    Oh man, you did a great job, but I have so much anxiety watching this. A new stylist very recently fingercoiled my hair and made it look so easy. Then I tried and, um...not easy at all and didn't turn out too good. But I need to learn this one way or another. So I am going to try to follow how you did it, tho I will need to use a drier (with diffuser) because it's already 2am and I can't wait for it to air dry....OK, too much information, I know.

    • @OliveTheseThings
      @OliveTheseThings  3 года назад +1

      Hope you tried it! It takes some time and feels a little awkward at the start. I remember my arms started hurting I needed a break haha. And diffusers save sooo much time, definitely use it 🥰

    • @nspector
      @nspector 3 года назад

      @@OliveTheseThings I did try it! A lot better than without your tips. But still not good enough, especially the back. And yes, my arms were hurting! But I will keep working on it. I really want to get this. I stopped coloring my hair during COVID, so I now have 16 months of grey which I really want to go with. But I can't walk around with a frizzy grey mess. And I don't want to keep it up ALL the time. So, I am going to learn ways of making it look good.....My feeling is that grey does not have to signify "old" if it's styled right. And, actually, the silver color is really nice and I think more flattering than the dye was. Also, to not have to constantly worry about roots showing is freedom.

  • @melong.g

    Hey! Does this method work for damaged hair? My natural hair has 3b curls but about 5 months ago I got a keratin treatment because I was really insecure of my curls :( my friend told me to cut my hair short and start transitioning but I absolutely hate myself with short hair, it makes my self esteem really low so I’m trying to find other methods to make my hair look good. I don’t wash it every day, and I’ve been moisturizing it a lot. The bottom part of my hair had gotten its curls back but the top part is still very weird, like wavy/straight so if I don’t straighten it all, it ends up looking wavy with a lot of frizz and volume. It’s probably because there’s still some of the keratin left in that top section, so I was wondering if finger coiling it would help! Thanks :)

    • @amyv8785
      @amyv8785 3 года назад

      it helps your curls become curls again so yes , but it wont completely heal your damaged hair , it would just help the shape form

      @@amyv8785 oh I see! I tried it out a few days after commenting this and it didn’t really work out hahah my curls are starting to come back but they are too tight to use the finger coiling method so I’m trying other stuff to make it more defined :)

    So first of all i'm a boy, and english isnt my mother tongue so it is likely that i will make some mistakes,
    I have naturally wavy hair, (i used to straighten them and then got dreadlocks, but after getting them off my hairs where a bit fragile and damaged so i used products to, idk, "heal"(?) My hair and they were wavy just like my father)

    FYI for future videos, the music (and a fan... or some kind of motor I can feel in the speakers?) is completely drowning your voice out, and for people with sensory issues, audio processing disorders, or Deaf like me, the ONLY way to watch this is to completely mute the audio and rely 100% on captions.... which entirely misses inflections, tone, sarcasm, and (unless you input them manually) is about 40% accurate. YES you have captions, but not everyone uses them. I uee a second device that transcribes everything it hears... but only displays maybe one word per sentence because the music blocks everything out.
    My sister has your type of hair and I was looking for suggestions from experienced curly-hair people... (mine's utterly straight and has endured 8-9 perms) ... so while this video would be perfect for her hair type... the audio would be a nightmare, and means she can't take her eyes away from the screen the whole time in order to catch every word. If you have other videos to suggest, by you or others you follow, I'm open to ideas, but ACCESSIBLE and disability-friendly (for people who are blind, and/or Deaf, on the spectrum, and APD-friendly) is absolutely paramount.
    Edits: damn typos!
