Why doesn't code enforcement write citations to the city for allowing the sidewalks to get that bad? They should have had that cleared out long before it became impassable. If the city can't be responsible enough to maintain public sidewalks, they have zero business requiring residents to maintain their lawns. Thank you, Al and Kevin for doing the city's job for them. You know what, you are 💯right… That whole path between two properties was in complete violation… How can you have a sidewalk there for everyone, including the HANDICAP ACCESS on both ends!?!? I bet they missed that one instead of harassing other people in the residential neighborhood around there…👍🏾
As a member of the "transient" (homeless) community, i want to thank you for treating that gentleman with respect. So many times, we are look at/treated like we are less than human. The world needs more people like you, I think
Getting back on your feet is possible I've had a home two years now and I work for a homeless help agency doing housekeeping for a step program hotel the same one who allowed me shelter to get off the street. Good luck to you keep praying and don't give up bud....
This man worked harder and more efficiently than most people I’ve hired. Thank you for hiring him and paying him. He certainly didn’t expect it. And thank you for what you do!
Pretty sad that the city workers doesn’t have enough pride in their town to keep things clean and mowed. You did a wonderful job. And so did your helper.
its not a matter of pride, its a matter of the cycle of money, take tax dollars to "improve" sidewalk access. don't improve side walk access, and on top of that harass, ticket, fine, penalize anyone that has to maneuver around said blocked sidewalks. mo money, mo money, mo money!!!!
It’s a shopping center so the corporations that own the center is in charge of cleaning up their property , and if that was like that up here in Philly , they’d be sued by a pedestrian’s and the township would fine them on top of.
I cannot understand the police mentality. To me they appear to be licenced thugs. The bloke who professed to be a cop. Was dressed in casual summer wear and was holding a weapon in his hand, down by his side. No badge appeared apparently, none that I could see. The so called policeman question Al about what he was doing. I'd like to ask the policeman why he is holding a weapon in his hand, WHEN he could see Al cleaning up the walkway to allow people to go to the shops and not walk on the road. Shoot first then ask questions. I have to ask the precinct's boss what in blazers type of police are they training to serve the public? Also for an off job policeman in my opinion should have called the nearest station and asked a car be sent to see what was or happening to the curb area. I might add the area was a disaster by day and certainly by night. The policeman needs to be retrained in logical assertions. To be dressed like a bum or I'll be kind, more an off duty person and carrying a pistol, loaded or not, does not give peace of mind to whom he is questioning. I want to see Al and the bloke who offered to help fix a public eye sore and definitely a traffic hazard. The local council or road authority should have been chastised about their tardiness. Al and you mate, great job. Thankfully neither of you got run over. I wish well for your helper and his wife. May something wonderful come their way. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤
By far the BEST video I have seen in a long time. Kevin is homeless but turned up on time, true to his word he worked with you for a few hours, and DID NOT ask or expect to be paid. Thanks to you, on this day, he had his dignity restored. He was able to return to his wife that day a proud man, with the unexpected fruits of his labour. You made a difference to many peoples lives who need to use that sidewalk, but a huge difference to Kevin and his wife. Al you are amazing, and thank You.

