Man, you always the 1st..
I remembered I also watched your video about the 8 pro
I watched his review before i got 7 pro too. He always pops up when there is a new device from google
The t-shirt was chosen especially for this video, I think 😂😂😂
I love the new design. Looks great. And the build quality is excellent now too!
This video sample was def not processed the same - very smooth with nice color and details! :)
7:48 I don't think it's just about hand picking better camera sensors. I think they've been placing the cameras in the wrong order since the Pixel 6 series. It should've been this order (left to right): Ultrawide, Wide, Tele.
You're right 👍 A lot of professional photographers also pointed that out on RUclips.
Exactly, these sensors are all better than all sensors on iPhone so it can't be the problem, also the sensors are very far horizontally, unlike the competition where they are closer together,
This is the issue and for the life I don't understand why Google doesn't fix it... I don't typically zoom in video... But come on Google. Still buying
You can now choose manual mode under pro settings which makes it so that the phone doesn't switch between lenses when zooming and just sticks to the lenses you selected. The only limitation is, it will be limited by the zoom capability of that lens.
Waiting for my Pixel 9 ;)
Changing from Pixel 6 and It's still an incredible phone, but I'll give it to someone in my family (as an excuse to get the 9 tbh)
I wish the Pixel 9 Pro models had a matte back AND *_matte_*_ sides_
Google has to be like the iPhone in some way shape or form.
I wish that too! Glossy metal ist terrible! Luckily in the obsidian color, the sides are a bit darker...
The flat edges make it very user friendly and I think the grip in the field with the flat edges and the flat screens and the flat back make it very grippy can't wait to get this I just ordered it
Love the design, I cant wait to try it at a bestbuy. I'm skipping this year because my 7 is still working good but if they keep it up the 10 should be even better. Great video man.
Waiting for the 9 Pro XL! Thanks for the pre review.
been waiting for the embargo but you delivered first thanks!
The camera sensors are some of the best. It's not like a dedicated camera that zooms on one lens. Phones use multiple lenses to achieve what one lens does. It has to switch from ultra wide to wide to telephoto. One of the differences in a dedicated mirrorless camera and a phone.
I switched from a OnePlus to an iPhone five years ago. I recently went to a Verizon store to play with the new pixel and for the first time in a long time I can say that Google got my attention. The build quality is outstanding and I would put it on par with an iPhone 15 Pro. The operating system seems very smooth, but the only way that I would switch for sure is once I know how good the battery is in day-to-day use.
Already made it T-Mobile and Best Buy and the new design is gorgeous. The haptics are some of if not the best I've felt on a phone. I still don't understand why Google doesn't allow for 5x portrait mode shots like Samsung and Apple but the shots were very crisp. One thing I noticed is that not all Pixel phones in store have finished software. At T-Mobile the front facing camera output was crumchy and super contrasty but when i went to Best Buy that wasnt the case so i know it came down to software. Out of all the phones, i feel like they care less about Google the most because this has been happening for a while now. If someone doesn't know better they can believe that's the real quality you'd get from the camera when that's not the case. Anyway, great vid as always bro.
If we have Iphones as standard how video recording should look (and it has been like that forever), I don't know how Android companies can't achieve at least that same quality. It's always "it's the best video recording ever" and in reality as soon as you start to move the device or zoom video becomes choppy and everything starts to fall apart.
My 9 Pro xl arriving on Thursday. 👌🏻❤️
The video is stunning.
Michael I was waiting for your early access input and I have been dying to find out if: Pixel 9 records in 4K60 FPS in HDR? Before it was only 30 tops.
Edit: you just answered my question, thx. So brand new Pixel still can't do what a 4 year old iPhone 12 can do. What a disappointment.
Yesss! I was looking forward to your video! 😍
I remember you from last year with the Pixel 8!!!!
Welcome back 😁🙏
The video quality looks crazy good damn. Neither iPhone or Samsung reach this quality (I’m an iPhone 13 Pro Max user)
that was from the front camera ? omg the quality is amazing
It's a 42mp now
Only on the pro @@sickandloose
@@matthewhill4649 my area only can get the xl or regular 9. Idk if I shud pre order it lol. For the size I prefer the pro but xl seems a little price? But I not sure the final price for pro and xl will differ by how much margins
Bro you were the guy I watched about the 8 pro and now you're the guy I'm watching about the 9 pro xl lol
For many years always got excited for getting a pixel, but when released the reviews were disappointing or it was missing certain things. Finally bit the bullet when the 7pro came out and it disappointed me and I returned to the iPhone. Same happened with 8pro, had it for 6 months then returned to 15pro max. Have to admit the design of the pixel 9’s looks spot on. Love the more industrial look (like iPhone) with flat screen. Dilemma after being disappointed with the last 2 pixel pros do I try again or go with the iPhone 16 pro?
