Heavenly father, in complete agreement with this message I loosen the promise of ephesians 5:25 that leadership of men means taking responsibility and sacrifice for the woman they love, loosening myself of every bossy man that plays the leader without being a leader upon no return, loosening myself of men that do not take the responsibility they have to take in my life, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
I have been examining religion for so long trying to find a way not to believe, but to believe IN religion. I am concerned that Christians are trying to absolve themselves of their sins by removing responsibility from the equation by declairing that they were just following their leader, Christ. Kinda like a soldier saying he was just following orders.
As a believer of 35 years, a husband, father, and friend of many many Christians over the years, I have never once encountered someone with that mindset. We follow Christ as our example and take responsibility for our actions. Idk where this idea comes from, but we cannot absolve ourselves of our sins EVER. And we will all be judged by our actions down to our very heart and motives. Hypocrisy will be uncovered on the day we stand before him. And I think true Christians know this and strive to do right to please God and serve others just as Jesus did. Nowhere should that be more clear than in the marriage relationship.
So how did you get this from one verse? Obviously a husband’s role is to sacrifice and take responsibility. Yet if that’s true shouldn’t the wife also follow the leadership of the husband? Obviously because the Bible says so.
Yes, that is correct. But as Dr. Piper mentions, it’s a wonderful dance. In an ideal biblical marriage, it’s good and uplifting for the husband and wife to support each other (the man as the leader and protector and the woman as the follower and nurturer) because those roles are perfectly complementary and built around each serving the other.
A very sobering and Biblical admonition on marriage and my mindset about how I approach my responsibility as a father, husband....Sobering

"...'This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?'" (Jn. 6:60b)
Now that’s the truth! I’ve seen so many churches close because of a Narcissistic leader.
Amen 💜✞🕊
