Until schools can teach reading, writing and arithmetic to the point of literacy, they should not be allowed to teach anything else.
I had a Manager, with an advanced degree, who did not know the difference between "right" or "rite", much less how to spell it.

Used to be that people went to the courthouse to pay taxes. They WANTED to pay taxes because they had control over their communities. Then government forced taxes to automatically be taken out of our payroll. That is when Unions took over the government and no longer listened to the citizens because the people could no longer NOT pay taxes.

The problem is is that likely will never happen because while pre-post secondary schools are much easier for parents to interact with, for lack of a better term, post secondary schools are much harder for parents to see what's going on unless their kids tell them, and since the kids are often being indoctrinated, they won't say or allow them to do anything. Parents should however be involved if they're going to pay

Praise God that he led me to Homeschool my children 21 years ago! I have one who just finished her college degree and excelled in her classes. She called me frequently thanking me for teaching her how to properly read and write, critically think, know true history, debate, have morals and work hard! She did all this while married, having two children, working full time, volunteering and being very active in church and in politics!!! I have just graduated my 2nd born and she too has already done great things! She has big plans, too. I have 3 still in school and will graduate my last in 10 years. I will probably homeschool my grandkids!

Keep them active in sports, go to museums, gardens, etc. Stay away from screens as much as possible. 👍

So it is explicitly stated in the bill (and to be included in the legislation), that prohibiting teaching these topics is *not* what the legislation can be used for.
Context very much matters here, because the language of the bill says the exact opposite of how he misinterpreted it by leaving out the important *NOT* in front of it. I don't know if his reading skills are just that bad, or if what he did there was malicious. He literally turned the language of the bill into its opposite.

@Damir Vidović I get the sentiment but when we used to not have a public school system, illiteracy rates were way higher which made for an even more dumb nation, plus the youth wasn’t in school so they swelled the labor force at cheaper wage rates which also created some pretty tough issues. After studying up on the industrial revolution, the public school idea isn’t all that bad

By high school, it was done over the loud speaker and anyone who didn’t wish to participate was able to stay seated, and remain respectfully silent. I didn’t do it once during high school; I elected to stay seated every single time.
The pledge was modified in 1923 and again in 1954 for indoctrination purposes. It clearly breaches the idea of separation between church & state and is pretty contradictory in its own right.
Like, wouldn’t it be weird if we were asked to recite it every time we went to the DMV or a government building? Maybe it ought to be phased out.

It's hard at many schools to get off-days for your kids for anything parents might have planned *unless it's for a medical reason or sickness.* They are very, very, very uptight that the student attends the school each day that school is in session.
Prisons are another government system that uses the headcount of inmates to fill the prisons to make money. That's why the Wardens want to take in as many prisoners as possible. Thankfully, prison guards and faculty, despite being officers, do not get the same authority privileges as Field Officers (hence why they are called Correctional Officers).

My 6 year old granddaughter was online for school one day. They were speaking about race theory. She says do I have to listen I said no go away I'll let you know when there done.
Disgusting. My mother opted to homeschool my younger siblings. I feel like they’re so much more grounded to other kids.
The best tool we can teach our children is critical thinking. Parents and guardians can't keep them hidden away forever. Teach them morality and to be a good ambassador of their country. The real world will always be a challenge. They have to learn to battle it.

Proud to be a NJ parent who fought for my own son while he was in primary school and would happily join the movement today (even tho my son is 23) if I wasn’t working 16 hour days. KEEP IT ALL OUT OF OUR SCHOOLS UNLESS IT IS RELEVANT TO OUR CHILDREN’S EDUCATION. It’s the job of the parents, to educate our children on ethics and morals at home. HolyCanoley it’s called there are levels to things. Many things existed long ago that weren’t extreme at the time but grew to be. When I was in school CRT was basically not a thing. I learned about racism and slavery but not the psychotic brainwashing which is in the forefront today. Trying to suggest crt today and decades ago are one in the same is ridiculous.

I didn't read the bill either but making such hyperbolic statements as 'they banned teaching slavery' is so contrary to common sense that I think in those cases you can cut short the argument if the person is going to stand there on demonstrably false information.
It’s funny Richard mentions reading is fundamental. I assume the bill in Iowa he is talking about is House Bill 802 and he read word for word what section 3 point 4f says. What he did was read “f” without reading point 4 that says “This section shall NOT be construed to do any of the following:” and then goes on in point “f” to list those things as something that curriculum should not be limited on teaching. So… I guess he’s right. Reading is fundamental but comprehension and accurate interpretation must have been the section he skipped in the jumpstart program he completed. Nicely done Richard.

Richard quickly qualified his exclusions of what could be taught on in Iowa. He had said, “Critical Race Theory couldn’t teach on slavery, segregation, etc.” He was implying the bill excluded the teaching at all on the subjects, but it’s just as CRT!

The teaching of history in this country can be seen as selective. Thus far its understood everywhere in the world that parents are responsible for guiding a child. They are also the people who feed and clothe a child and make sure they have a place to sleep, so really not that stupid. And parents are far more likely to have the child's best interests at heart then anyone else. The school system certainly does not. When a kid does something wrong, its the parents that are responsible, not the school system.
The numbers speak for themselves: Homeschooled kids score far better in all placement tests then kids that go to public schools. they tests at least as well as private school students. It's no secret that the public school system is failing, with kids slipping further behind.
