Well, it has been a season of firsts: first time Jackie laid 3 eggs and first time to see them eat those eggs. It was a time of inspiration and disappointment. We would have loved for things to be different, certainly, but I wouldn't have missed it for anything. The commitment and loyalty that J&S showed to each other and those eggs was amazing; seeing nature takes it course was worth observing, too. Now we can enjoy whatever comes next with much thanks to FOBBV and you, Cali.
I'm glad they took care of it. You could tell it's been bothering both of them. Always checking on it when they come to the nest. Now they can have final peace.
As always Cali, thank you for allowing us to share the lives of these beautiful Eagles. They are dear to my heart, as I’m sure they are to many others and it’s a special treat to see them on the nest so much after mating season. They’re looking great and living their best Eagle lives! Gotta love ‘em, God be with our Eagles ❤ 🦅🦅
@ 6:11 and on You can hear the raven/crow in the background, saying, "I'm not going to get any eggs this season?" 💔 Jackie is cleaning the nest for next season. Shadow seems a bit sad.😢 Looking forward to successful clutch next season. Everyone loves you Jackie and Shadow!🦅❤🦅🙏
I don't think he looks sad. I believe he is just loving Jackie through her motherly instincts. He loves Jackie through her motherly side, her b_tchie side, through her selfish side, and through her romantic side. He fought for her, won her, and totally loves her. heh, 😂 But he does seem to have a problem with sticks.
I think about how Jackie laid on those eggs for 60 + hours during that one storm and how none of the eggs turned out to be viable. Was it a waste of time ? All the work of the nest, all the countless hours by S&J laying on the eggs, all the efforts...was it for nothing? Absolutely not ! They showed commitment ,loyalty and nurturing not knowing themselves what the out come would be. They gave it their all, no matter what. And in the end, they will try and try again...till they physically can no longer...no matter what. ❤
When I was a kid, Bald Eagles were generally considered near extinction in thlower 48. And I was living in the Delta, where the Arkansas, Mississippi, Yazoo came together. Ideal territory. Silent Spring was published but most of us were accepting that we would never see a Bald Eagle living in the world.. now I start & end my day observing. I am immensely grateful.
Loved seeing Jackie fly from the nest from outside of it! They are so spectacular - a real gift from their Creator for us to enjoy, thanks to you! Question: is Jackie's beak OK? She has marks on both sides. Hope so!
Love how Shadow just keeps learning from Jackie as don't think either liked the taste or the texture of the egg going by the head reflex similar to us humans in Scotland call it Gagging / Nearly being sick reflex 🤮 Looks to me very much come on Shadow over to the nest we have one last important thing to do then we begin a new Chapter! Bless ma two wee Fluffy heads 😂👌🦅🦅
@@veronicastewart1112 I agree but they're not? I lol my heads gone! Definitely not enjoying it like if was a fish 🐠 I Think maybe something maternal but not consumed for food reasons? I But I only discovered them in January so I don't know much about Birds in General. Regards Veronica ✌️👍
I love how they gently share the moment of eating that last egg. They know what they’re doing , & the next time Jackie has eggs , those two are going to be as dedicated as last time, 😊 cradling their chest upon the eggs, in love! I sure hope the weather is better this time around. But, they will handle their duties just fine! 👍😁. They’ve proven that! Every living thing, has their instincts of knowing what to do in all situations just like us humans do with our own child/children. God didn’t leave anything he created incomplete. From “ man” to “animals “, of all kinds, LIFE is AMAZING! It’s been a joy, we can be close up, & blessed watching these two characters, of incredible beauty, 🤓👍 J.&S. are simply AMAZING! 🥰🙏
I always love to watch them fly in to the nest. Awesome and Amazing! I did lol when Shadow landed with "just a touch of green," as his main accent color for the place! ❤️🦅❤️🦅🌿
I've only seen Shadow & Jackie bring bare sticks to the nest before. I know I'm projecting, but it feels like Shadow brought a memorial bouquet to his & Jackie's eggs with the atypical greenery...
