@@seen1389 Yes, our family is from the village of Marjaayoun in Lebanon.
Humanity owes a hell lot to this bloke..
He ventured into domains considered inaccessible for ages before him..
True true true genius..
Gods gift to humanity ! Imagine the personal sacrifices he made to save thousands of lives. Heroic , patriotic humanitarian .
Dr. Debakey and Dr. Cooley operated on my step father back in 1984. They did an aortic valve replacement and mitral valve replacement on him at the V.A. hospital in Houston Texas. The man was my idol. He was an amazing surgeon, and i wanted 2 be like him. but due to my grades i wasnt good enough 2 become a dr. R.I.P. Dr. Debakey
He was operated on by two of the biggest legends in Vascular surgery
I have immense respect for the hero . He has truly made great contributions that has made ground breaking works in the world of medicine!
There are a few as genius as Dr. DeBakey.
He changed our world.
Thanks Dr Cooley!!!!! Long time ago you and your wonderful team made a surgery on me...May God bless you and give all the blessings you deserve
RIP Dr. Debakey. One man can make a difference.
the right Person in the right time and place produces this exceptional doctor. the world own U.
Help. Ok here goes. My God Father in Detroit once had a cold and said he called "Mike" for advice. It was Debakey!! I said "how do you know him"? He said they grew up together in the same village in Lebanon (the Lebanon of the middle east). Now I know he was born in Louisiana but does anyone know if after his birth his family went back to Lebanon to live before returning to the USA? I was told Dr. Debakey's father was a tailor and that Michael starting sewing from a very young age-a skill critical to vascular surgery during the time he practiced.
The village my family is from in Lebanon is called Marjaayoun. I don't believe Michael ever lived in Lebanon, but perhaps visited, so not sure what your father meant. Dr. DeBakey's father was a retail salesman that owned a drug store, not a tailor, but his mother taught him how to sew at a young age and they made their own clothes. He was born in Lake Charles Louisiana.
I never for get you 😢 dr Michael De Bakey you 100 year super.

*он чо серьезно ливанец ??? Сроду не подумала-бы, а по нему не скажешь что он из муслим*
he's Lebanese
No his parents were Lebanese immigrants who travelled to America.
he's American
He wasn't Arab, he comes from a minority Christian ethnic group called maronites in Lebanon and middle East who have been oppressed for centuries by both Sunni and Shia muslim Arabs, his parents immigrated to the United States in 1908 and since then he is an American. So stop lying about his identity that he is Arab, he isn't Arab and neither was ever a Muslim. He was a practicing Christian. And if you can only call him a Christian Lebanese
