    Ugggh, I hate it when people put Inglorious Bastards as a ‘war film’. Don’t get me wrong, I love this movie, but I would say it’s more a dark comedy that happens to be set in WWII, not a war film. Its like me saying Robin William’s Hook is a Pirate movie rather than a fantasy.

      Yeah it's not a war movie it's a Quentin Tarantino movie love the move but it have nothing to do with history, it's like putting in Indiana Jones and last crusade as a spy movie. Or Jurassic park on Animal planet and calling it a documentary about the dangers of having dinosaur in Zoo's

      Well said. Just because a fictitious action adventure is set during wartime, that does not make it a 'war film'! I mean does anyone consider "Raiders of the Lost Ark" a war film, just because Indiana Jones is battling the Nazis?

    The Hurt locker is overrated and full of technical errors ,for example the scene with the 4or5 big granat (Shell) he pull them up bye the wier all of them easy over 100kg or over 200 pounds not possible ,there is a video here on YT there ex-solder's comments on war movies andthe Hurt locker gets it. I can sitt here and tell you about other mistakes but that would take too long of time.

    Haven't seen all of these movies - The Pianist is a story that takes place during war, but I wouldn't classify it as a "war movie" - same goes for Inglorious Bastards which is a kind of fantasy/fictional parody. I would put Blackhawk Down and Master and Commander as the top 2. Master and Commander stands alone as a fantastically well-researched and accurate depiction of naval warfare at the turn of the 19th century.

    Really enjoyed going through these lists.
    For me Enemy at the Gates should have been number one, not an honorable mention. It’s riveting and makes you feel the grit, depression and horror of the war and shows how soldiers can fight for their country and not necessarily for their government. I drop the remote any time it’s on.

    • @charleshimes1634
      @charleshimes1634 2 года назад

      I see that I didn't have to scroll down very far to find a like-minded commentor. Enemy at the Gates was not given the number 1 position it deserved for some unknown reason. I, for one, would be interested in knowing why. (And, up front, I'll have to say that I most probably will not agree with any reason given).

    Why isn’t Valkyrie ever in the top war movie lists?? I think that even though it’s tom cruise with all his action movies behind him, he portrayed his character with honor and dignity that it deserves
    Windtalkers and We Were Soldiers should’ve gotten a mention as well

      Letter from iwo Jima..IS ON THE LIST..... And come on Man
      "Enemy at the gates" ment to be number one,, when 90% of it is pure fiction...there was no sniper on sniper ,yes the main man was real but thats about it
      and the directing was not on point nor the editing or the action or the score
      you must love your Russian movies when you throw defiance in, i know its not in Russia but there is Russian fighting in the movie partisans'
      BLACK HAWK DOWN GETS ALMOST EVERYTHING RIGHT, i think this list is amazing and can not fault it and sorry to say i defo DO NOT agree with your movie picks from every aspect and Iwo Jima is in the list man, did you watch the video..?
