Another day in the beautiful wheat fields of Montana!!!!!!!! Say it will never end-oh my-hurts to hear close to the end. Kind of sad to see some of the crew starting to leave. You ALL are close family and breaking up the family is hard!!!! My sincere compliments to Nick for his fantastic drone footages. Catching that moose in the field was a classic treat!!!! Excellent drone for of the 🫎!!!!!!!!! And he caught some antelope also, just outstanding camera footage!!!!! Love when the drone is directly overhead of a combine as it cuts through the wheat field- - excellent view of the combines operation!!!!!!!!!! Tracey you do such a great job of combining your video and the drone footage together to make one amazing daily video, fantastic!!!!!!!!!! The wheat fields that are massive and never seem to end coupled with the superb scenery are just incredible and beyond words and are never tiring!!!!! You would think after a few days of this that your interest would fade BUT NOT SO, if anything it increases in intensity as the days roll on!!!!!! Always enjoy your videos of the Highwood bench harvest. Those are a great bunch of people you work around. You can tell by the smiles on everyones faces. Nothing like comraderie to make your day. Won't be long until you're on your way to Jordan. Jim and you have a great day, be safe.
Spectacular overhead shots. Really shows the team harvesting. That part of Montana isn't what I think of for moose. Antelope and rabbits would fit in. As I remember, Wall Drug has a stuffed Jackalope. Always a thumbs up! Thanks...
I’ve really enjoyed your Montana harvest videos the last two years. Seems like a great family operation to get a chance to work with. Safe travels back home.
Wow that moose seems vout of its eliment .? Nice to see the antalope . Nice shotts .thankyou . Sky looks flat .hope the smoke goes away . Thankyou take care.
Tracy, these video's are just great! It really shows what it takes for harvesting wheat or barley in this part of Montana. As I said before I am from that county and this is so familiar. Just heart warming. It's been nearly 48 years since I ran a combine for harvest! We thought the machines back then were "state of the art" but these? Everything seems to run pretty good. Keep sending out your segments. They are just great to tell the stories and show the place where it comes from. You and Jim take care!
I am watching from Western Wisconsin I enjoy your videos 25 days at one place that's big wheat. 1:36 my employer Farms 2100 Acres soybeans and corn our big season isn't here yet😉
Tracy I can tell why you feel for that smooth talking Jim all those years ago I know you are going to miss everything about harvest and all of your new family we are going to be right in there with you great video such beautiful country thank you all for the ride
Thank you Tracy ,Jim & the massive fantastic crew ,you folks are just brilliant . The scenery the music the ongoing work needs little words .love it all ...all the best ..
That's really what you call wide open spaces. It all is but today those fields just seemed to go on forever. Looked like there was getting to be a little weed pressure now.
I love your harvest videos. Brings back so many memories of my days going to harvest with my grandfather and family. I would love to come to Montana and just ride with you for a couple days.
Tracy, thanks for your videos. This one was especially beautiful. Those massive fields of golden wheat are something to behold. I actually lived in Great Falls in the late 70's, early 80s. I worked for a large fertilizer supplier and took rides in big trucks with pneumatic trailers full of dry fertilzier out to this Highwood area in the spring to re-supply the spreader trucks. I fell in love with that area then. I miss it. Would you believe that I now live in NYC? I know, crazy, eh? Thanks ever so much for these beautiful videos. The drone footage is just breathtaking. Much love and blessings to you all.
This is quite crazy, for sure! From Highwood, MT to NYC?! One extreme to the next! I would be willing to bet you’ve been by a few of these fields. I fell in love with Montana the first year I got to come with my grandparents. That would have been in 1974. Then, as our life evolved and we started cutting in the Jordan area, I REALLY fell in love. I always thought it would be the one place I would move to. Still would if my entire family came too (which they might just do). It’s a wonderful state full of wonderful people! I’m so glad you have enjoyed my daily updates! And thank you for your kind words.
Looks like Jim was into the Snacks again. Sounds like you may be running near finishing up. Great lookin wildlife. The Drone shots were great. Lots of going round and round, but accomplish a good days work. Seen Old Glory again. Sure looks like a great crew working together. Will Bo looking for tomorrow’s edition of Montana Harvest 2024. @@ZeorianHarvestingTrucking I view a lot of farm related videos and there is nothing amateur about yours......drone shots, cab shots, scenery, great music & those beautiful green machines.
Oh my another great video Tracy! 🎉🎉Seeing the spots of alkali reminds me of the time my dad got a D-8 stuck in it not far from where your video is today, but more toward Highwood. Loved seeing the moose also! Never saw one out there but they did have a couple go through Great Falls.
We had a little rain here in Fort Macleod early this morning with a little more forecasted in a couple of hours. Sounds like the harvest is nearly finished. Have a great day!
What are all the various spots in the field? Some white, some green? How neat to see the moose. I'm always fascinated by the size of the headers and the swath they can make. When my dad farmed I think the biggest might have been 15 or 20 feet and he thought that was big. Now they're twice that size. I've got to go back and watch the video that tells who is who because I thought Dave was part of the family!!! Hard to keep up with everyone. Great video
I sure enjoy these harvest videos, hate to see your harvest end! I noticed no sprayer tracks in the spring wheat, they must manage it differently than winter wheat. Anyway thanks for the update, from a worn-out farmer in northwest Ohio.
There are sprayer tracks. I’m guessing the spraying is done at the same time. Then winter wheat would be in a different growing stage than the spring. The tracks in the winter wheat were more prominent because the wheat was ran over at a later stage than the spring would have been.
Hello from new zealand thanks for doing these great videos. And thanks to the family farm who gives you the chance. I enjoy watching while I have breakfast.
To bad one of the people running/working on the farm are not sharing videos on a YT channel or elsewhere. Lovely cinematic farmland, would be great to follow along outside harvest season as well. And in case they do, please inform me where to look it up, I would give it a watch for sure.
Nice video, but it lacks important info that viewers would like to know about. Example: yeld, fuel burn, speed etc. At least just film the monitor in the combine so the viewers can get a context of whats happening with the machines.
👍❤ 🎼🎶Nice musical interlude touch, "...somewhere in the middle of Montana. Give me all what's coming to me..." 🫎Feeling moose touch is a good luck sign, mercy. Sad to see 2024 harvest season soon to be ending. It sure would be nice to see some of the planting in these fields. 🇺🇸 🖼🌞🌟🚜

