This performance of “Adagio” is from Dimash’s time on the Chinese show “I Am Singer” in 2017 when he was just 22 years old. He gained overnight stardom in China and global fame with his very first performance on this show with the song “SOS“. Dimash won 3 episodes with his performances of “SOS”, “Opera 2” and “Adagio”. These, together with “Autumn Strong”, “Daybreak”, “Confessa & Diva Dance”, “Unforgettable Day” and “Daididau” are must watch. He finished second in the competition which was a showcase for established, professional Chinese singers. Dimash was the first foreigner and youngest ever competitor invited to take part on the show.
FYI, Dimash is a Kazakh, 6’3” tall and 29 years old. He is classically trained, is an extraordinary singer with a 7.7 octave range, a mesmerising performer, brilliant composer and musician. DIMASH is insanely good; ever performance is amazing in it's own right. He is the best singer ever in history, someone like him only comes along once in a millennium; mankind may never see the likes of him again in this world. I found him over 6 years ago and listen to him daily; that is how much he impresses me; and I am in the company of tens of millions of fans that feel the same way. Most all his performances I go into a trance (I think) and at some point find myself with mouth open and drooling until I regain my senses and realize I was just so lost in his performance, I had no idea what I was doing. This happens even in songs Like this one that I have seen maybe a thousand times over and over again. He just sings to your soul and you loose all control; very addictive experience.

Well, this is great, but it just scratches the surface. Dimash handles every genre of music from opera to rap, and he does it all brilliantly. He sings in about 15 languages, plays at least seven instruments and sells out arenas and stadiums everywhere in the world and routinely draws fans from 60-70 countries to each concert. He is creative beyond belief and is currently in Los Angeles working with major music producers. He is already a household name in a large part of the world, is on the verge of similar success in America.
You should see episode one of this show. They had Dimash start the show. No one had heard him before and they were all blown away. He did a cover of SOS (Dun Terrian en Detresse) and it brought him worldwide recognition. The next morning so many fans were outside his hotel he had to start traveling with security.
I only discover him 5 months and fell in love his voice and I’m 63 years old my dream to watch his concert before I die lol … he’s amazing no one can be but him

Great reaction. This is the first performance I ever heard Dimash sing. I had no idea who he was. Doing some research, i soon got to know him. This was in 2017. He was just 22. I’m one of his older fans and have never heard anyone like him. I read many of the comments here and there are no exaggerations. He calls his fans “Dears”. We come in all sizes, shapes, ages. He is 29 now and continues to surprise me with every new song. A few suggestions…Stranger and Ave Maria(New Wave). Screaming(Idol Hits), Hello(cover Lionel Richey, Singer show), All By Myself(New York concert, Barkley Center), Olympico(New York concert). You will get many suggestions. When Dimash sings a song he has sung before, he often makes changes. Dears like different versions. Some may recommend the same song but done at a different venue. There are no wrong performances. He got to perform with Lara Fabian, his childhood dream come true in 2019. Marcelito Pomoy is a an impersonator, whereas as Dimash is a musical genius! THE greatest vocalist of ALL time, University Classically/Contemporary vocally trained and currently coming to the end of his Doctorate in Musicality. He Is also a brilliant composer with a perfect score Master’s degree in Composition. He’s from Kazakhstan (formerly Soviet Union). He plays 7 musical instruments very well. He sings in 13 languages and regularly sells out concerts to 40,000 people, all over the world. he won’t sign a contract with the West because he sings in all genres of music including Opera and wants control over what he does. He was almost 23 here, he’s now 29 years old, you should hear what he sounds like today with his over seven octave range (at this time he had six, his baritone/base registers are now absolutely incredible)!

When he turned 5, his grandmother took him to music classes daily. Both of his parents are famous singers. He sings in 12 languages, hits between 6 + 8 octaves, won numerous competitions on China's singer competition. He is from Kazakstan and everyone that loves him are called dears.

Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. I’m sorry I’m a bit late. I just discovered your channel and liked and subscribed. I don’t know how much you know of him by now.
Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 or 16 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. Sometimes he also can be a little bit goofy, and I love it❤️. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
Adagio was the 6th performance of The Singer competition in China in 2017. A really beautiful song❤️. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. But Dimash takes this song to another level. Every time, I see this performance I forget to breathe. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance literally hit me physically every time🤯. And you can see that I’m not the only one.
The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.What I love about the Chinese competitors is that they don’t behave like competitors. Everyone wishes everyone luck. Everyone watches the other’s performance. Clap, sing along. In my opinion, no one begrudges the success of another. They might not have taken Dimash seriously at first, but that quickly changed after SOS. Through ist honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today.
Maybe you want to see the first performance of this competition. He sings it in French. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.

Usually, I give a fat thumb down to everyone who never heard about Dimash, who had been the best vocalist on this planet for about five years now. But I stop doing this. Going forward: stop saying 'come on' when you listen to Dimash. Listen, learn, and then react. There is no one who is even close. They are good singers, great singers, Swift, Grande, men or women, but all of them are miles away from this Godsend. You think this was amazing? You haven't heard anything yet.
