Nothing will ever change unless a certain group is held accountable for their privileged and intentional behaviors.
Yes, criminals.
🌚
The politicians in SF, the country, state and Feds whom enable this ?
🤔 I detect a subtle racist implication
U mean blacks?
Lots of people have given up on reporting crime as the city doesn’t care. So a lack of reporting does not mean lack of crime
MAYBE A LACK OF SIN
I wouldn't call it crime or smash and grab or shoplifting. I would call it African American express check out, or shoppers taking advantage of the black discount or 1:30 I would call it the black community celebrating Martin Loot-her King Day
I reported as soon as I saw my SUV broken into but I was told to report online and they wouldn't be able to come out for investigation unless they were provided CCTV footages which I did not have. I reported online, they reviewed and approved it for my insurance purpose. No wonder this privileged class never stops what they do.
they will do jugging and steal your cell phone

Seriously, people don't file reports as much anymore. It's been years, we know they're not gonna investigate 20k break-ins...so now I got my window broken and I've got an errand to fill out a report for no reason too?
Indeed, the little crimes escalate and you see a emboldened criminal element
Exactly, your on vacation, and your going to spend hours getting a police report filled out that you know is going no where? I don't get why this isn't immediatly brought up when the police say "oh, there's less breakins". No, there's not, anyone who lives in the city knows that's simply not true.
Kind of weird logic. Are you saying people weren't tired of reporting back when there was more crime?
@@GnomesRox
San Franciscans don't have faith in sfpd/850 bryant to address crime in the way they once did. Are you from SF?
Another reason the numbers are skewed is because so-called "progressive" cities fudge crime numbers by recording crimes as lesser than what has been committed, e.g. trespassing instead of breaking and entering.
I met a friend for dinner in SF on Friday night. I had to drive my car into the city. Before I left my house, I literally had to "empty" my car of everything- an emergency kit I keep in the car, a jacket, a small back pack I keep with blankets, dog leashes, etc. It was so annoying. I only do this because my car has been broken into in SF over 7 times. After the fist 3 times it happened I stopped reporting. SF is ridiculous. Can't wait to leave.
I bet you've been voting liberal since you've lived there...and you still wonder why Frisco is a sewer.
I think the answer is to meet elsewhere.

Back then the only scary place to be was near the gang areas in the Mission, now it's the whole city. We have a Mayor and a Governor that doesn't give a shit until China had to come to the city. They cleaned up the city in less than a day then suddenly went back to a messy place once Xi left. It's embarassing. SF is the new Gotham.

Businesses have voted with their feet. The statistics showing a “decline” in crime statistics reflect a decrease in reporting of these crimes by the victims, as this video states near the end. People have given up on the city. Even internationally, San Francisco is known for its high rate of theft and robberies.

Your first failure is that people don't report crime in SF. There is no point. The cops never come, if they do, nothing happens because they know they will be back on the street the same day.

Top San Francisco officials to discuss solutions (other than enforcing the law and harsher penalties) to rampant shoplifting, smash-and-grab robberies. I guess that is what you call “Do something!” Of course the statistics are skewed! My son a SFPD officer for over 15 years has arrested many of the same people over the years. Many times after taking the criminal to jail they get released because the criminal claims they are the soul care giver for the invalid parent or small child. SF Bay Area resident here. OK, I'm just airing this out, but for Crime Stats, I'm wondering if there is some manipulation here. For example, plenty of arrests are made, BUT if the suspect/accused/defendant is found 'not-guilty', then it's not a 'crime' right? So...how accurate are the crime statistics? I say this because I've lived in the SF Bay Area all 40-something years of my life. My family owns a business here. We never had problems with smash and grab crimes til COVID, Our business was broken into several times in the span of 3 years during the COVID years and post COVID. So is it true that some 'get-away-with-it' if they are never charged officially with the crime and found guilty of it? Just 'catch and release' as the nay-sayers complain about?
There is definite manipulation here. The first thing to consider is that a lot of victims no longer bother to report, since it's likely that nothing will/can be done after the fact. Also, when you essentially decriminalize a lot of things (open drug use, shoplifting, etc) they don't make the list. So on paper, crime is down, but the reality is that it's actually up quite a bit. That's my take.
@@Poundingsand Agreed about the under-reporting. When the hate crimes targetting Asians went up during the COVID years, the police even admitted that many Asian victims of crime don't even report it. I hope that has changed since that kind of response would only embolden criminals to continue and target even more Asians if the criminal thinks they can get away with it.
According to Gavin Newsom during his debate with Ron DeSantis, he said this is one of the items that "they" have been discussing for a long time. No game plan yet, but "they" are talking and talking and talking and talking ...

