Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
9.95! I love it when she gets sliced in half.
9.9 Only missed the subs when Crowe said "Diamond! Diamond!" not "Down low!" 😉❤️
9 Good triumps (Trumps) over evil. We are about to leave this transgender world and enter the REAL world!
9/10

I never get tired of watching Gladiator.
Same here. Love the whole movie.
NEVEEEEEEEEER!

One of the best scenes in any movie. Period. Maximus showing why he was a revered and smart general. Brilliant and perfect. I never get tired of watching it.
Maximus saving Hagen in this scene is why he was so respected by everyone around him.
My favorite part is the attention to detail when his two teams he made in the heat of battle answer as he yells “single column! single column!” All to funnel the last two chariots his way as he retained mobility on a single horse.
3:34 That sword throw 😱👌
And catching too, imagine he would have missed it 😆
All these men were Warriors until there very death. I salute them all!
Maxius swings his sword got me everytime
Maximus finally did what Proximus advised him to do. "Win the crowd".
Golden age for Russell in this crazy cool looking scene!
4:17 Chills every, single time. 😃
You cleary see that Hagen does not trust Maximus in the begin when he says that they should work together. Like he wanted the take the glory for himself, that’s why he didnt join the diamond and give the credits to Maximus’s idea. After Maximus saves Hagen, he understood. Awesome detail.
Hagen always trusted maximus because he always knew who he was. He served under maximus at the battle of videbona.
@@unropednope4644 Hagen never served under Maximus, the one that is saying that is another dude. Hagen is a German, he also asks Maximus after this fight if he managed to get many victories in many countries, and after he gets an answer from Maximus, he asks “in Germania?”.. so never served under him bro.
@haasjeover5 its common knowledge "bro" listen when maximus asks who served before the coliseum fight. The big German, hagen, says I served UNDER YOU in Videbona. Your wrong and ignorantly contradicting 23 years of commonly known trivia. Theres also nothing about his actions that says he doesn't trust maximus. Even if your right (your not) they've known at fought together numerous times for months now.
@@unropednope4644 huh? HAHAHAH he never served under Maximus, the guy never said UNDER YOU, he says “I served with you” and he has a total different accent then Hagen😂😂 . He never knew him before he saw him when Maximus was recruited😂 he even called him “Spaniard”. Would you call your general Spaniard? Damn you must be a troll rofl I have watched this movie like a zillion times.
And with trust I meant; look at Hagen, look how he looks when Maximus speaks. He is like “what ever dude”. After Maximus saves Hagen, he aknowledge Maximus decisions and helps the columns.
The gladiators are being forced to recreate the historic battle of Zama (202 BC) during the Second Punic War, in which the Roman forces of Scipio Africanus defeated the Carthaginian army of Hannibal. Maximus and his gladiators reverse history by defeating the Roman army pitted against them.
Wasn't hero Hannibal at the beginning of the movie, in the battle at the forest?
I think they were fighting Germanic tribes in that battle
Hanibal should have march on Rome when he had a chance Roman republic took a gamble and got lucky … Hanibal was a better leader
@@corkystorky No. This was under Marcus Aurelius many years after the Punic Wars. Those took place before the fall of the Republic and the coming to power of an Emperor.
.
This just never gets old
4:11 what a great ending to the fight. Best character right there
Still an epic movie after all these years.
After all hus struggles, Maximus really deserved to grow old and grey in his farm house in Spain 😢
2:46 the score begins to sound like Pirates. Thanks Hans Zimmer for repeating yourself.
One Of The Very Best Motion Picture Of All Time. Could keep watching it over and over and over again🙏❤️
You can see gas tank on chariot at 2:34 😂
A true modern classic.
When the music hits …. Epic 🥰
The best movie in my book.
Love the movie, have watched it more than 20 times. I akso, love the music.
2:34 look at the tank opps
This is water injection or nitrous oxide, historical accurate in military use durinh this time
@@nanab256 Yep, in the deleted scenes Maximus charged his Tesla at his home estate in a flashback. Very historically accurate.
Those girls at 1:00 and 3:15 were some of the most badass gladiators and how hard they fought. They were also really gorgeous! Wonder who were the actresses who played them. It was sad to see how many Romans put people like this together to fight to the death and enjoy watching other people kill others for sports. Its amazing how much the world change yet we still fight, whether for power, glory, honor, greed, it still shows how much people love fighting whereas these gladiators fought to survive.
I don't think they would have used Female Roman Soldiers
@@nimavamsi9706 There weren't female soldiers in the legions (that we know of...it's always possible some managed to sneak in pretending to be men as it was documented to have happened with later armies), but there were some female gladiators.
I definitely love the music from gladiator even the action scenes
This scene is Ridley Scott at his very best.
“The Heart of Rome is not in the marbled halls of the Senate, but in the Sands of the Coliseum” The same thing still survives today. WWE, MMA, BOXING🤔🗿👊🏻🍺
WWE, MMA, and boxing are really gay though.
@@Kyoko_In.the Gladiatorial competitions that actually fought to the death back then.

