I feel like Dig Out Your Soul is the most underrated Oasis album. I really love this song, in every version of it. This is my favourite, even if I prefer Liam's voice I think he wouldn't do better.
One of Noel's trademark songwriting techniques of late seems to making subtle changes to the chords for the final chorus but keeping the melody pretty much the same (The Turning, AKA Broken Arrow, If I Had A Gun, The Mexican, etc.). Works a treat here.
LOVE this version! i'm glad it's at least on the bonus version and we got to hear it..could've been lost in one of the many unreleased songs they've got!
She come up to me I can't remember what she said Cause I was in a trance and I forgot it all I bet you don't know about all that Revolution in her head She make a lover seem so magical
on the dvd it shows in black and white footage Noel playin this base line to andy and gem. Its class but really noel wanted a loud rockin album hence the version that made the album.
I like both versions. I don't get it why fans seem to need to pass judgment on the music so definitively. Why can't it be two flavours of the same song, each with its own personality? Doesn't it strike anyone how brilliant it is that he can have the same song done twice and they are so absolutely different? I love the other version as a loud rock song when I feel aggressive and this is better for blazing and chilling out. I like them both, no need for further criticism here.
It sounds like U2's one..and the original sounds like "Five to One" from The Doors, probably the favorite songs of his wife, since he made the song for her.

The ending reminds me a lot of One by U2, love it!
I do like this version, but I'm not convinced it fits the album as well as the version they went with. Especially coming off the back of Bag It Up and The Turning - the change of pace is too sudden and the first three tracks flow together nicely
whilst i think i preferre this more mellowed version, the version they'd used on dig out your soul fits in sucession to the songs before and after. The heavy bass and rift continues the groove that we hear in the previous two tracks and then sets up the next one. So I can see they're reason for using the version that they did.
way better than the album version noel is clueless when it comes to picking songs for albums and song versions hear Liam's vocal on "lord don't slow me down" same again
I wish he would remix the last 4 Oasis albums just using that heavenly instrument at the very end of this song… can any of you name what that instrument is at 1:50?
Where you get all these alternate takes from?! I love this, dont think it would have suited the album as much as the original one, but still fucking brilliant! Peace
save me from the rapture, je pense qu'il veut dire par la : rester sur "le manège" (l'histoire d'amour) dont il ne veut pas descendre, il ne pas qu'on l'enlève de là. donc "rester" comme tu disais c'est ça.
is there anyone who speaks english and french, to explain me in french the meaning of "save me from the rapture" i think "save me from" doesn't mean " to release him from the rapture but it means "stay in the rapture" no? It would make more sense regarding the song.
It was never a song suited for Liam's voice, and will never be, because Noel wrote this for his wife. If the little potato sang it, it will be fucked up hahaha
This is really disappointing to hear, mainly because it's crazy how this wasn't the version used for the album. It's a much better version, though the one on the album is still pretty good.
Unfortunately this is another classic example of Noel's poor decision making. Look at the mistakes he made of the many great b-sides that could of and would of sent previous albums onto another fuckin level! He's still a total ledge tho!
Have to admit I love this more than the album version
Fuck yes
Sounds like a demo
@@Canwepleasehavefun1 your a demo

This is seriously one of the best songs i heard from oasis!
Nice one Brian! yours isn't bad either. :)
Oh, man. This is great. Much better than the album version.
And Noel's vocals are even better.
One of Noel's trademark songwriting techniques of late seems to making subtle changes to the chords for the final chorus but keeping the melody pretty much the same (The Turning, AKA Broken Arrow, If I Had A Gun, The Mexican, etc.). Works a treat here.

At 1:49 when the organ kicks in, it sounds eerily like Mike Pinder on his Mellotron during his Moody Blues days. Chills on chills.....
What’s the name of that type of organ? It sounds like something from outer space 😂
@@CameronBrooksit’s not an organ, it’s a mellotron from the 1960s using the string tape setting
What a fuckin tune man. Flawless.
for the posh lads
Yep
this alt version is one of their best song...absolutely!
this is class. this version should've been on the album.
this song is so good
hauntingly beautiful
this song touches your soul.