@@michspill2001 No, I think it's on the city easement/right of way. Actually, I'm surprised a cop didn't come by and fine Al for doing unauthorized work in the city easement.
You trusted him with your tools and everything . This day was probably the most useful and proud the dude has been in a long time. Much much much respect .
Of course he trusted him!!! Why not? Cause homeless ppl are thieves, addicts, or criminals? Most, not all but most, non homeless ppl would have "you trusted him with your tools" as their first thought. 😢
Al , sometime i think that you are not Real “! The things you do for people is unbelievable ! So nice! So kind ! and compassionate ! 👏 Great contente, you made that man very happy, and me too 🙋♀️ God is watching and blessing you 🙌💙
This video is not about the missing sidewalk or mowing. it didn't even matter. This video is about humanity, affection, respect and love for others. Congratulations man
I'd say, it is about both: A man, who many would call "useless" helping to make this place a lot safer for everyone - obviously for pedestrians, but even for drivers due to bad visibility.
That city and police should be ashamed of themselves for letting that walk get like that. All those shots of the other sidewalks were all well kept. So glad you and that gentleman were able to get it cleaned up. What a blessing to the area.
They let it get that way because they could milk it for more money to live their fat pockets with through tickets and tax hikes in the promise that it will be fixed if they somehow got another $200,000 a month.
You see were your tax dollars go. That city should be more than be ashamed of themselves. Hope the tax people see this video. This man is able to work. Someone give this homeless man a job.
This man helping shows us how kind humanity can be .. helping without being asked & standing out of the way of the camera as not to block the shot this is a true gentleman , never judge a book by its cover
Kevin is such an incredible asset to society as can easily be seen in this video. He genuinely brought himself forward and kept up with everything that was going on in this project. I pray someone with the means to give him a stable job and an opportunity to have a bigger purpose. Someone needs to hire him on and let him shine. Thank you AL for allowing this gentleman to help you to help the community.
I know you didn't really need his help, but he offered to help and you wanted him to feel useful and appreciated. You did two wonderful things, you cleaned that overgrown sidewalk and also blessed that homeless man. Thank you, Al! Love you more, dear heart!!!!
For a police officer to go after a person for what he did and not contact the city to notify them of the problem and get it taken care of is unimaginable. This was a most excellent transformation sir and for the homeless gentleman to step up and help was inspiring and you giving him some cash to help out was awesome. Thanks for the video sir.
The officers probably reported it to the city or county road department. They have no authority to make them take care of the sidewalk. They were warning them because of the danger to them and drivers. She none needs to report it to the city or county commissioners.
Dude hustled and helped. I could see him helping out on the crazy jobs and having a day feeling accomplished and make a few bucks. Thanks for giving him a chance ✊
This is a very high traffic area and it's unbelievable that the city didn't clear this section for pedestrians. Pedestrians have the right of way. But you guys did a great job and a great service for the community 💯
Unfortunately, the cops are only looking at making $$$ instead of holding the land owner accountable - more so if it's the city. He treated the guy respectfully and I am sure the man appreciates what he did.
I have mix feelings about you doing this project......the local government failed to do their job (for what ever reason). You just kicked the can down the road. The problem is still there.
I’d send the city a bill for the services provided and tell them they neglected this area for so long cops where harassing people who had no choice but to walk in the streets to get around this area
You literally made that man’s day by allowing him an opportunity to feel needed. He was enjoying every moment of being there and worked his tail off to get the task done. Your kindness to him is certainly heartwarming, and every day he walks on the sidewalk now will bring him joy and happiness, knowing he made a difference! KUDOS!
This was such a "Feel Good" video on so many levels. Thank you soo much for goin' here! Awesome transformation and a powerful place inside your whole being to be a part of that change. Safe is that corner, for sure!
I’m not a religious man but you are an angel, a really kind decent person that does lots for others without fanfare or reward Many blessings to you and yours
Can you please give Kevin more appearances in your weekly videos until he gets a job.... he is respectful, polite and efficient. It would be great to see this man employed again...
Having been in Kevin's shoes, I can say the opportunity to work and earn your way is pretty strong. You gave him a chance to keep his dignity by accepting his offer of help, and that's one of the best things you could have done for him. The guy's a really hard worker, and I hope this video is evidence of that to a prospective employer. All the best to you both.
The homeless helper brought tears to my eyes, as well as the respect Al Bladez gave him. I don't know his story, but I assume he had a hard time in his life. Still, he's willing to help the community. What a lesson he taught.
They should been fined for all that. Thats crazy and I’m thankful you hooked him up. And I hope someone see him and hires him. He deserves it!! He’s a hard worker he expected nothing just trying to help himself so he doesn’t get harassed anymore.
