On a hot and very uncomfortably humid day in July, we walk under the train tracks of the 6 train in The Bronx - NYC. We will be walking along Westchester Avenue from Elder Avenue to Metropolitan Avenue in the neighborhoods of Soundview and Parkchester. Westchester Avenue is home to the elevated tracks of the 6 train from Soundview to Pelham Bay. We will hear plenty of train traffic sounds as we make our way along the busy streets of The Bronx.
The avenue is lined with many retail stores, markets, street vendors, and places to grab some food. There will be plenty of people on the streets, and a good amount of traffic. Once we come to Metropolitan Avenue, we will continue walking through the Parkchester neighborhood until calling it a day at the Bronx Unionport Parkchester Park. It will be a refreshing end to a hot walk because of the many fountains at the park.

This is the borough I'm least familiar with having gone there four times, one of which was to go to a Yankee game. Reminded me a bit of 86th St. with the trains above. Thanks for the walk-through of territory I never covered.

One thing I have learned about people that live in Brooklyn and The Bronx. Most people that live in Brooklyn have only been there a handful of times and it was to go see a Yankees game or visit The Bronx Zoo. And most people that live in The Bronx have only been to Brooklyn a handful of times, and that was to go to Prospect Park and Coney Island. 👟👟
