It can be used for good in a hospital setting, so I’m very happy it helped you. It’s a good drug under medical supervision. but we have no clue how much fentanyl is in street heroin. Legalizing heroin, by having an addict go to a med center with a correct dose of what we know is in it is the only solution at this point. That, n also have a job counselor/ hunter for the addict. Give them a purpose, n they will most likely recover. No one is willing to stop China.

So many good people get trapped in this horrible nightmare. I have 10 months off of that garbage but it destroyed my body I'm just grateful to still be alive.

This fentanyl problem is because of the war on drugs, not in spite of it. I’m not advocating for the use of anything, but part of the reason you see this problem is that safer drugs have been criminalized. There’s a demand for this effect and being very powerful, cheap, and fully synthetic means that fentanyl is an easy sell for dealers.

@@benjaminjacklin677 Hi Ben. I appreciate your comment. The only issue I see with this is that firms in the market would still have an incentive to drive down costs by cutting products with fentantyl that they would now be able to *legally* access. Fentanyl has plenty of legitimate medical uses, and allowing for even users to have access to such a potent drug is a dangerous game. Put together, producers would now be able to access fentanyl with great ease. This point is especially important when you consider fentanyl's ability to kill-by-touch. Its the only drug that I believe is an exception to the logic of decriminalization/legalization.

Fentanyl is garbage. I've had to have it during a spur of the moment procedure while in the hospital and it only takes 1mg of dilaudid for my pain (I'm small and don't use recreationally) but the fentanyl did next to nothing for me with regard to easing pain. Plus, I ended up throwing up and I never have that issue. It slightly puts you at ease but on the spectrum of pain therapy, it's incredibly low. Fentanyl is being laced into heroin as a cheap way to make it go further with regard to weight/volume. I think it's dumb to use any of that shit recreationally except maybe a pill here or there when you feel like total ass (unfortunately it seems many today can't seem to handle HERE OR THERE, Thank you for ruining it for the rest of us by the way yah fucking morons), but fentanyl in particular, if someone is specifically seeking it out to use, that's just asinine.

The only way to stop cartels and the chinese is to legalize it. Short of doing that you're fighting a losing battle.

What happens if they start shipping this randomly to US citizens just because? Perhaps as a misdirection from other parts of the US or just malice?

It's only legal if you are a "legal" drug dealer (pharmaceutical company) and pay your cut to Uncle Sam.

My question is why not destroy what is seized instead of keeping it for testing when you know what it is?

Legalize heroin and give users a safe place to buy and use. Take the money out of the cartel. If they are going to get the drugs anyway at least do a civil service and regulate it.

Simple. Because law enforcement spends so much time, energy and money on the prohibition of marijuana.

In this Canadian documentary, about just another North American town, just like the thousands of others that started with an opioid epidemic where first people got their drugs from doctors, then when that route was cut off switched to heroin, then when the cartels realized they could make fentanyl in the same labs they made crystal meth (chinese aren't the only ones bringing fentanyl into U.S.). But that comment from the Chinese drug interdiction spokesman, that many states legalizing marijuana is creating the demand for fentanyl is without any merit at all. I was astounded to see in the comments below that as many people who comment here still think marijuana is a gateway drug. You just can't believe polls anymore.
But in this CTV documentary done with W5 and VICE Canada's combined resources, first responders, hospital workers, harm reduction specialists, social workers, and survivors of addiction discuss that right now in their little city of Sault Ste. Marie, for some young teens fentanyl is their first drug of use, not tobacco, not alcohol, not marijuana, but fentanyl. (Seriously, I can't believe polls, they had me believing Jeffrey Beauregard Sessions of Alabama was the last of two American who believed the "gateway" theory, he and Trump), but it's here on RUclips hear them for yourself: ruclips.net/video/NTxsan3s8Aw/видео.html
I know at the addiction treatment program I go to, (been off everything 18 years, alcohol 22) a lot of the very young ones coming in now used the harder drugs, cocaine, crack, heroin, synthetic opioids, or methamphetamine as their first drug experience, since we legalized medical marijuana in 2000 (so became medically available to buy a couple years later probably), legalized recreational in 2012 which went on sale in 2014. So I don't know why the difference, maybe sellers of diverted marijuana just charge more than a kid can afford, I have heard that they can get harder drugs cheaper than marijuana now, not sure if that is why, but really no kids were dying off of marijuana, this fentanyl carfentanil (opioid for elephant surgery) it's killing a lot of Americans, more than Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq wars combined in just a couple years in the U.S. alone. That statistic is not including all of the deaths from fentanyl and it's analogues in Canada, Europe, and the UK. Many of those places do not have legalized marijuana so that smug drug interdiction spokesman from China in the interview saying legalization is creating the market could help solve this problem by just admitting that at least some of it is coming from China, no one is saying all of it. It doesn't matter really where it's coming from, helping people so they don't see drugs as a choice in the first place is a good place to start. I think you have to fight poverty to do that too.