Google always cutting corners by being cheap with the hardware and claiming software can fix those issues.
Seems like you're just an IPhone guy, nothing wrong with that. I'd stick with what works best for you.
This review is so much better than the big tech reviewers
I got the pixel 9 pro xl traded my 8 pro. People talking about the G4 benchmarks don't understand how misleading benchmarks are. When pixels are as smooth as it gets and play some games at higher fps than the competitors. It's about developer's and optimization.
Nobody optimises for a terrible G4 with not even 1% market, far behind even Exynos 😂
@@sxepantFTW actually they do, games like standoff 2, league of legends, marvel contest, Minecraft, shadow fight 2, asphalt 9 just to name a few have been optimized for tensor ever since the pixel 6. I would've thought you knew that being you have so much accurate info 👍. COD and Apex legends often play at higher frame rates than the galaxy series as well.
@@sxepantFTW also that same G4 chip you mentioned in real world performed better that the S24 series . Reference " In Depth Tech Reviews" for side by side test of pixel 9 vs iPhone 15 pro vs S24 ultra.
Really considering getting the 9 Pro. Kinda done with the big phones (Galaxy S23 ultra, Redmagic 9 pro). Been waiting all year for this release.
Great first impression. Can't wait for you to do a full review.
New Subscriber as of right now haha.
Read a few ppl going back from large screens. I have the pixel 6 (6.4") acreen but i was tempted to go up to the XL. Why so you dislike the big screen?
@@bodrulm1 it's cool for watching videos, games and what not. But having to shove the thing in my pocket is a pain. Just feels like I'm lugging around a big brick.
I like that,
Apple: Buzzwords
Samsung: Festure Blast
About rhe flat edges, oeople forget that thr Nexus lineup had flat edges as eell.
Jumping from an iPhone X to a Pixel 9. Didn’t go for the pro as I don’t think I’ll need all the extra pro features. Just take a few pictures of my kids nothing fancy.
No, that is release software. I can order a pixel 9 and have it next day. The phone is in stores at the time of video upload
Depends on the battery. If the battery is not on par at least with my iPhone 15 pro max. Then I’ll just wait for the pixel 10 pro. That’s been the main issue with all the pixels I’ve purchased and then ended up returning them. (7 pro xl, 8 pro xl).
I have pixel 8 pro me last 2 days the battery is super good .
Tf is 8 pro xl?
It's amazing the influence Apple has on the tech industry. Google could've went with Ultra from Samsung but instead went with Pro like Apple.
Michael you always bring us the best video to help us decide on purchases.
Nice video Michael... Looking to buy the XL my self
Without comparing it to anything else, the video looks really good. But that zoom looks so janky.
I'm also wondering how the speakers sound?
A little louder and clearer than pixel 8 pro but still not as good as samsung s24u and iphone max. I tried them in a store. I think its close to my s21 plus but i like the samsung tuning better. (Fuller, warmer)
@@serrael-182 thank you. This is good to know, but still slightly disappointing. 😢
@@JustXavier hm speakers were clearly a weakness on the 8 pro for my ears and at least its a tiny improvement. I mean i could notice it in a noisy store. But yes hardware vise this phone seems a step below those true flagships, but thats what pixel always was.
That camera zoom suddenly change is not good. But still amazing software.
You can now choose manual mode under pro settings which makes it so that the phone doesn't switch between lenses when zooming and just sticks to the lenses you selected. The only limitation is, it will be limited by the zoom capability of that lens
Been waiting and asking forever for compact flagship from Google. Finally looks like they’ve done it. Regular 9 pro for me.
Horrible switching from lens to lens 😢
You can now choose manual mode under pro settings which makes it so that the phone doesn't switch between lenses when zooming and just sticks to the lenses you selected. The only limitation is, it will be limited by the zoom capability of that lens.
Yeah it's prereleased software. Hopefully it's much much better after the initial updates.
It's trash lol 😆
@rockowilson2320 no excuse ,. It's bad
if you use video boost with it the switching will be very smooth. look it up
Good points regarding iPhones
Wow, the video quality this year 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I watch your videos since pixel 6 series.. You are always 1st.. Appriciate it❤
How are the speakers have they improved this year?
I ordered the Px 9 Pro XL as an upgrade to the 7 pro . cannot wait until it's the 22nd
Why does the Pixel 9 front camera look better than the pro versions?
Because Google can't get their hardware and software teams to work correctly together, +they released the phones 2 months early there is no way that the software teams agreed, one proof is these early models are shipped with Android 14. Also the lens order is bad (one reason for the lens stutter, has to go from the zoom lens far right to the main lens far left, but they leave it because they can't get software and hardware teams to work together here.
They introduced new front camera sensors only for the pro models but again software teams didn't do their job to improve the new sensor, as a result the old one on the Pixel 9 looks better. It's always a bunch of little things like this that make me not like Pixels
Thanks for the video!!!
