    Nice job. 12 volts DC at around 5 amps and one hour. Etching looks to be about 1 mm (1/25th in) deep. Thanks for showing us.

    Well that was quick clear and straight to the point. Thank you for sharing.

    Nice deep etch.
    Rewire the transformer (and throw a switch in there) in your car charger to get AC out of it and you can blacken the background. First etch and then blacken. Looks really good as well.

    best bitumen diluted a bit in gasoline, paint over, dry and scratch the pattern, letters, it is possible under a microscope, and etch ....

      and there is "white bitumen" to draw above because with black you can't see the drawing!

    How do you make the sticky design paper/vinyl?
    Is that made on a printer?

      Yes, for negative part u can use copper piece

      Do you mean copper piece instead of a steel piece? Not sure if this method works with copper, but it will with aluminum

      "For etching steel, it is recommended that you add some vinegar to the salt water electrolyte as this reduces the build up of insoluble rust in the electrolyte."

    How much detail can you get with that. I.e. a family or fraternity crest. Did you print the desing on the vinyle first

    Sir how to etching sculpture design on iron. Because my job size 14 mm round shape.so it's not possible design cutting on vinyl.its possible only design transfer by photo resistance film.but after transfer design .When I etching on iron like your process.the film removed during process so how to fix photo resistance film on iron bar.please help me.

      the blog link in description says that spray paint also worked as a resist. So you could use a stencil, and spray or dapple your design onto the surface.
      But first, i'd just suggest you SAND the metal surface, and clean it with a solvent like alchohol (ethanol / methylated spirits) or acetone. Coz it may just be that the surface is dirty and that's why the resist falls off.

      Or use a ferric chloride acid method instead

    If we don't have dc voltage can we do it with ac if yes tell me how

    • @thebeybladearmory
      @thebeybladearmory 4 года назад +2

      Depending on the electrical current (AC or DC) used, marking and etching give different results and affect the metal surface differently.
      AC (Alternating Current) marking/etching results in a dark mark/imprint on the metal piece - without any changes done to the surface.
      On the other hand, Direct Current - DC marking is more similar to engraving - some of the surface is removed through a chemical reaction.

      @adamlong54 4 года назад

      @@rajatsingh8348 naw its perfectly fine bro it has to break the coating of the blueing first it really dont do any harm . liquid soap in the scrubbing rinsing process neutralize any acidity. We aint etching it by adding baking soada or electricity its fine . be no more than using citric acid then neutralizing it with soaps alkalinity. I work with chemicals daily trust me we are good to go.
