I love it! I like how real you are...I mess up all the time so you're as real as it gets! You don't get all dramatic about . You are real chill about it that's what I love about you!
Thank you! Rarely does a project go perfectly smooth for me, so I always try to salvage it in some way. Of course, it doesn't help that I often change up my plan halfway through the project. haha. I appreciate you! Thank you for watching! ❤️
I’m a butterfly fanatic… on my sunglasses, my watch band, on my curtains… I love your creation and can’t wait to try one of my own once I find the lacy paper butterflies! Fantastic job! Thank you very much for sharing!♥️🤗☘️
Very nice! I have some of these patterned papery laced items, I guess if I just want white, I should spray it before setting in the resin. Great ideas.. I’ll do one today.
Thanks, Deb! Temu has made me an influencer, but I'm not quite sure what that will mean. haha. I could order daily from them... even if I don't need anything. lol. So, I have to browse the site only if I plan on buying! Because there is ALWAYS something that I didn't know I needed. lol
Hello, some cameras are different direction than yours ,show both, facing yourself then upside down please, that butterfly is so so pretty,I thought your thoughts about the finish itself was spot on,I liked each step and idea you thought of doing.Very creative, maybe even I can do this one day.Happy creating,God Bless !! 👍🦋🙂
Hi Dawn, thank you for the comment and for watching.. :) Yeah, my camera angle is a bit of a problem, and I'm hoping to rearrange my studio so that I can work on that and the lighting. Thank you for the comments on the butterfly.. I really enjoyed making that. ❤️
Thank you, Adam! I refuse to shop Wish, Ali Express, or a couple of others. Temu has been so much better, and I have no complaints. I shop there often.. weekly or more.
Thank you for sharing your technique for this butterfly creation. I was not fond of the black background. I would have preferred some variation of blue. But, each to their own personality. As a coaster for drinks or a tray for earrings, this creation has many potentials. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Car. I chose black because of the super chameleon mica powders . that was the sole reason for that color choice. Blue would have been beautiful, and I may try that next time! :)
Hi Roberta! Welcome! I'm in AZ now but from Oregon originally! I love the Spokane area. :) I hope you have fun with these ideas! There are just so many possibilities!! Let me know what you decide to try. ❤️. Thank you for watching! 😀
@@resinnut9335 I lived in Kingman AZ for a brief time back in the mid 90s .I am very new to epoxy resin, only a few things under my belt so far, but I am already good at judging how much resin that is needed, and no issues with bubbles, I am pretty good with UV resin too,I have even made polymer beads that go with my necklaces, as I do mixed media and jewelry as well ,oh some wire work too ,I am getting ready to do wind chime, and beaded plant sticks for mothers day 😀
That turned out beautiful! I wouldn’t have thought to even try putting those cutouts in resin. The UV worked great, coating the whole butterfly in UV and then detail painting it with acrylics would be fun too. I’ve wondered if mixing a mica or a color shift with something like a Dura Clear varnish would work to ‘paint’ a mold.. instead of dry brushing it on? It would be easier to control, especially if it’s something like a dragons eye. I think it would need to be completely dry before pouring resin. Lia Dia has mixed glitter and Dura Clear but, I don’t think she’s mixed mica with it. It’d probably be best to try it with an old mold first.😆 Great job! Thanks for sharing such creative ideas.😊
Thank you, Edite. I'll have to look into those! I guess the paper saves resin, but it would be fun to create my own lace with the molds, too! Thank you!
Thank you, Lori! Someone else mentioned embossing paste! I need to look into that and have some on hand for next time! Thank you... I had never heard of the paste til now! ❤️
A spray adhesive might have worked or painting with a foiling glue. Embossing ink might have worked too. Also, if you used like a black pigment ink and then sprinkled with mica, that might be cool. I would check into anything that stampers/cardmakers use for embossing, stenciling, foiling.
Or spray adhesive? Do you think guiding glue would work and not fall apart while adding gold leaf??? Guess I will try that one next month after my temu order comes in,now I need to add maulty colored leafing lol
@@resinnut9335 you are most welcome!!! I have to use the nitrile gloves as I’m allergic to latex… ugh… I made the mistake of putting the wrong gloves on ONCE,,,, never again…. Nearly blinded me and killed me… thank God I had an epi-pen available!!!!
Sparkle is pretty in background but not on topcoat. I’ve made that mistake and learned from it. Your butterfly coaster is very nice overall. ❤ can you try a matte black background with a mica colored lace insert? I’d love to see that.
QUESTION! This is beautiful! Does the resin harden the paper. These look like they are laser cut die cuts, very pretty! Have you tried the mica powders from Temu? New subbie
Hi Created! These do look laser cut. I have a Crìcut (still in the box. Oo) and thinking I need to learn how to use it so that I can try to do these? I literally just received a large order yesterday from Temu and will be trying their mics powder and UV resin. Will post a video of that... maybe as soon as this Thursday. Thank you! ❤️
Ok this is so cool i want to try this you ars the first one i saw using resin on paper before sealing it first also i usually use heat to pop bubbles i didnt know you could use alcohol so im excited to try this technique i have my own die cut machine so i have everything at my fingertips
I think you put the butterfly in wrong side down. The side you painted is facing the black, so the final visible image is showing quite a bit of raw paper. Unless that was your intent?
I always use tack it over n over to color with mica powder. Turned out beautiful!❤
Great idea!! Thank you! ☺️
That turned out really pretty. I love the extra little sparkle in the top coat and the gold edge. Now, I have to get some lace paper butterflies 😅.
Thank you, Lisa! There are so many pretty lace papers!! Oo. Let me know if you try it! :)
Love the butterfly so very beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I have never had a problem hearing you on a video
Thank you so much Geneva! 💓