Wow!! I love the album version, but that was next level.
The image is excelent! AND TOO THE SONG!
Very nice better than the album version
Love this version 👍
0:00 here's the repeat button because this is just Mindblowing!
One of the best Oasis songs EVER, they ruined it on the album though! this version is heaven.
I love both version but I must agree that this one has someting very special.
Reflecting back on this, you can hear the first high flying birds album within it .
on the dvd it shows in black and white footage Noel playin this base line to andy and gem. Its class but really noel wanted a loud rockin album hence the version that made the album.
Could you record it and upload it to RUclips my man?
Heaven sent
merci pour la réponse! et vive oasis ;)!
Amazing
I bet Noel was playing Working Class Hero when he started making this song.

Wow, it sounds like one of the Servant's song.
I love Oasis and The Servant

he should use this version for the album version
@bonoman1982 I had it in the boxset cd, but sure you can get it on itunes now.

wooow I like much this version than the other one :D
I like It A lot :D
I believe it is Noel Gallagher himself playing every instrument in this track.
She put an apple in my eye ,you best believe it

I prefer this version !
Completely agree.
Wondeful
I still regret NOT buying this on Vinyl for 100 Dollars in 2010..
When they had like 30 in a shop in Sweden⚓️⚓️⚓️
I wish he would remix the last 4 Oasis albums just using that heavenly instrument at the very end of this song… can any of you name what that instrument is at 1:50?
@BollocksUtwat For sure! I love em both :D blaze on
Noel is the best musician from Oasis no doubt!

SHE PUT AN APPLE IN MA EYEEE!!!!!
Evil eye by beady eyes?
where are this coming from?x
Before he decided to blatantly rip off the Doors, I guess...
teamguido555 ??
In this version too there are references to The Doors. The piano part seems to be taken directly by Riders On The Storm.
No it isn't a rip off....sounds nothing like
Using a beyond used blues guitar riff isn’t a rip off . It’s completely original song
Let’s take something that sounds super original.. and then rip off the Doors in an astonishingly obvious way.. instead..😂
This version is better. No rip off of the Doors.
is there anyway to download this version?
anywhere to download this?
what is the last line of the song? i cant make it out
@OasisBridlington09 Lay my soul off the ground, like a million more that have me down
@vtr81 Lay my soul off the ground, like a million more that have me down
@BollocksUtwat I 2nd that man!
Right choice was made for the album. I do think this one would have suited Liam's voice better....but maybe he couldn't pull it off?
It was never a song suited for Liam's voice, and will never be, because Noel wrote this for his wife. If the little potato sang it, it will be fucked up hahaha
exc but poteto was noel and not liam right? :D
+DrummerNoel Both of them are
Means 'alternative' or a different version
Noel is a music god,at least hes not invisible like ALL the establishment religeons gods.
what does he say at the very end "lay my soul on the ground...nanana blah blah"
cool fuckin' great!!
i think noel take the idea from rod stewart's sailing and put the vibe on this song
Listen sailing of rod stewart and tell me what you think
i like the other version much better,on their album dig out your soul
Whats "Alt" Meaning?? Can Anyone Tell ME?
alternative

Good how the song has two sides to it. Album one - bit of spite to it, this version - a sigh.
great version, better than the original but i don't think this version would've fitted with the whole feel of the album.

UHHH SEXY SONG
noway.
Much prefer the proper Oasis version on the album. The slow unplugged type songs by Noel are a nice alternative but Oasis are about rock n roll !
I think she ment her /bf said somthing like this song explains what im feeling blah blah blah, you know like the whole "our song" thing? who cares

Unfortunately this is another classic example of Noel's poor decision making.

better :D... the other version sounds like FIVE TO ONE of THE DOORS! & i dont like it :S
