- In 2009, Leica Camera released the Leica M8 ‘White Edition'. Limited to only 275 sets for the worldwide market, the edition included a Leica M8 camera painted white and covered in white leather, and a very special Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH lens in silver.
The exclusive white Nappa cowhide leather of the Leica M8 'White Edition' makes the M8 a particularly comfortable camera to hold. The camera is accompanied by a high-quality, real leather carrying strap, embossed with the Leica logo and in matching white. All control elements are finished in silver chrome and, in combination with the lens, perfectly round off the overall styling of the set. The top cover, bottom plate and the camera back are finished in white paint.
The Leica Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH, silver 'The White Edition' is one of the only ways to get this particular lens in silver, as it was never offered in serial production in any color other than black. The lens barrel is aluminum, keeping the weight of the lens to a minimum, and has a number of unique design features. The lens’ focus tab is white, as is all the lettering and numbering on the lens barrel.
This is one of the most stunning special editions released by Leica and with only 275 sets offered over 15 years ago, it is exceptionally rare to see one available for sale.
Both the camera body and lens were sent to Leica Customer Care in Wetzlar, Germany for a complete overhaul, to ensure they are working flawlessly. A one year Leica warranty is included.
Cosmetically, no signs of use are visible on the camera or lens. Based on the low shutter count, unmarked lens mount and strap lugs, and perfect cosmetic condition, we do not believe this camera set was ever used.
And to top it off, this set is 100% complete as new, with the boxes, packaging, paperwork, and all original accessories. The Leica Customer Care documentation is also included.
This is a rare opportunity to own a low-production, fully-serviced, totally complete special edition set that may be one of the only examples as such left in the world.

I would rather have a camera to use.
I think it’s beautiful. Though I also think it’s sad it’s never been used and I’d hope anyone who bought it now would give it some love. For me, nearest I might get to a white Leica is a white snap skin for my Leica TL2.
If you buy any camera, you should be using it. Sure it's a good conversation piece but have those conversations while your shooting photos. Although it's 10 mp so you might be better of spray painting your sony white and saving some money. OK ok you changed my mind, buy this and stick it in a glass box and show it off to your rich friends while you snort caviar and smell each others farts.
If someone bought a camera like this to “collect” or use it, that’s their choice.
@@johnkasianowicz6536 true, i certainly don’t care. I’m just joking btw.
Leica will sell all of them to the carriage trade.
Leica is overared, as usual.
Как по мне это довольно странно. Разрабатывать сенсор, софт, механику, производить фотик и это все ради того чтобы он на полке стоял. Не проще тогда модельку пластиковую сделать?..
If a Leica version of the Lumix S9 appears, I'd love to see it in white. (Ideally with a Fuji-licensed Hybrid VF, too!)
If it had a hybrid viewfinder it wouldn’t be like the S9 anymore lol.
@@Kevon420 But if Leica made an exact replica of the S9, then everyone would get an S9.
Talking about how things look is a platitude. Most of us don't give a crap, we want to know how it works and why it's better or worse than the cameras we already use.
So, it's just a white paint. I thought it was ceramic.
black version look way better , i need black leica with a black dot .
I wouldn't want a white Leica. Just my take on it.
Putting on gloves before touching a camera. Nonsense.