Give that man a few more gigs with you he worked his tail off! Seeing him even grab the shovel tells you he took pride in helping, and then to see him move the equipment…awesome stuff. Great work Al!
That was a win-win! You interacted with him in a very respectful way. He wasn't pushy in wanting to help..just a genuine need for a cleared sidewalk! You're so sweet to bless him with work and finances.
You made the old gentleman alive again. People was seeing him as a person working. Not a homeless person. Both of you worked great together. Bless both of you for making the sidewalk safe for a lot of people. No more walking in the road. Be safe out there both of you.
I live in Australia and very surprised that in the USA a public authority does not clear the footpath for pedestrians. Good on you for helping out for free.
There are a lot of places without sidewalks. People either have to walk in the streets or on other people's property. I would rather them walk on my property than get ran over. I just wish that a select few that do that wouldn't throw their trash in my yard. Or lit cigarette butts on the grass. To easy for a fire to start.
Rules are strange here. That exact strip of sidewalk could be just outside city limits. In a county jurisdiction. The county may not have any requirement to maintain the sidewalks. Some give the responsibility to whoever owns the adjacent land. It can get confusing. And you can guarantee if it's not theirs they won't touch it
Lots of things goes on here the outside world don't have a clue the grass isn't all that green on this side of the fence the picture is only painted that way to fool the unsuspecting bystanders
That gentleman was a go getter. Thank you for letting him help you and paying him. You are a terrific man. I was very impressed with how well you worked together. There is nothing better than a hard working man.
Thank you for treating Kevin with the respect that every loving soul deserves. You both worked hard and what a great transformation. Now Kevin and his wife and everyone else can be safe. Thank you for giving him money. People are placed in our paths to help.
You took the words right out of my mouth! Shame shame shame on the city! Thank you Al! And the homeless man that helped! You do such amazing work! 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Al, I have to say, I have never seen a harder working man in my life. The pride you take in you work is the highest I have ever seen as well. Thank you for allowing that man to help you. He worked hard to keep up with you and did a damn good job. Thank you for helping him out as well I wish I wasn't living on just Social Security or I would donate to you and your work. God Bless Brother.
You gave that guy a lot more than some money. You gave him a sense of pride and purpose. And the sidewalk! The town or city where that is located, should be ashamed of allowing that to be going on for so long. Well done!
The gentleman, that helped was a hard worker. Are there social services that can give him a foot up? He deserves assistance and would put help to good use. Such a nice man!
The transformation along with touching the life of a homeless man were awesome. Allowing the man to work with you gave him a boost and purpose. Thank you, Al!
You did more for that man than you know Al. You gave him purpose and dignity. That wasn't just a hazard to pedestrians, it was a traffic hazard! Fabulous work men! Have a blessed day❤
I wondered why the guy kept disappearing and it hit me. He was trying to stay out of Al's shot so he didn't unintentionally block the camera or anything. Such a sweet man to not only help but also being cognizant of the recording for us. Thank you Al for letting him lend a hand and paying him for a job well done. He did more for a stretch of sidewalk than most people do for their own yards when you come by.
This was a real community service, you helped every person that walks in that area. But mostly you helped this middle aged man feel like a worth while hard working man once more. You're a rock star for all you do to help people out . May God bless you and your family..
Al, you're definitely a hardworking man and an inspiration. You treated the homeless gentleman with respect and accepted his help, to include payment. We need more people like you.
You're saying someone is inspiring because they're willing to talk to someone who's homeless? That's how worthless I am, that you have to be a saint to talk to me? I'm sick of this kind of comment, people saying "oh he's such a good person he even is nice to homeless people" as though we are not worth being treated nicely and if someone is nice to us, oh they must be a good person if they are nice to THEM! There was a time when people would say, "oh, he's such a good person he's even nice to [racial word] people," but to say it now would be unacceptable. And so is saying it about us just because we don't have a place to live for a while because our job doesn't pay enough! I'm so sick of being seen as THAT WORTHLESS to everyone!!!!!!!!
This is really what I think people want to see on your channel. More videos that benefit the whole community. Love to see you tackle a small community park, if possible 😊
Al, I have to say that this is a great video. Not only did you help the gentleman out as well as his wife by giving him a $100. you may have blessed him in more ways than you know. Who ever is responsible for that sidewalk getting in the condition it was. SHOULD BE ASHAMED. They also need to be fined. The city needs to be ashamed of it themselves. God bless you Al. 🙏 ❤.
had someone already been keeping up with it, Al wouldn't have met the man that helped him nor would Al been able to help him out. And why SHOULD the ones that let it get in the shape in the first place be fined when it's all about helping each other and not causing harm to others? We don't know why it got that way or the reason or what happen to the one who was supposed to be keeping it up. maybe they passed away, ever think of that? And most of all Al wouldn't have had any thing to share with us. This is something everyone can do... see something that needs done, do it. why do you all keep thinking someone needs to get in trouble? Al could have reported it to the city and made an issue of it. Like the cop harassing the man instead of letting the city know the side walk needed cleared. They could sent out someone from the parks department to clear it, after all they get paid by the taxes taken from the people. Al was the only one said I'll so it and not point to someone else to do it. He Just did it, while making a new friend.