Rome was blood thirsty evil... Enjoying poor helpless people die in the arena defending themselves...
How have I not seen the CO2 tank in the chariot at 2:35
Good Eye! I had to look twice but I saw it the second time in that view from behind the chariot.

Commodus reactions are gold
Announcer: “The LEGIONNAIRES of School Africanus!”
(Show chariots) 🤨
They were supposed to lose so as to avoid embarrassment (just in case)
God bless everyone because of this video exactly 999 trillion times more richly beyond your wildest dreams and highest expectations.
I know Rome reenacted their most famous battles, but this would be the battle of Zama, not the battle of Carthage. Also isnt it ironic that Maximus plays the role of Hannibal?
Yea lol hannibal a far better leader then any roman leader at the time
Best scene in the movie!
Shit was real back then
I like how he used his Army tactics like locking up the shield which is called the Turtle
Fantastic film
I know this is just a fictional movie but seriously it wasn't for Maximus leadership and majority of the Gladiators that cooperated with him, I'm pretty sure they all would have perished right there, the only gladiators that perished are the ones that were individualistic, except for the last two, but what I found insulting is the Gladiator that wasn't part of the group they got shot by an arrow and rescued by a Maximus is now given orders, I'm assuming he redeemed himself.
A beautiful movie
Not with the man who had actually defeated " the Barbarians " fighting for " the Barbarians ".
"Down Low" lmao subtitles
0:03 RIP, MetalFace DOOM lives forever
4:22 could pass as Empire Earth cover
Well if nothing else, this movie and the comments here show how much humans enjoy violence, cruelty, death, and danger.

General Maximus the maximum general!
As a ten year old my imagination was blown as far reaching as the Milky Way and i never fascination with history and Rome.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was in this movie. I heard his voice lol
His helmet always irritated me. It feels like it’s the cheapest prop in the movie for some reason.
because MF DOOM
I can see your point It's the only thing out of place historically, but besides that it does help "make" the character in a way.
" Daughter of the murdered parents, sister of the murdered brother..." 2014. Life imitating art.
Roman chariots were only used in sporting events. They were too cumbersome and limited in use to be used by them in war. It was the infantry and really only the infantry that made rome what was. Cavalry was a joke to them
However races and such were fair game
The way he hit him in the head with that spike thing..that was so fat

I love this scene, but Maximus's plastic helmet sort of ruins it.
Why Maximus gladiators look roman and the enemies look from Cartaghe? Isnt supposed to be the opposite way?
it's really funny considering Carthage used Scythian chariots like in here, while the Romans' heavily relied on Praetorians, Legions, and Hoplites
@ 4:19 sword with blood, but @ 4:22 sword all of the sudden is clean and shiny lol - still a great movie
How can they be Roman chariots? I can't think of a single instance that a Roman army used chariots in battle. Not to mention they would be long obsolete by this period, after 100 BC chariots were only used in England by the Celts.
As good as it was it still failed the bloodlust and horror of the coliseum. A man could escape death if he castrated himself in front of the crowd. They slaughtered all kinds of exotic animals!