We need a national program to help people move to other towns/cities with a lower cost of living. I imagine if some folks lived in a place that was more affordable, some of them would be less motivating to act out like this. We need to uphold laws !
Sure, but I'm describing an idea that I could be preventative.@@gavindaly5731
Suppose there was suddenly all the money and resources to tackle this, where to start? Its a vicious circle:
A) Shoplifting & car theft are the easiest, fastest way to fund a drug habit.
B) The same perps operate in the same neighborhoods. They are arrested, put thru Court, and back out on street, like a revolving door.
C) Even if all were arrested at the same time, and made to DO time, there's nowhere to send them.
D) Because everywhere is full, understaffed and short of funding.
E) Meanwhile, who on earth would want to work in policing or prisons anymore at any price? Body cams now show us all that police have to put up with. Totally demoralizing to be spit at, kicked, threatened & cursed by the same people they arrested 2 days before, out to fund their drug habit that needs a fix every few hours.
Which brings us back to A) ... There's a song about that.
Also a song about SF, where I and millions of others lost our heart*. Still one of the World's greatest tourist destinations, with a downtown worth saving. (*She was from Paris, we went to see Hair, shopped at Magnin's ... sigh).
It's journalist like her that are the problem. She reports what the city tells her. She should go to the people and ask why they stop reporting crimes.
If she really believes that the crime rates have dropped, you know she doesn't live in the city.
"We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas"
Here's a solution, legalize lethal property defense.
Thank you for your analysis. I’m my mind crime that was once contained to one area has now expanded to wealthier pockets and those people have more access to the city to demand change.
Same thing in Los Angeles, just happened at the Arcadia mall. Ever been to the Glendale Galleria? Security everywhere and I thank God. "Poverty, systemic racism, white colonialism, and historical factors" *ARE NOT ANSWERS ANYMORE.* The vast majority of this is caused by the one's *ABSOLUTEY NOBODY* is allowed to criticize and everybody is obligated to coddle.
After slavery they just became rich enough to not feel the need to steal? I would put a thieves head under a boot, but I don't think you understand the issue. Even the ones with 2 working class parents are influenced by the music of the poor ones with 1 or no parents living on welfare. The uglier they are in appearance, mind and degenerate style of clothes, the harder life is for them.
Part of it is genetics on the neurological level, like father like son. A man produces chemicals in his brain based on his experiences which changes the neurological path structures of his brain that connect different areas of the brain. How good people solve problems versus how bad people do it. The man then has a son with some of his features and the mothers features. Inside and out, physically in the face and neurologically in the brain, the child is like mother and father.
Sometimes you get you mothers hair and fathers nose. Mothers ears and fathers eyes. Sometimes you get your mothers good natured mind before her trauma abuse of being kidnapped by another tribe to have babies, other times you get your fathers mind .
Some tribes were raiders with kidnapped women for wives, basically ancient involuntary celibates, they are the ugly whose bodies and faces are typically as they show to be as ugly as their minds in their criminal mugshots. In a way, whether by awareness or nature, this was the ugly raider tribes way of gaining beauty in the body and mind, because they were good women with values. Kept from other tribes due to breeding with a walking physical deformity.
Its a complex issue, where part of it being ugly makes them angry, makes them feel entitled. All types were enslaved, then interbred of raiders who kidnapped the original slaves in exchange for old muskets that were ready or already wood rotting with rust. Which made the raider tribes easier to enslave when colonists betrayed their business partners. Imagine violent raiders, built into their genetics enslaving kinder weaker minded Africans who did not come from generations of warriors.

Why'd they leave sfpd
People don't report anymore because people know, at large, nothing will happen. Your car gets broken into, and the police won't come. Instead, you fill out an online report. Now, we see car break-ins as a personal problem - meaning you were stupid enough to leave something visible in your car. When it comes to drug use, don't even get me started; we've become so used to seeing literal Zombies walking around town. So yes, the numbers are "down," but at large, we won't get a real picture since most of the crimes they're reporting go unreported as NOTHING ever happens.
You want real concrete change SF - pressure to remove prop 47. We don't need more police officers; we need instead to keep judges and the DAs accountable and get rid of those officials who fail to do their job.
Look at those your interviewing, the city has gone totally ghetto!..

Good report, but I think the stats are basically useless. I know of a friend who suffered break-ins post-pandemic and didn't bother reporting it. Just called a window company to have the window replaced. Reporting a crime in SF has become a waste of time, once you realize "the system" will do nothing to catch the criminal.
In fact, if they start enforcing the laws again, the stats might actually increase for a year or two, since people realize that reporting a crime will actually do something.
But in reality, I don't think anything will change. The Democratic/Socialist party that controls our big cities actually wants this shambolic situation, it allows them to maintain control over a system of graft and corruption within the city government for their party loyalists in the homeless industrial complex to profit from. They can more easily hide this corruption within the general chaos of the area.

The big rise in shoplifting and assaults came with the murder of George Floyd. Some people adopted the idea that they were victims, that they deserved things, and that they had to get even with innocent people for some perceived personal wrong. As the riots and mayhem grew the authorities stood down - often under orders from elected officials. The criminal way of life was paying off and the turning point has come, now here to stay and embedded into our culture. Very tragic for our collective future.
This is stupid. They should have been discussing this YEARS ago and a solution should already be in place. This just proves their incompetence. We don't need to know about how they are "holding discussions", we need RESULTS. PR stunt without results.