*Kevin: Punctual, eager to help, takes initiative, works well with others, polite and professional mannerism* *Somebody give this man an opportunity please*
WalMart or the city should pay for this kind of work. I can’t believe that people are fined or reprimanded for walking on the street when the sidewalk is not available.
How many people these days refuse to work? Too many. Here's a homeless man offering to help you do a not so easy job. This moved me in so many ways, Al. You're an outstanding man. I wish there were more like you, Sir.
@tacomamusic Exactly. People aren't really refusing to work *any* job. They're just sick and tired of getting used and destroyed for a relative pittance compared to what they make some guy sitting in a board room somewhere not sweating, getting cussed at, or spit on but saying "we" have to tighten our belts to meet a quarterly earnings target *he* set. No more paid hour lunch breaks. No more gold watches or training from the mail room to president of the company. Now, it's layoffs and outsourcing and setting hours under 40 so you don't qualify for health insurance. Now, it's 2 people in the whole store, 8 self checkouts, and no cost savings to you, the customer. How many entry levels jobs are 0 experience? How many companies are training new people and providing a wage on which you can raise a family with one breadwinner? A lot of people are willing to work hard. Kevin's out here doing it out of the kindness of his heart, for his community, and for himself. He's fighting. Doesn't mean he should be taken advantage of when he gets back into the workforce. Doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to pass on a job that doesn't pay enough for him to keep a house. That's not refusing to work. That's just survival and common sense standards. His choosing to work for no expected money shouldn't be used as a dig along with the "Nobody wants to work" catchphrase.
@@tjchrist4264"Rules for thee but not for me"... The p0p0 love it though. It's cheap power, but they are scavengers. Now they'll have to come up with another cheap trip to feed off of.
This is an eye opener for some folks that happen to think that the homeless population are “crazy druggie bums” but instead are just down on their luck. A lot of folks just want to do better and Al showed us a glimpse of how most folks just want to be a helpful person to society. It’s just hard out here.
I am amazed, but also saddened that a city would allow a public sidewalk to become so neglected and overrun. I have to use a mobility wheelchair to get around my city and I have to constantly watch out for hazards of damaged, broken, and overgrown vegetation. Thank you for caring!❤
Yeah, it was obvious that it was designed also to facilitate those in wheelchairs to navigate that little curve safely. Not only did this improve the situation for those such as yourself, but I think that it was impeding the line of vision for drivers coming around that curve. On top of it all this improvement was no doubt performed using state or federal funding and then they’ve just let itdeteriorate like that
If you have mobility problems, you're lucky to find ANY sidewalk, most are broken, don't have cutaways to get on & off, end suddenly in the middle of nowherez ❤have no crosswalks, are overgriwb or there are tree roots that make them impassable. Restrooms have super heavy doors in public places - healthcare facilities are the WORST. Mobility services are extremely limited & orovate services are driven out by subsidized public services. Ramps to get on & off public transportation are a danger to everyine, they detect a standing a dult but not a small xhild or someone in a wheelchair. What Al does, es9. here, is a true gift from God for thise of us who struggle with mobility, esp. if mpbility issues are compounded by severe pain as they are with me. And the DEW has decided thebopioid crisis is solely because ofnpain oatients so while addicts shoot uo on the street & no onenhelps them get free, pain patients struggle to ger very mild pain medicine. Many could still wprk and pay taxes if they could get the paintp ease off (chronic pain never goes away fully, it just eases enough to bear). Pain also causes fatigue, which makes the pain worse in a vicious cycle. So Al, THANK YOU for this. Scouts looking for a project how about foghting for handicapped friendly sidewalks in your communities? Gather support one sidewalk at a time, get petitions signed, submit to elected officials, post on social media, get other troops involved in your area. This would be community service as well and would be inclusive of differently abled people.
In Poland when you drink beer in summer on your sidewalk you will get ticket from police because we cant drink in public places. But when winter comes you are responsible for removing ice from sidewalk and then its yours not public. Until you decide to drink beer after removing ice as then its public again
I imagine those tools and the power to operate them don’t come cheap, so I hope you’re making enough from your channel to cover everything. I also hope you have inspired a few people to do something similar. Thank you.
THANK YOU!!!! So many homeless are overlooked like they are nothing. YOU showed him respect and kindness which in turn probably gave him a HUGE boost. And to pay him for the hard work he did was so wonderful of you. Sometimes just a little kindness goes a long way. He said that $100 would get him through a week, feel good about that.

