Truly a informative video. Thank You for doing this one. I'm kinda a beginner on nails other than my natural or press on nails. I want to try gel at home.
I’m interested in learning how to do soft gels since hard gels don’t soak off. Or maybe do both with hard gel on top? I see you mentioned Japanese gels.. could you explain a little more on that and where I can buy? Thank you!
I know your comment is old but that is exactly what I was thinking!! I hate the take off of Hard Gel. But building the set in Soft Gel & then one layer of Hard on top to give it more sturdiness is exactly what Im going to be doing.
I wear extensions to prevent me from biting my nails. I always got acrylic because I hated the way they tasted. I need to figure out know to get acrylic thickness with gel.
It depends on the length. If you you have short-medium length nails, the soft gel is all you need. If you stay within Gelish systems, their hard gel will be just fine over their base, if you want need more strength.
Can you use any colored gel polish like shellac, opi gel color or gelish on top of JG systems? and if so is the outcome any different...and if I where to use JG...what system would it be replacing?...Brisa gel (requires rebalancing) or a Shellac Manicure (which soaks off) and by the way what is the soak off time?...If I have Brisa clients that like two week appts. solely because they don't like to see grow out...what would be recommended for them knowing that this JG lasts 3-4 weeks.? Thanks.... peace
It is in between. Thicker than gel polish, thinner then hard gel. I teach all of this in my MGN mastergelnails.com/yes Jap gel is for rebalancing. And if you know how to safely remove with an efile it is excellent for protecting natural nails from acetone soak-offs. All this is very detailed in the course.
What about cuccio is that a soft or a hard gel how do u know the difference between the two when buying them somewhere because when I go to beauty stores near me they don't know what there selling they just expect u to know
Glad you were on my recommendation! I work with hard gels.. light elegance & young nails synergy gel but this video was very interesting. Gonna watch your other videos, subscribe, & follow on ig lol
Hey...what do you suggest for someone who is trying to grow out their natural nails? Mine keep breaking off😕 is soft gel the best option? Especially because I'm not into long nails.
That’s my vote! Try Nail Thoughts Tinted Base by Kokoist. They are a 3 in 1 product (base, builder, color) and super beginner friendly 💕 (my code for 10%off is PPN10)
Excellent video! This is the first video of yours I’ve seen and I just subscribed! Great information and well explained. I asked someone about this before and they said soft gel is gel polish and hard gel is the gel product we make the extensions with and I was like uhh I don’t think so lol
@@PaolaPonceNailsThank you so much for your quick reply, I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Can you tell me more about Bio Sculpture or do you have a good video on bio Sculpture please. What do you recommend that is HEMA free?? Regards from Perth Western Australia

I would love to learn more about leaf gel, and also there is a new japanese brand that jist came to the us ricca gel have you gotten to use that yet? i would love to hear your views on that. Also do you ever use an efile while working with your soft gels? And do you soak off each visit or just do a fill each time or when would you suggest soak off and do a new set? Sorry for all the questions
Paola do you use luminary?? I find that very interesting. Do you find that it falls into the quality of your normal vetro leaf or kokoist? I actually find those products very different from studying sds sheets. Let me know if you can why you like/use luminary!
@@PaolaPonceNails okay yes first ingrediant in luminary is ethyl acetate i believe so i really don't find them at the quality of koko or leaf at all. Okay thank you for explaining i am similiar i get red dots if i get it on my skin. Thanks for the awesome video
😅 I haven't tried hard gel yet. But soft gel doesn't stay on my nails. It peels off the very next day 😩😔 I think my nails are too weak and flexible. I love doing my own nails but it's getting irritating because it doesn't stay for a long time 😢
Clear gel has great self leveling properties. This can help you for when you apply it, you can apply a little bit thicker providing for better and longer wearability.
Hi Paola! So I'm doing nails at home, just on myself, and I know I've had sensitivity to polygels. As someone who also has acrylate sensitivity, what do you think about IBD hard gel?
I'm alleric to acrylates too. IBD has acrylate, so do dipping products. If they don't have the ingredients listed online I email, or contact the manufacturer for the ingredients.
@@ilovegot7754 Yes, that's mostly the main issue. I went to a dermatologist that confirmed it for me. The more I was exposed to acrylate, the worse my reaction was. My nails lifted and almost fell off. I had to look for another line of work.
So. I used hard gel as an overlay and got lifting at the cuticles. I had no idea it couldn’t be soaked off. I couldn’t do a fill, and didn’t want to with that brand because it was very brittle. My question is, if someone gets hard gel and then wants the product removed, how would we go about it? Can only file down so far. What ended up happening was I filed down as thin as I could and as I tried to grow it out, eventually the thin pieces of hard gel were peeling off with layers of my nail along with it. :(. So unless someone is always going to have enhancements, hard gel is a no for me
Hey there! I haven’t worked with hard gel on clients for a while. However, I’ve been told you can put soft gel as your base gel before building with hard gel to make it “soak off”. However one of my subscribers has said that she still had a hard time removing, so maybe some trial and error. I personally would not because soft gel nail systems like Japanese gels already offer their builder gel to be “soak-off”. So I’m set.

Hard.

I’m so life changed by your videos!!
Is Ibd a soft or hard gel? And is it a good gel to use for natural nails?
Question what does pinching the nail do? Also what is your overall favorite efile?
Pinching makes the enhancement slender and gives it strength also.
Is builder gel the same as soft gel? People thought me that that it’s te samen as hard gel. I’m confused right now
It sounds like builder gel is hard gel.
Where is the best place for us to purchase Japanese soft gels or hard gels in the uk ?
Naillabo?
Hi, can I use soak off color gel on hard gel base and builder gel without it cracking?
Yes
Thank you ❤
So how do you remove hard gel?
Drill
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE OF PRICE BETWEEN SCULPTURED HARD GEL AND SCULPTURED SOFT GEL?
Yes. Japanese soft builder gel is typically more... but you need less to sculpt with.
I am allergic to HEMA what is the best gel to use I am looking at light elegance at the moment.
Yes they are hema-free. Also Presto & Ageha & Bio Sculpture!
