I bought this Tusk system. As mentioned at minute 4:30, the T-30 tool would not fit the bolt to take off the helmet lock. The pin in the middle of the T30 bolt head was too large for the slot in the head of the tool. I had to drill the hole bigger in the head of the tool using a 7/64" bit and then the bolt pin fit nice into the tool and no problem to loosen. Replaced with a 4mm allen bolt so as not to need a T30 should that ever come loose.
Hmm the tool worked for me, after I lightly tapped it onto the screw head with a hammer. I could tell it was very close, and that the middle security part of the screw was very soft metal..
For the wiring why not go straight line and use shrink wrap,, slide a small diameter on the two wires and a larger diameter for over the bough Just make sure you install the shrink wrap before you solder the wires together. This makes a much nicer looking connection and you are not putting a sharp bend in the wires. In all the years I have been doing this have never has one fail.
Very well made video. Did you install the medium or large tusk panniers? If the smaller medium, was it necessary to splice into the turn signal wires for needed extra room? I ask because I thought Is saw Rocky Mt. video video saying the splice and turn signal relocation was only for the large size panniers.
Excellent video Skeet. I really enjoy your channel. It's like I get to hang out with my funcle but I learn a lot at the same time
I appreciate that!
