Thanks for these videos. They are the best I've found in terms of actually using the synth and not just going through theoretical features. I have the manuals and everything, so it's really the craft and the workflows different people use to compose on this thing that I find most helpful.
@@palerider_New80s_music Thanks for the vid. I'm not a keyboardist but picked one of these up and love this little thing. I don't know of anything else like it on the market. Was looking at the jd xa also. Main thing I picked it up was being able to play along with my guitar using the sequencer. I seen a lot of negitive comments on these but again I love this thing. I guess for a professional it would not be to par. For some reason I'm having issues on saving multiple tracks to favorites. Thanks again for vid, much appreciated!
Good tutorial thanks. It is probably an error on my part but when I got to the stage where you make a bassline, I completely lost the pattern of drums I has just made. Seems to have vanished haha. Not sure how i managed that.
@palerider_New80s_music I think you are right. I've only just started learning how to piece together full songs using favourites etc. Not had the synth for long. On the surface it looks like a groove box toy, but now I've seen some RUclips videos, I'm starting to realise it's a very detailed machine under the hood. I'm very impressed with it. So is it a case of using shift and saving each sequence in each of the 16 Favourites buttons. Thanks again 😎👍 EDIT: Sorry, I mean are there other ways to layer the sequences together for playback other than Favourites?
@judgeberry6071 Not in this synth. The JD-Xi has not a Song mode. To create full songs with up to 8/16 tracks, you’d scale to upper synths like the Fantom series.
Hi. Rule #1 in the JD-Xi: Save any change or it will be lost", A Track or "Program" is saved by saving the 4 parts that make that program. Let's say you choose Program F25 to make a Track. Any pattern, arpeggio, tone, Fxs, or whatever you make, change or create will be stored in that particular program F25. Just press SHIFT+ WRITTING/MENU button, and then press "ENTER"". If you create a new bass tone in that program, you will find it stored in the F25 program, but it's not added to a bass bank.
Heey Im an absolute beginner on this device but I have a basic question if you have time to answer; how do I record a three note (normal) chord and then have it played? Like looped ? When I try, it only plays back one note or it plays it really fast even though i slowed down the tempo... What I would like is to record a sequence of chords and then have it played in the same tempo I played it... 😫
When you make a sequence, the tempo is not the one are playing, but the b.p.m in the set up. If you want to make a sequence in the tempo you play it, use the real time rec method in 1,2 or 4 measures and loop it.

Maybe you forgot to save the drums pattern.