Team pixel has forced reviewers to prefer Pixel 9 series over other flagships....So to all, dont trust the reviews of the youtubers who were in the pixel event. Pixel 9 series still dont support portrait mode in real. They are still digitalized portrait
They changed that because of all the drama
Wdym it still doesn’t support portrait mode in real?
@@shreddedtwopack6625 yeap...you cant take portrait with the main optical lens
Is that a pixel watch 2 you have on? How has the pixel watch performed so far ? And do you think getting a pixel watch 3 or get the pw2 ? Let me know . Thanks !
The videos look nice and can compete or even beat the Iphone especially using the video boost.
Great to see you
Love from Bangladesh
Seems you are doing adverts for Galaxy fold/flip rather than showcasing a Pixel phone.
Cool video and cool shirt (how did you get that shirt?) 😁✌🏽
Pretty smooth as usual.
bro new sub here and ur the first to believe well done !!
I see you work for AT&T, I do too! AT&T recently stated they won’t be carrying the Pixel 9 Pro Fold unfortunately, so just something to keep in mind if you were gonna make a video with a demo unit :(
Video is not very shaky. Does P9 has stabilizer?
That stutter is not the sensor, there is software to ease the transitions. This is what Apple does. Great video, love that It is Pixel season!!
You can now choose manual mode under pro settings which makes it so that the phone doesn't switch between lenses. when zooming and just sticks to the lenses you selected. The only limitation is, it will be limited by the zoom capability of that lens
Thanks@@sickandloose
I've been waiting for your yearly pixel post.once again you never disappoint. thanks bro I appreciate you. I'm going in on Tuesday and really thinking about getting the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. See how much I can get for my iPhone 14 plus trade in? If I can get down to under a Grand.than I'll pull the trigger on the Fold 2.if not i think I'm gonna go with the Pixel 9 Pro. And I'll give the wifey my Pixel 8 Pro
I'm interesting in haptic feedback and the animation , is it good at pixel 9 series ?!
You mention that the glossy sides don't leave fingerprints but in the video. you can see that it's covered in fingerprints. I really wish the pro model didn't have the polished finish. This for me is one of the downsides of this years phone. I like that Apple did away with that on this years models. Google is still behind when it comes to design but they are catching up.
I'm waiting till the pixel 10
Getting the fold
I'm not into small phones because I had foldables so what would it feel like having a 6.3"this time around does it look and feel tall or worth having
Let's hope they have a great trade in promotion. I might want to trade my Pixel 7 Pro if they do....not holding my breath tho.
On Google's site, the trade in value for the 7pro is $540
Video has gotten better, but they still haven't fixed the zooming issue. I don't do video, so thia doesn't bother me, but I know it will not go down well with a lot of people. I'm still going to buy the 9 pro.
But apart form that, this is the sexiest phone out.
Is audio eraser as good as the speach enhancement? If so, you could record at 4k 60 and enhance the speach in post.
If I'm in the states I'll probably trade my phone and get it for free, but being in Canada makes it impossible for me as they don't offer a good trade in deals here. Even Google store Canada gives a much more decent deal on a 2 year old Pixel 7 Pro. At least a 7P gets a $460 Canadian value, whereas an 8 Pro gets maximum $500 in the Google store.
Waiting to see how the pixel 9 pro 4700 battery lasts?
Why do reviews always show camera everything 1st?
I feel like trading my iPhone 12 Pro Max for this. (Att free) if I use the 10 per month to trade in after 33% I can trade in no problem right? In case I don’t like the pixel 9 pro xl. I’m so deep into the Apple ecosystem but I’m also aware that I I only use my phone to text. Call. And browse the internet. I think it’s winning me over just on looks
I'm not buying a pixel 9 pro because the tensor G4 chip
Good for you
Nobody cares about you, shut up
Smart 🤓 Wait til Google starts using TSMC Snapdragon X1 series chips.
Goes to show what happens when you are a sheep and follow what everyone says
Perhaps go watch In-depth Tech Reviews comparison to 15pro max, 24ultra. Benchmarks are one thing, reality is another.
Heck apparently the 14pro of 15plus can't do Apple Intelligence yet older tensor and snaps likely be running nano, so all those benchmarks in years gone reviews, for what 🤣
I switched to IOS last year mainly because pixel just feels cheap in terms of design. With that being said it’s been largely torture having Siri as an assistant and voice to text is just speech detection in general on the iPhone is just trash. I’m a just a little bit to see how iOS 18 stacks up and if it’s up overpromise under developed or features that we won’t be getting for another six months then yeah pixels gonna be the deal
make a camera comparision video between iphone 15 and pixel 9
It's coming!
