***** Yeah... With Dollywood getting a top-notch RMC "original" (as I like to call them) they are really going to stand out in the theme park industry.
I love the nostalgic feel that this park gives. The old wood coasters are small, but thrilling. Phantom's Revenge is one my favorite coasters ever. However, last time I went to Kennywood in 2014, the ride operators were not very personable. They never said anything and they looked like they would have rather been somewhere else. Not to mention they were also really slow. It's still a charming park though, with some super rare attractions.
PichuBlues92 if you only knew how they treat their employees...I used to work there in food and beverage and it was atrocious at what they had us deal with and do...
All the 2010s pop music playing in the background definitely made me feel nostalgic. I haven't been to this park SINCE 2015, when this video was filmed. Up until 2015, I'd been to this place once a year. Idk why I stopped going. A decade later, I'd love to return, but I believe the park has changed a lot since this video was recorded. I'm 23 right now, wish I could "turn back time to the good old days".
As someone who lives in Pittsburgh and has gone to Kennywood fairly regularly, here are a few fun facts! 1. The Volcano is almost never open, and if it is, there's only like. Three people on it. 2. You WILL get the siren from Bayern Curve stuck in your head, and it WILL blast in your ear at some point. 3. You don't have to go to The Potato Patch for Potato Patch fries. All the fries in the park (except for at Johnny Rockets') are the same. 4. The guy at the Toilet Bowl game will slip you free quarters if you're on a losing streak and you cry hard enough. (Note: this only worked while I was under the age of 16) 5. Don't trust the bins to hold your stuff. Keep it between your legs if you can. 6. There's a sister water park called Sandcastle. I've never been, but I've been told it's fun if incredibly disgusting.
Thanks for doing such a wonderful walk through of my home park. I grew up with it and go there every year, even did a six year stint working on the Thunderbolt. Makes me so wish that it wasn't November right now. Sadly I'll be missing the parks Holiday Lights time this year. They are open for Fri-Sun during December. Its so much fun walking through there with the park all decorated with lights and decorations. All the different colored lights in the trees and such make the park even more beautiful than it is in the summer.
Hi Taylor, I live just 3 1/2 hours from Pittsburgh. In fact Pittsburgh is home to my favorite NFL football team. I never made it out to Kennywood but I am hoping to... someday... Jack Rabbit is the oldest rollercoaster at Kennywood. It opened in 1924. I forget the years Racer and Thunderbolt open. I can go on the history of Kennywood but, I am not. Looking forward to your next coaster road trip. I hope you enjoy yourself and the weather cooperates. I keep in touch with your channel.
Very nice. I worked at Kennywood 30+ years ago when I was an undergrad. The hidden gem that you mentioned just in passing was the Auto Race. Big clunky metal racing cars styled from the 1930’s with tight curved track contained in wooden walls that that the driver can steer to avoid but which the cars will bang against if the driver loses control (which is often intentional). As of May 2019 - the log flume ride is gone and that area now has a new hypercoaster [The Steel Curtain] with a weird metal yellow support design with tons of track inversions.
A bit hard to watch due to the too-rapid pans back and forth. Would've liked some time showing the rides. But I grew up in Pittsburgh and played in "The Electrons" R&B band who released "It Ain't No Big Thing" in '67. I now live in Gold Canyon, Arizona.
Kennywood park was where our school district would have the yearly school picnic. My Dad's company would have their company picnic at Idlewild Park. After experiencing Kennywood, Idlewild was a letdown. My first time at Kennywood was, I'm gonna say when I was in 1st grade, so that would have been 1959/60... long ago... but regardless, it was always fun. By the way, the school district was *HEMPFIELD* .. lol I tell folks I graduated from Hempfield High and they go.. *huh*
Got season passes for the whole family for the 2020 season! Although I’ve been to the park with my wife before we were married, this is the first time I’ve ever bought season passes. This will be the first time going to a park for the kids so I know they are excited ! Definitely looking forward to April 25 opening day for season pass holders! Hopefully this coronavirus dies down by then!! See y’all at the park!!
I look forward to another kennywood video once the Steelers coaster is open! Kennywood is one of my favorite parks, less than 2 hours away. I LOVE the historical charm. Did you forget to show the Turtles? There's a really nice view from that ride.
I love Kennywood so much, it is such a family-friendly park that isn't like others. Kennywood gives off a family vibe unlike other that give off thrill vibes. The only complaint though is that there food is overpriced.
Well it has to be triple of 40 acres, because where I live Playland Amusement Park is about 128 aces, and Kennywood is about two and a half times large than that.
When did they add "body dryers" to the park? It used to be if you went on a water ride you just had to walk around soaking wet for the rest of the day lol.
3:56 the guy's like look someone is filming mother, i'm gonna b famuss!!! i'm origanally from West Mifflin, literally right over the hill, parking lot side. school st. boyz, or n e 1 who knows me from that area, will know these initials, thanx 4 the memories.
Do you think we will be seeing EA in all Cedar Fair parks? Will the Triotech dark rides be themed? The most likely brands to be used are Battlefield and Plants v. Zombies.
The Skycoaster (freefall swing ride above the lagoon, not Sky Rocket, the coaster at the front of the park) is an up charge ride. You can have from one to three people at a time. The more people you have, the less each person has to pay. Also the paddle boats on the same lagoon are an up charge. Those are the only two rides like that.
Wow this is a time capsule now. I'm so glad this exists!
One of the biggest underdogs of the whole amusement park industry.
***** Yeah...
With Dollywood getting a top-notch RMC "original" (as I like to call them) they are really going to stand out in the theme park industry.
Kennywood is my home park!
ZOOMBIRD SAME
ZOOMBIRD me too 😐
Same I've rode every ride
Same bro
Mine to and I might be going today ☺️