Shadow seemed less than enthusiastic about eating that spoilt egg, but best to ingest the calcium, and minerals to rid the nest of it, and get ready for new beginnings, spring is in the air. 🦅❤️🦅
I don’t think they liked doing that.. as it must not be very tasty….I sure wish them success next time oh I pray they have at least one little fluffy baby next time. ❤️🙏🏼
I felt that Jackie ❣ and especially Shadow 🦅 were still digging in the nest for that one egg 🥚 Part of me is amazed that it was still relatively intact after all of this time 😢 It was almost like they were still being careful with it 💔 I'm glad that the egg is finally gone and that they said their goodbyes 🙏
Jackie don't want her remaining egg to be eaten by birds. It's her first 3 clutch of eggs but she wants them to move on and have a clean nest for next year. I feel bad for Shadow because you can see the look on his face and then he comes back with a pine branch as if to say farewell to his last remaining egg. I hope next year the two will have eaglets. Hope they enjoy eagling around this summer.
I feel sad for Jackie and Shadow cause I’m sure that Jackie knew that it was time to eat the last egg cause she wants to move on and start fresh but poor Shadow was at first, kept looking down watching her eat the egg and it looked like he was having a puzzled look on his face as to finally realize “my babies are gone now”. He just to me looked lost and maybe realized it was over. Eagles in general are just such intelligent creatures and they know how to mourn, accept their babies are gone (or whatever the situation maybe (I.e. the nest gone) whatever the case may be and then are able to move on and then recreate more eggs and definitely have more babies in the next season. But they still have each other and to me, that’s all that matters to them and me too cause they have each other to lean on and be with too and even to talk to. God bless these two most wonderful Eagle pair and I am rooting them on for another definite successful clutch gain too. Hugs love and blessings. Sue M. Florida ❤️🥰🤗🙏😘🦅🦅🌸🌼⭐️❌⭕️
J & S still have not decided when they will go on vacation. Until they Do, it's fun to watch their antics and see the Acrobatic flight carried limbs delivered to the Nest. S starts(5:40 Elapsed T)by bringing in from the left a Evergreen limb carried in a balanced 2 talon grasp. The Cam is in perfect alignment with his flight. Near the end of it, he turns left and with a few upward wing beats he carries the EV limb up and over the top branch on the Simba limb , just touching it with the Boughs of the EV limb before landing in the Nest. To my eye, this is a complicated move and took all of his 10 yrs life flying experienced to learn to .accomplish it so effortlessly. Shadow is probably the closest to an animal equiv. of a Terrain Guidance Radar carried in military aircraft and something i know about -- firsthand. Once, on a Hi Desert dirt road, A Fighter from a nearby base flew over my Car @ 50' elevation doing several hundred MPH--Wagging his wings in a final gesture of accomplishment of what he had done(while not killing the both of us). For the first few seconds, One does not know he is alive or dead--the sound of the Fighter being so Deafening, 50 ft overhead with the Afterburner Prob. kicked S , you are the best flying Eagle here or elsewhere that i've seen . Thanks for Posting Cali. something here for many people to enjoy/remember-- certainly a Keeper for me.
Somber. It's too cold up there in higher elevation. Good luck, Jackie n Shadow on the next clutch! The mauraders, scavengers, bottom feeders, will now help clean out your home! 🦅🤍🦅🤎
It’s not too cold, Alaska has the highest population of Eagles and they thrive there. They chose this spot and have had Simba and Spirit here, so they’re fine just where they are…
@@CoExist64 imo. Two eaglets out of how many clutches? This site described the aerie as being the highest elev. in lower 48, w colder temps. The last winter season, and this yrs, pretty brutal, but what do i kno

The calcium from the shells is good for them, especially Jackie, after laying her 3 beautiful eggs. 🙏🏼

Yes 😢 I felt too that both of the eagles, but especially Shadow 🦅, kept digging in the nest for that egg
Totally agree!
They only “took care” of it after an egg had been cracked. It’s very spiritual. The eggs became part of the nest and returned to them as well.
These two are so precious!!! 🦅💙🦅❤️

Most of the time yes, on rare occasions a second set is laid but not in this case.