Thank you❤ you are great
Make camera comparision
Just purchased an iPhone and I think I’ll switch back to android with pixel 9 pro
can you test the Fold?
Pixel 9 pro is what I get - when you trade in your phone will it be immediately discounted on the phone or is it just a credit you get after you purchased the phone?
From their website, it seems like they refund you the trade in amount once they receive your phone.
It's a lot of Framedrops
What leather case are you getting? Ive been looking for a genuine leather case for pixels but most are for apple
Belroy has some great ones
i got the pixel 9 pro xl
Opinion : iPhone 15 plus to pixel 9 pro XL . Considered an upgrade? Am thinking of changing but am worried about the stuttering problem I heard
Yes it's an upgrade...
I have pixel 7 and my screen a cracked a little. I wonder if I should go for pixel 9 or S24, I can get the S24 at $100 less.
Why is this video not in 4k?
This video has showed me not to get the pixel and get the one plus 12 instead. The mic on the video of the pixel 9 is not great. A lot of the things the pixel 9 does is finally reaching the one plus and that phone is $400 cheaper.
Wait you said it’s aluminum sides and not steel? This might sound like a stupid question but is it possible to look like steel but be aluminum?
Yes
I really, really hate the flat sides. I was so disappointed when I saw Googe did this. I have the iPhone 15 pro max. That phone has flat sides and it is SO uncomfortable to hold. The only way I can stand it is to put a case on it. My Pixel 8 Pro is SO much easier to hold. I think it is the perfect design. I ordered the Pixel 9 Pro XL, but I am not looking forward to the flat sides. I just don't understand how anyone can like them...
I agree. Hate the flat sides
exynos 5300/5400 modems are horrible in compare to X75 modems , weak singnals drains battery like hell, pure junk.
a phone with SD8 SOC last 1,5-2 times longer in real world use so lowwr that 1 day for tensor=Exynos oder 1 day near up to 2 days in similar conditions with a SD8 + stable and great connectiivity.....
a phone that grants weaker connectivity then a 15 year old nokia/siemens, what the exynos does, and drains battery about there low qualiity SOC that is build in.... trash this phone thats it.
This is video lens switch better improve, the zoom in general, even the base plxel 9 with no zoom lens has a weird zoom
You can now choose manual mode under pro settings which makes it so that the phone doesn't switch between lenses when zooming and just sticks to the lenses you selected. The only limitation is, it will be limited by the zoom capability of that lens
Very disappointing imo... The camera transition is AWFUL as always and the face looks kinda smooth due to noise reduction 😢
Exynos by Samsung called Tensor 😂. I hope the Pixel 10 with TSMC has a different feel. Great camera but battery life hurts when you use the camera. They need to just go back to Snapdragon. I don't think Google is going to appreciate your advertising for Samsung in the video 😂. Oops. Did you sign the disclosure agreement?...
Wow would ya like some free cases?
A 'flagship' device that can't even shoot 4K 60 HDR video is not very impressive to be honest. I also hear that you can't manually adjust exposure on screen when shooting video on the Pixel 9 series?. You have to go in to some sub-menu?. Really, it just gets worse for me, as someone who loves shooting video. Even the speech enhancement goes in and out volume wise. It is a good job I am not in Team Pixel I guess, or I would be thrown out by my Buster Brown's..😬😬😅
unrelated to the video but i couldn't help but notice you have a very nice set of teeth😂😂
My concern for Pixel is battery life
Pixel 9 has better front camera than the pro, lol.
There is some kind of bloominh going on here. It just software
Or just my protector?
I might upgrade from my regular 7 to a 9 pro but I know I'm gonna be mad about that choppiness switching lenses when recording video, that's what the iPhone does better than anyone else and the whole camera UI smoothness is what makes using the camera feel much more premium, I wish the pixels get there already
You can now choose manual mode under pro settings which makes it so that the phone doesn't switch between lenses. when zooming and just sticks to the lenses you selected. The only limitation is, it will be limited by the zoom capability of that lens
@@sickandloose I totally understand that, but that's exactly my point, in the event that I do want to switch lenses while recording to take advantage of zoom capabilities, I'm gonna get a noticeable "stitch" or "cut" when the switch happens. Which is much smoother on iPhones or high end xiaomis if anyone still go for those...
🥰🥰🥰🥰
You can't say that "it feels the same as an iPhone" that could never be, the iPhone shortens many things that you can do freely and sophisticatedly on an Android and even more so when it comes to a Pixel. So don't come with that cheap story of comparing a sophisticated Pixel 9 with a blessed iPhone, stop talking nonsense, please be serious!
Do the 9 pro fold!!!!
its pretty good actually but still when it comes to video Iphone is ahead
I have the pixel 8 pro I think 🤔 I will keep it I was expecting better video 😢 sorry Google see u next year
Dont compare this phone to iphone😮😮. What is iphone?