I used to visit this park decades ago as a kid, was the highlight of my year!
The looks that kids give you because they see you filming are priceless 😂😂😂
Ikr
I live 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh and have been a Steelers fan my entire life. I am so excited for the steelers country area and Steel Curtain.

Don't you mean lil
its ruff for adults so i know it is hard core for kids

That Guy on the Left the little phantom isn't bad at all but the phantom revenge I hate

Alot of new rides great to see some rides from when i was a child
Damn I’m getting nostalgic vibes from the songs on in the background
yeah same, I've gone here just about every year since I was little.
I was in line for Volcano at KD when it got hit by the raccoon...I saw people cleaning off the front car when we were exiting.
Adventureland was filmed there, what an awesome place

Lots of memories from this place.

Wow i remember when i was a kid every year we would come here for our school picnic
Kennywood park was the best when I was a kid in the 70's !!!!
We need an updated version

I can't wait to go in August! My family and I always go there in August every year! I'm psyched to ride the Paratrooper!
I go every summer! Since I was a little baby! Tomorrow I'm going with my best friend 😁
I live in London and go full park every week. Me and my friends always sneak in
Going tommarow! So stoked!!!!
A bit hard to watch due to the too-rapid pans back and forth. Would've liked some time showing the rides. But I grew up in Pittsburgh and played in "The Electrons" R&B band who released "It Ain't No Big Thing" in '67. I now live in Gold Canyon, Arizona.
Cool! Beautiful park!
I love Kennywood, and I agree that the Phantom is your favorite ride there! I love it! ^^
I'm a Pittsburgh steelers fan so I was born there and I go there so many times a year
miss coming out of that tunnel and being greeted by the sounds of the turnpike cars
Kennywood park was where our school district would have the yearly school picnic. My Dad's company would have their company picnic at Idlewild Park. I like to think he ran the kid over at 18:52
Lolol
Looks like some Kennywood reviews and things like that are coming up soon! Can't wait to see what you think of my home park!
Can't wait to go on August 16 2016. I live about 45mins away from Kennywood
I went last year. I live about the same distance away, in Ohio. I hope you have fun!
+Charlie Riser thx I live in Pennsylvania though
My favourite ride is the Music Express
Kenna Knopsnider mine 2
what a charming park this is. Easily the most charming in Pennsylvania. And Phantom's Revenge is AMAZING
I want to go to Kennywood and ride Phantom's Revenge
Johnnie G Cool.
+Johnnie G It's amazing... ride it in the back... it's the best ever!
The food kiosk that sold funnel cakes was a must stop, always..
Man that 50s resteraunt is great!
14:00 STOP ITTTT
I think that was my autistic brother
I love kennywood its great. It is very popular in my area

