Thank you so much for bringing up the movement issues I swear that sliding down slopes gives you WAY less velocity than it did in prior seasons, even those really long slopes on Storm Point that we loved punchboosting off of feel like you're getting no momentum when you slide jump down it before. In earlier seasons, it was faster to continuously time your slide jump to go faster but now it feels faster just to have one continuous slide instead. hope someone covers this more in-depth in the future. Another spot where I remember slide jumping down is that big hill on Worlds Edge, leading towards Fragment (where the zipline travels towards the entrance to Landslide). Obviously, we're not able to see how it feels on this map since it's not in rotation at the moment but hopefully it leads to more evidence / data.

I hate the punching while pulling the gun out. I usually put my gun away before healing, don't ask me why I don't know neither and should stop doing that. And if I cancel the heal press "1"or "2" to get the gun out and left click immediately it just punches and resets the time to get the gun out, making me lose that fight.
I'm actually sad punch boosting got removed it was really fun and at least I never experienced people using it as an exploit. Are you gonna stream soon Mokey?

I do highly agree with movements getting shadow nerfed. Even whem i build up my speed to do slide jumps, i get a lot of dead slides it is quite frustrating
Hello mokey. Just want to bring to your attention that Valk’s passive randomly stops working. I have played many hours on her and can trigger her passive to escape enemies many times, but since the last leg of s11, I can’t open my jet pack sometimes. Instead she just keeps jumping like a fish out of water. Speaking of water, this mainly happens in Stormpoint map, in and around those shallow lakes.

Paused at 5:50 I can definitely confirm my experiences with sluggish movement this season. I feel like I’ve been moving through shin deep water pretty often and it’s very frustrating when I can’t react to being shot at and die faster as a result.
Finally someone mentions the fps/stuttering issue on PC! My frametime graph shows lots of massive spikes when playing in all modes now that didn't exist before season 12
2 things I don't like to mention: If you slide on magpies speed boosts you will get a really long slide, it's not useful but it's pretty fun to slide for like 10 seconds straight. Another thing is something I haven't seen people doing and I'm not sure if I've discovered a new movement tech or if it's just something that nobody uses, but I like to call it spamsliding. This is where you start a slide, and then spam the crouch button while you're sliding. This allows you to constantly accelerate, and I need to test this more, but I think you may be able to infinitely accelerate without stopping.
If you find your jumpad glitched and in a pinch, instead of walking over it or sliding into it, jump onto it/jump crouch onto the pad to register the pad. Also I found if you tap strafe on a gravity cannon and start healing or sheilding while in the air, your character will slide very far like horizon when hitting the ground as long as you are still healing/sheilding by the time you hit the ground. Works about 70-80% of the time for me.

I think it's funny how I tried most of the control movement tech on my own. One thing i notice that feels weird too is octane stim. I just feel like I get slowed down when I'm getting hit in odd situations. Jump fatigue wall bouncing looks really interesting. 'o'

Hi mokey, if you press jump while on top of a glitched pad it should then work. This works when sliding as well. It's still super inconvenient when bugged but it's better than having it be completely useless. Hope that saves u in some games man.
I’ve noticed the noregging and problems with movement, especially whilst being shot at and the flinching while being shot during ads seems a lot more, I never noticed it really before s12
2:49 I found out abt this a long time ago when arenas first showed up. I jump, crouched and punched midair at the barrier wall before the round started and it would send me flying backwards. I’m surprised ppl didn’t know abt it
The best part i liked about punch boosting is that it enabled fast movement when being shot. It generated a lot of speed after slowing down when shot and it saved me an average amount of times

The last 3 seasons seem as though no regs have been becoming more and more common. No regs have always been a thing of course, but man the issue just keeps growing and growing. Also it was weird. I was solo dropping Pubs, and some noobs wanted to hunt me down cause of my trail. For some reason they are moving faster than me down a hill. When I'm sliding down the hill and they aren't. I even had the extra momentum from them punching me beforehard to hopefully catapult me forward, but no they were able to still run faster than I could slide down a hill. Why was that the case. Assuming what you say about server issues effecting movement is true. Then it really needs to be fixed badly. Cause it has effected way more than sliding, but this was just a personal experience I found that stuck out the most and was most obvious. So many times it feels as though I gain little to no extra momentum sliding down hill, and in that situation I was gaining less momentum.
Crypto main: used to know the best pathfinder in the world, had a 14 k/d, used to grapple my drone and hit full damage pk headshots in the original duos mode. Hope he's doin okay haven't seen him in over a year, he had to go to basic training at the beginning of the pandemic, most talented kid I'll ever know hope he's okay.
Its been fairly difficult to play as of late, practically every game has an extreme case of rubberbanding. I move in a straight line and get yeeted 3 seconds ahead then 5 seconds behind my original position only to be yeeted 2 seconds ahead again. I side strafe while shooting and barfely any of my PK shots register. Heck, there have been times where heals and reloads keep getting cancelled leading to an even further time of being vulnerable.
Just commenting on the movement issues of S12: I find movement is a ton better this season. I'm from South Africa, so the closest server with actual player population is usually Belgium, London or Amsterdam. All of these I will have 170-220 ping to, and that's unfortunately just how it is when you're from a part of the world that game devs seem to forget exists. However, movement has felt really good for me this season. Sprint acceleration feels somewhat smoother, wallbounces seem a little less ping-dependant now (the timing used to be suuuuper tight for me, it feels a bit more forgiving and I can now get them more consistently as a result), and I think there may be one or two other changes that have just made movement feel overall "smoother". I know I'm more of an edge case, not everyone plays with 200 ping and I know some people are super elitist and refuse to play on anything other than their closest server because "anything over 50 is unplayable bro", but I think for those of us with high ping (and ping disadvantage as a result) RSPN has made huge advances in making the game smoother for us. That said, I've definitely been feeling the noregs issue. There have been a bunch of times where I know I hit the guy, but either due to ping or a noreg they just didn't die and killed me instead. I've been chalking it up to ping disadvantage, but it's probably also sprinkled with noregs too. Just feels a lot more prevalent this season than previous ones.
For the movement issues part, i think it is the servers. The servers are worse than it used to be. 3 out of 5 matches i have crazy packet loss, or irrelevant high ping, meanwhile my internet connection good and stable. And last night the slow motion server effect were back.
In terms of movement, I have to say something that might be a key info for figuring out the shadow nerf. I'm a controller player(on PC), and I use macros for tap strafing, but recently, not on launch day of Season 12, but recently a few days or maybe a week ago, I noticed my tap strafing wasn't working, or wasn't working as well as they did, to the point it was even similar to the test server nerf. I was freaking out, even asking team mates during a game if it was nerfed or removed. Well, I did some experimentation, and when I reduced the speed of the macro turbo function, it worked, so now, I can't tap strafe at the max macro speed anymore, but it doesn't feel too noticibly different. I will say tho, it was weird. In the moment, I just chalked it up to my controller bugging out or something, or maybe getting old and getting delayed. I did have issues with crouching that same day, where crouching did not work as well for some reason, however the button seemed fine.
I gotta say the movement been hit definitely this season bunch boasting at its core definitely got something to do with the movement in apex so when they nerfed it something happened to the engine of this game that led to do some lag to the other movement techs
Hey Mokey, idk if you'll see this but I've noticed that you can run and spam crouch and you won't lose speed, you won't gain any I'm pretty sure, but while running, if you keep crouching with the 'hold to crouch' setting on, you still have the same speed. I'm playing on console so I can't check the velocity but you possibly could do some testing.

