I tried covering main camera and telephoto camera in 3x mode and 85mm portrait mode. In portrait mode covering either main or telephoto lens you can't click a photo it means it uses both cameras in 85mm portrait so its slow. And in 3x mode it uses main camera in low light and telephoto in good light.
You can block the lens with your finger and check, in low light when you block the main camera you can check the performance of Tele lens as well. Generally this happens with most cameras. In low light it switches automatically to the main camera and shoots with digital zoom which is not good.
