At the time it takes practice to become a professional dancer for the next generation young people like Anna Melnikova as she is one of the best instructors, the Latin body movement is always precise.
At a time when the focus in dancesport is so much focused on producing slick ,fast, dynamic movement its fantastic to hear someone like anna who is one of the most naturally expressive lady dancers of the last 20 years speak on this subject. I feel this component which is what gives dancing life and meaning has become so misinterpreted and is so lacking in todays young dancers. Dance is a language. Its called body language and unless dancers are taught to speak it well they will look like not much more than robotic machines. Many couples I see today look to me as though they have a business arrangement rather than any genuine connection. The physical attributes is great but without this component its just not dance to me.
Its true , much of society is fragmenting due to multiple catalysts. But its visual in art related sports like ballroom dancing. In the past there just weren't as many distractions and performing arts had a sense of feeling from all of the internalizing of performers emotions. I think slowly & in some parts it is making a come back to relate with the ones partner rather than oneself. Let us not forget though, that with the right "backing" couples excel which has no relation to dance.
Dance today.. I hope you are right and It does make a comeback because without it I fear this sport will struggle to attract a paying audience around the world. We have already seen it happen in many countries. Dancers today astound and impress me with what they can do with their body but very few move me in any emotional way. At the end of the day people either dance or watch dance because of how it makes them feel. YES?
Wow. Great topic. I like the idea of dance being a conversation. You listen and exchange. ☺
Анюта как всегда самая-самая! Лучшая и самая женственная латиноамериканская танцовщица! Любим!