Miss the Old mill, haunted hideaway ❤💛
I do to...I loved that ride
Got season passes for the whole family for the 2020 season! Although I’ve been to the park with my wife before we were married, this is the first time I’ve ever bought season passes. Volcano 1 is broken. Lol, the park still looks relatively the same as I remember it. Good video!
Love that park!
I look forward to another kennywood video once the Steelers coaster is open! Kennywood is one of my favorite parks, less than 2 hours away. I LOVE the historical charm. Did you forget to show the Turtles? There's a really nice view from that ride.
My fav rides are the black widow, arrow three sixty ,phantom, and we'll all of them actually I ❤️ KENNYWOOD!!!! I go every August 2nd or sometimes 1st
Is August 2 your birthday? That's mine and I loved spending my birthdays there when I was little.😊
Just a little warning; Johnny Rocket's is mildly expensive. It was a little over $50 for 3 burgers and some fries. They are however really good.
I love it keep up the good work
Kennywood is very similar to Blackpool Pleasure beach. It’s got a mobius loop, two other woodies, a launched coaster and a arrow hyper!
I came here when I was like 5 and obviously I was too short to go on the phantoms revenge so I just rode the little phantom like 40 times
I love this park, I visit it often it makes a great time went with friends
My childhood we went here once a year
I love Kennywood so much, it is such a family-friendly park that isn't like others. Kennywood gives off a family vibe unlike other that give off thrill vibes. The only complaint though is that there food is overpriced.
skyrocket or skyrocket II?
Skyrocket II
Jeffrey Kim Yeah, Kennywood sadly got the original design. Not terrible, but not great either
You missed one nook of the park: the area where the historic Turtle ride is.
I can't wait to go here next year for my first visit and rude phantoms revenge
Well, I know it's not exactly a gentleman, but it's manners aren't that bad.
Black widow, aero 360, sky rocket, Phantom are my fav
Sophie K My brother hated Aero 360, then love it, now hates it from the last upside down thing since your there for over 5 seconds
I'm going tomorrow for kennywood picnic😝😍
How Do You go To Place To Place Its Amazing !
Wow, Kennywood is huge. Looks just as big as Disneyland.
D's vebasgxm
not even close kennywood is about 40 acres if i remember correctly
Well it has to be triple of 40 acres, because where I live Playland Amusement Park is about 128 aces, and Kennywood is about two and a half times large than that.
its 80 acres i just looked it up my bad
My home Park!
Taylor Swift playing in the beginning though 😍 My two favorite things Taylor and Kennywood

The entrance going under the road reminds me of lake compounce
Yet another excellent walkthrough video. Keep doing them! Do one of Six Flags Great Adventure if you can!!

Garfield’s nightmare isn’t quite what I would call a Classic 😂
Almost time for Steel Curtin to open. 😀😀😀
Cool episode you did good
A when you're at Kennywood, you'll never forget what park you're in 😜
When did they add "body dryers" to the park? It used to be if you went on a water ride you just had to walk around soaking wet for the rest of the day lol.
I miss it here
I just went today it was great
I love kennywood
do you now if kennywood is opened next month
3:56 the guy's like look someone is filming mother, i'm gonna b famuss!!! i'm origanally from West Mifflin, literally right over the hill, parking lot side. school st. boyz, or n e 1 who knows me from that area, will know these initials, thanx 4 the memories.
Garfields Revenge is not a Kennywood classic. The Old Mill is...was.
they need to bring back the old mill that was my childhood and family tradition you ride that first then the turnpik... oh wait :(
Do you think we will be seeing EA in all Cedar Fair parks? Will the Triotech dark rides be themed? The most likely brands to be used are Battlefield and Plants v. Zombies.
I love my home park
Same!
thanks for posting, what month was that when you took the video?
The Phantoms Revenge was my fourth ever coaster and my coaster that over came my fear I rode it at 7 years old
Are Kennywood's attractions up charge?
The Skycoaster (freefall swing ride above the lagoon, not Sky Rocket, the coaster at the front of the park) is an up charge ride. You can have from one to three people at a time. The more people you have, the less each person has to pay. Also the paddle boats on the same lagoon are an up charge. Those are the only two rides like that.
What's your camera gear?
And the arrow 360+ the sky liner
My favorite ride is Cosmic Chaos