Oooohh! That did turn out cool! Butterfly pops against the dark background!
Thank you so much! I was worried it'd be too dark! ♡

Maybe a very thin coat of diluted clear glue would make the mica powder adhere. This is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
That's a great idea!! It would save on the UV Resin too. I'll try that!
Lovely!!
Thats outstanding. Been cautious about about using temu because wish is kind of a nightmare. Will give it a try

Thank you, Maddie! I'm excited for the next experiment with this lace paper! 😍
New sub here from Spokane Valley Wa 😊I already have a almost $100 order ,now I just have to add the lace paper designs 😀

Use Versa ink for embossing powder to make the powder stick.

TBH in the beginning I was a bit skeptical. 😮 But, as usual you pulled it all together & the outcome is beautiful ❤. Thank you. 😊
Thank you Belinda! 😊
Very cute! That's a bummer your mold is matte tho. You'll have to get a new one! Or make one! 💙
Thanks Dawn! Yeah... maybe I SHOULD try to make one!! 🤔 Thank you for the idea!
It would Mack a cool lamp by lighting it through the clear apoxy
Great idea, Kirsten! :)
There are actually molds, fondant type, that recreate lace-like patterns, including butterflies.
Thank you, Edite. I'll have to look into those! I guess the paper saves resin, but it would be fun to create my own lace with the molds, too! Thank you!
@@resinnut9335 They are very shallow molds.
Clear polish might help it stick?
That's a great idea, Juanita! Thank you! ☺️
I love it!💜 Im sure you probably all said it but ehere do you get yhe lace stencils,,? Thanks!
Hi Debbie, there is a link to 2 different places in the description. :) Let me know if you have trouble finding it.
Using an embossing ink or gum Arabic will help mica powder to stick to paper
Thank you, aj! I need to have some of those things on hand!
Could you use the clear embossing paste on the butterfly. The powders are meant to me used in that way also.
Thank you, Lori! Someone else mentioned embossing paste! I need to look into that and have some on hand for next time! Thank you... I had never heard of the paste til now! ❤️
That's really pretty, Can you color in the empty spaces like a stained glass effect?
I think I'm going to try something like that this week. Thanks, Pam! ❤️

I wonder if spraying a light coat of mold release on your paper would help the mica stick?
It came out beautiful! ❤

I just found your videos and love watching! What kind of resi do you use? I wanted to say thank you, I look forward to seeing more.
Hi Deanna! I use JDICTION resin, and there is a link in the description. :) Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@resinnut9335 Thank you, I think I'll try it.
Sparkle is pretty in background but not on topcoat. I’ve made that mistake and learned from it. Your butterfly coaster is very nice overall. ❤ can you try a matte black background with a mica colored lace insert? I’d love to see that.
Thanks for the tip, Denise! And thank you for watching. ❤️

Yes! the resin cured hard on this piece, so the paper is stiff. :)
@@resinnut9335 ooooo yes, pull that cricut out! Eager to see the mica powders. Most of their products have not disappointed me.
Why did you spray the mold with alcohol first ive never seen it before?

Hi Donna, I spray the mold first to help avoid bubbles near the surface of the mold. Using the paper can be really fun! Let me know what you try! :)
❤❤❤
Thanks, Dorota! ❤️
❤
❤ Thanks Maeve!
You probably could have painted a coat of modge podge on the butterfly, let it dry, then the micro powder would have stuck
It is very pretty as is😊
That's a great idea! I'll try that! thank you. ☺️
I think you put the butterfly in wrong side down. The side you painted is facing the black, so the final visible image is showing quite a bit of raw paper. Unless that was your intent?
Hi Harry, I turned the butterfly over when I placed it in the tray so that it would be facing right side up. :)
You might be able to mod podge it first.
Thank you! I'll try that! :)
When you went to the Mike, you were much quiter and very hard to hear with my phone on total volume.
Oh no, Diana! I'm so sorry. I think my sound is finally figured out. If you watch today's, let me know if you can hear that one better.
Can't hear you on your new mic
Thank you.. I have a much better one since that video. :)