Dave is part of the family. He is a brother to Dennis. The spots you see would have been where water sat. The white are alkali seeps.
50" and 60" headers are getting to be popular these days

Do they harvest the straw? What do they do to prepare for the next crop? Do they rotate Winter vs Spring vs Barley? Please answer in a video for all.
They don’t harvest the straw. And I don’t know their rotation schedule with the winter wheat, spring wheat, barley and chem fallow.
I would hate having drill all that acreage with my 10' drill. I would be into the next summer before I would be done, lol.

Quite a few! I’ll try to remember to add a picture of where all the wildfires are. Lots of smoke!

Do they have any fall crops that they farm? Great video, love the wildlife photography xx
Nope. They will begin seeding their winter wheat crop next month.
Do they use an Air Drill to Plant the Crops?
Yes
Do the grain cart operators have cameras to watch how to fill the carts?
I think the carts have scales
The. Combines fill the carts. The tractor does have a scale. As long as the cart driver keeps a steady speed, the combine operator does the filling.
Do they plant there winter wheat in September? Thanks for video
Yes.
And good morning to you.
❤️
What mountains are in the background? Thanks.
The Highwoods.
Are you still cutting barley?
No
How many acres a day can you guys harvest with 4 combines
Depends. There are variables that determine that.
Tracy. Who lives at the actual farm?