Let’s save Goliath instead of slaying Goliath.
Let’s speak Life and evangelise over Goliath and move onwards from killing Goliath.
Yes it was a time then in David’s era, but we, us, As New Testament Christians, we can speak Life serving the God of life, (not the god of death) and evangelise to every Goliath so they can be saved, and not killed. Because of Jesus. Because Jesus is the God of LIFE, RENEWAL, RESURRECTION, NEW LIFE. 🕊🙌🏼✝️🌸
Shepherd David’s testimony is important and helps us with a good example of not relying on power, prowess, strength and popularity and tells us that a young humble shepherd who trusts in the Almighty can overcome the biggest mightiest opponent that everyone previously lost to, even with the smallest of armour and weapons but in the New Testament, should we be Evangelising to the Goliath’s in our lives instead of justifying bringing them down?
Can we shift from being combative to the Goliaths to evangelising them and trying to win their souls that are so precious to God who went to the Cross for them and rose again to prove all his can be overcome?
Do background checks on the men you made gladiators. You won't know one of them was a damn war general.

A Tragedy Period Time!
Not good.
Roman chariots?
The charioteers were from Africa…
Maximus African friend should've been the one playing Hannibal if you want to keep it completely honest. Scholars and professors have been digging up Carthaginans for the past few years and every person that they've dug up has had kinky hair big wide noses and thick full lips straight up Africans. The so called semitic people the Mediterranean people with perfect oval shaped heads and long skinny European noses well they haven't found one of them yet in all these years of digging up the bodies of Carthaginans. Even a Carthaginan high priestess had kinky hair big wide noses and thick full lips Negroid features, somebody's been lying.
The two black women warriors, remind me of Amaniernas Queen of Kush AKA the Sudan, she used to feed captured Roman soldiers to her two pet Lions. Queen Amaniernas ended up going to war with Rome over taxes. She cut the head off of a statue of Caesar Augustus total disrespect and she defeated Rome but you want hear about it, Hollywood want tell that story a black woman defeating the mighty Roman Empire oh no. Queen Amaniernas and Caesar Augustus fought for five bloody years Caesar Augustus realized that he couldn't win because his men didn't know the terrain like Queen Amaniernas people did it was their homeland. So he had to cut his losses and pull out of Africa Sub Sahara and left Queen Amaniernas and her people alone, Kush flourished after the Roman extraction.
HOTEP!
abeamus post gladiatores rei publicae servos, qui pro libertate pugnaverunt aut legionarii Romani facti sunt, quod est LEGIONARIUS Romanus, et prsesidio CAESARIS ROMANI;
Why are the "barbarians" geared like Roman legionaires?
It’s a self aware satire on how media entertainment is so low effort. Think of how historically inaccurate every Roman film was before this. Those braces on the wrists?
Not too inaccurate. During the actual gladiatorial games so many centuries ago, it was common to have the fighters dress up in elaborate costumes to add to the "entertainment". The costumes weren't always entirely accurate -- many time they were designed just to add some more glitz to the proceedings, not to recreate historical events in precise detail.
Foederati?

The inaccuracy in this movie bedazzles me lol 😂 they wouldn’t be able to communicate becus they spoke different languages and most of these people would probably have beef and wouldnt be near each other until it was time to battle
Every party has a pooper that's why we invited you
When I went to Rome our tour guide who had a degree in Roman history said the movie itself is inaccurate but how they depicted Rome and the battles was very accurate
They don't make movies like this anymore. I'm tired of this woke Hollywood.
Everything is sensitivized its the millenial generation bunch of pansies
Lord imagine what a sequel would be like... personally I'm not wanting to
@Donathon-qx8kq We're about see the sequel lolbvs.
Full of mental health professionals helping the crowd overcome what they've just witnessed probably 😂😂😂😂
Wtf does this have to do with supposed “woke” lmao. It’s just that they don’t want to spend the money on movies like this. Cheaper and more profitable to pump out basic cgi marvel shit.
They will betray yes then lead you to pilots from America Afghanistan area where being held i think 🧐🤔🤔🤔🤔
