his part in "Trilogy" was legendary
Gino's always seemed like a great guy, his part with B.A in
that first SB video is still one of my favorites. That being said, he comes
off as a sour pompous guy in this interview with the negativity towards Chocolate.
Yes they're always getting guy's with incredible talent & marketability on the team while producing
skate footage with more of a cinematic feel to it, but that's nothing new as opposed to when he jumped
on board those 20 something years ago.Even if they are adding up & coming young guns on the team,
Chocolate still supports their Veteran riders like Justin Eldridge & Chris Roberts by giving them boards. Those
guys don't exactly have some sort of legend status like Gino, Kenny or Marc so it just shows their down for their guys.
If he was questioning his worth at the Crailtap camp that was all on him, but then again I can see how thoughts like that
would creep up in your head. Regardless he seems like he's got more of a positive outlook on skating, but I'm not holding my
breath for Gino footage in the near future.
Great episode RIDE, better than just hearing someone say how stoked they are on blah blah blah

well, Justin Eldridge had an amazing part for Pretty Sweet that wasnt used in the movie...
+chiefmachine24 I agree, i watched/read other interviews after he left Chocolate and he always seemed ungrateful, even saying things like he never felt totally comfortable with the team.
I instead think that the guys who he didn't felt comfortable with gave him a pro model for 20 years.
From 2002 to 2014, when he left, after the Yeah right he brought to the table only some tricks in Hot Chocolate and ten years later in Pretty Sweet, he wasn't exactly being the marketable guy for the team, he produced barely nothing compared to nowadays standards. But still the guys at choco loved him and kept him on the team, supported him when he was an alcoholic, Rick Howard picked him up and took him to rehab, always keeping his pro model out, they did all this things when every other company on earth would have kicked him out, and with good reasons.
Hearing his lack of gratitude towards Chocolate it's definitely a turn off for me, I am a fan of him since 101 Snuff, go figure.
From such a stylish guy on a skateboard I wouldn';t expect such a loss in style when speaking about his former team/friends.
+invisible bastard I think I heard somewhere that Eldridge didn't like most of his own footage and didn't want them to use it in the video and that's why he didn't have a part. I'm not 100% sure on that but I think that's what happened.

The problem with girl/chocolate is they became corporate , they are still down for their riders but just like what Gino said "always looking for new talent" that would make me wanna quit ...FA is so much sicker than girl chocolate , Gino made the right move ,

let's just face it, after Yeah Right Gino did nothing to be kept in the team, but still he left, he wasn't kicked out or pushed at the margin from new skaters, as he says.
He didn't fucking put out anything, didn't film, didn't skate, he took on the bottle, but they kept checks and his pro model going........then he got sober, filmed some (for him) easy tricks for Pretty Sweet, waited for the 20th Chocolate anniversary celebrations to be done and then left............yeah, it may have been the right move for him but from another point of view hes just been selfish and ungrateful....
+Nick Benza VEry well said. Gino has been one of my favorites for a very long time but what you said is 100% correct. I remember the Chocolate Epicly Laterd when MJ said that everyone who's left/kicked or been bitter lately has all the same things in common. He didn't mention what those were but it was obvious to me he meant drugs/booze/not skating. Lets face it, Gino has been all the above since Yeah Right which was 12 years ago. This is all coming from someone that used to and still does think that Gino's style is the best ever. He may have had some pressure from the young kids and I'd say Guy who's been on a rampage since Fully Flared at the same age but probably didn't wanna mention that but after seeing the way they look after the lowkey pros they have on Chocolate especially, I'd say that's coming from himself instead of Rick and Mike.
I'd say Gino could film 5 clips a year he'd still keep his board and his status at Chocolate for life, but if he's happy - I'm happy for him.
