experience it seems like it fishes better and tangles less.

    • @AboutTrout
      @AboutTrout  4 года назад +1

      3wt euro rod . Had enough back bone . You could throw it on a 3wt but it wouldn’t be fun !

    What is the name of the tool you use to spin that loop? I am unfamiliar with that. Ignorance is bliss :) Great looking fly!

    • @tightliningmd
      @tightliningmd 3 года назад

      I believe I later heard you call it a dubbing spinner. Thanks anyway!

    • @AboutTrout
      @AboutTrout  3 года назад +1

      It’s a dubbing spinner . That one specifically is made by OPST and I love it . I’m not sure if they make it anymore but the Loon spinner is similar in weight and has a loop so it’s easier to palmer.

    what size bobber do you need to suspend this chonker?

    • @AboutTrout
      @AboutTrout  4 года назад

      She thiqqq but I would say a 1/2” should be okay if you’re other nymph is light .

  • @CsCarlton1973
    @CsCarlton1973 4 года назад

    So why the OPST dubbing spinner?

    • @AboutTrout
      @AboutTrout  4 года назад

      It’s heavy and spins really tight cables . Best dubbing spinner I’ve ever used . The Loon one is basically the same thing