Al you are such a wonderful human, the way you treated Kevin, asking thoughtful questions, you are a rare breed, and deserve the world. Good job
Also a wonderful thing Kevin did for Al, just a simple testament of what being human can accomplish, when we work together instead of against each other.

And boy did he appreciate it!
Genial por los dos.
The government from the mayor up to the Prez. don't care.
It’s a shopping center so the corporations that own the center is in charge of cleaning up their property , and if that was like that up here in Philly , they’d be sued by a pedestrian’s and the township would fine them on top of.
The police would rather harass the homeless ppl than make a call to the right authorities to get city workers to do their jobs! SMH
Fantastic job. You eliminated a big safety hazard and helped out a homeless man too. Thats what I call true community service.

This man could be homeless now, but he is a real man, a gentleman, he was ready to work for nothing, just doing the right thing !!!
It's disgusting how the city let that sidewalk get so unusable. Great job guys!
. . . but the local constabulary had the time and money to waist harassing a pedal-destrian !
They mentioned Wal-Mart, it was probably their sidewalk.
@@michspill2001 It looked like it was on a roadway. Walmart wouldn't have sidewalks.
@@michspill2001 No, I think it's on the city easement/right of way. Actually, I'm surprised a cop didn't come by and fine Al for doing unauthorized work in the city easement.
It was a beautiful job...on a beautiful sidewalk...as someone said...so much safer..❤❤
Your helper was such a hard worker. Someone please give him a job. Well done Al!!
This was a honest man. He was on time. He was so happy, Why did the police clean it.

I can be about more than just one thing. It is a solid sign of how lax the city has been about maintaining it too.
well said 👍
It's both. He helped EVERYONE there not just 1 guy. And he should send a bill to the city for his public service
God bless you Al! This just fills my heart dude. ❤
These too guys should get nice pay check from the city. Especially this guy using all of his own tools. Most definitely ! A job well done 💯
This town must be run by the Democrat's. They ruin everything !
You see were your tax dollars go. That city should be more than be ashamed of themselves. Hope the tax people see this video. This man is able to work. Someone give this homeless man a job.
Al you should get yourself a reflective shirt when you’re working in near any roadway for your safety.
Can't believe the city didn't clean up that sidewalk. It was impassible.
You both did an awesome cleanup! 👍👍
How much safer it will be for all.

I cried because two Good Samaritans helping each other. Thank you for sharing. Have an amazing day!
Why wasn’t this taken care of by the City ?
What a slap in the face to this city not to maintain a sidewalk disgraceful
I’d send the city a bill for the services provided and tell them they neglected this area for so long cops where harassing people who had no choice but to walk in the streets to get around this area
Love the way homeless guy shows up on time to help, he is better than most.
Bless both of them.
Al isn’t homeless and I thought the helper was owner 🤔🥴❤️
I have to say, that guy was no slacker. He worked hard for the money and was a big help. Thank you for helping him.