I was already doing this to cancel the Fall head bob and slow. Sometimes it would send me on insane slides. Didn’t realize it was punch boosting too but I guess you could see it that way.
Right in a day season 12 got released I got ill with certain popular virus. So I had to stay home, but I was able to play. Movement "shadow nerf" is definitely something that I have experienced, but I thought that I just play bad because of the headache and stuff lol
something i noticed this season is that during some games, my sprint speed is much faster than others. I assume this is also due to worse server connections than usual this season

I commented on the clip channel about how my bhopping momentum felt slowed and also a lot less effective with momentum losing said momentum even after octane stim, still unsure but if others feel like there might have been a shadow nerf than I guess it’s not impossible
So about that wall bounce of the big door, I found something similar using the door to wraith labs on KK, I don't have a clip of it but if when i would wall bounce of the door as it opened the door almost pulled me with it. not sure if this is applicable to what your talking about but I figured it was neat and worth mentioning.
Well... the jump fatigue wallbounce (which I call low altitude wallbounce) omto those houses is basically impossible for me on controller sadly... 😥 But other than that, love these vids!
That guy that did the jump fatigue wall bounce into superglide did it so damn smooth I wish i could do that :( I'm on controller so supergliding and superjumping I've mastered but I dont think I can use lurches on it
I actually am pretty sure that they have lowered tickrate even further below 20 to around 12 and your brain isn't used to this new sync that's why movement feels weird to people who used it a lot and also why there are more no hit-reg

Punch boosting should have never been removed. Console, keyboard and mouse, and controller on pc all could do it. It’s stupid that it was removed.

Macros are against Apex Legends TOS. If you want to tap strafe on controller just manually do the forward inputs

JUMP FATIGUE WALL BOUNCE! Finally, a more descriptive name! I've been messin' about with this for like... 4 seasons. (Underexploring application though.)

I can say, I used to sit on a comfortable 0-12 ping but since the latest update I have been on a 19-36 ping
I was already doing this to cancel the Fall head bob and slow. Sometimes it would send me on insane slides. Didn’t realize it was punch boosting too but I guess you could see it that way.
Right in a day season 12 got released I got ill with certain popular virus. So I had to stay home, but I was able to play. Movement "shadow nerf" is definitely something that I have experienced, but I thought that I just play bad because of the headache and stuff lol
I'm hoping to see the jump fatigue tutorial soon. That tech looked so useful especially in the olympus houses🥴

something i noticed this season is that during some games, my sprint speed is much faster than others. I assume this is also due to worse server connections than usual this season

I commented on the clip channel about how my bhopping momentum felt slowed and also a lot less effective with momentum losing said momentum even after octane stim, still unsure but if others feel like there might have been a shadow nerf than I guess it’s not impossible
So about that wall bounce of the big door, I found something similar using the door to wraith labs on KK, I don't have a clip of it but if when i would wall bounce of the door as it opened the door almost pulled me with it. not sure if this is applicable to what your talking about but I figured it was neat and worth mentioning.

Well... the jump fatigue wallbounce (which I call low altitude wallbounce) omto those houses is basically impossible for me on controller sadly... 😥

For some jumpad glitches, you can make it work by jumping while on the pad.
That guy that did the jump fatigue wall bounce into superglide did it so damn smooth I wish i could do that :( I'm on controller so supergliding and superjumping I've mastered but I dont think I can use lurches on it
theres also an issue with the triple take not keeping the charged shot off after switching weapons
for the jumpad: if u stay in the jumpad and it’s laggy and won’t let u jump, just jump while standing in the pad
I actually am pretty sure that they have lowered tickrate even further below 20 to around 12 and your brain isn't used to this new sync that's why movement feels weird to people who used it a lot and also why there are more no hit-reg

Yeah I’m sad because it’s a thing that console players like me could do too and that’s special because there’s a lack of movement tricks on console. Also it’s really easy to do and the only trick I managed to learn so sad it’s gone