You gave someone dignity today. That was even better than clearing a sidewalk. Thank you Al.
I agree with you totally.
Some Homeless people are also some of Gods greatest creations. They love and care for others alot as this man illustrates.
Very dangerous road! So kind of you to let that man help you. I bet he felt really good about it. Thank you for rewarding him! You are a good man!
God had a good day. To HIM be the glory.
And you can guarantee if it's not theirs they won't touch it
You would think Walmart would be a good neighbor and maintain it!
It’s Florida. It’s basically like a third world country located within the boundary of the USA.
Lots of things goes on here the outside world don't have a clue the grass isn't all that green on this side of the fence the picture is only painted that way to fool the unsuspecting bystanders

@@philswords6390 incompetence
I can imagine some of the drivers also being glad & thankful for you clearing the sidewalk! ♥

Should send the city a bill
@@markgrizDefeats the whole purpose of the video.
had someone already been keeping up with it, Al wouldn't have met the man that helped him nor would Al been able to help him out.

How many people these days refuse to work? Too many. Here's a homeless man offering to help you do a not so easy job. This moved me in so many ways, Al. You're an outstanding man. I wish there were more like you, Sir.
lol many people refuse to work with crappy companies and terrible customers.. there fixed it for you.
It's hard for a homeless person to find a job without having a home address
When the city wont take action our man AL is there to save the day.
And the hat and shirt merchandise is legit awesome.

Yes, so many are just one event or illness away from crisis
I think this one is my favorite, how wonderful to give that wonderful man some purpose and respect.
On top of it all this improvement was no doubt performed using state or federal funding and then they’ve just let itdeteriorate like that
🙏 Good job a very good job 💯👍❣️
Love your work
If you have mobility problems, you're lucky to find ANY sidewalk, most are broken, don't have cutaways to get on & off, end suddenly in the middle of nowherez ❤have no crosswalks, are overgriwb or there are tree roots that make them impassable.
Thank you.
Good on you, Kevin, for helping out our man, Al Bladez, one of the kindest men on the internet. I'm glad Al could also help you out in the interim 😊

This guy is a good person hard worker & very kind to do this for free. Those towns that he helps clean up should honor him even for just a day.
In a world where the homeless are harassed by government officials, and poverty or hitting hard times is punished by the attitude of the masses, you have stepped up and demonstrated how people should work together to create a better world 🥺😢My hat's off to you ❤ You are an incredible human being 🏆❤
This is SO COOL, Al!
But actually, the best part of all is how this homeless man became your helper, a partner in your work.
That alone made both of you have a wonderful experience.
Thanks again, Al.
Perhaps, by getting this gentleman some RUclips exposure, someone will see his willingness to work hard, and hook him up with a job. You're a good man, Al.
I wish someone could hire that homeless gentleman. 🙏
You've just restored that man's faith in humanity. He's such a handy guy and a hard worker.
Well done Al.. 🙏❤️❤️❤️
Praying a job position is given to him( I think his name was Kevin) after this video goes viral with Al! 🙏
You are a good man,Al.
That overgrowth was a hazard to drivers as well as any pedestrian! Great job and I’m sure you made him feel needed ! Awesome once again! ❤
Awesome work, Kevin and Al! The city and police ought to be ashamed of themselves not reporting or ticketing property owners for not keeping up with the section and not harassing pedestrians/homeless people from walking around it!
Is the city’s property, that’s why
It's all on the CITY they have the legal RIGHTS. Over. That property.
from the center of the ROAD. I. Think it's 36 feet. Don't git cout. Riding your lawnmower on your own lawn with a BEER. To close to the ROAD. D. U. I. Time
Homeowners and the city are responsible. It’s impeding especially for those in wheelchairs. Once it grows over to the city side it’s their responsible.
@@diannepierce936 the city has the legal rights to your land. Il it within there esmint. I know a friend got a DUI. Mowing his Grass in his yard. And for the past 18 years the city comes. And mowed the 6 feat of his Grass he won't and picks up his beer cans
