I loved how you did the metal areas, usually I use the citadel colours for metal, even if I prefer vallejo in general. By the way, would you consider to do a tutorial on blending? Great work as always, by the way cheers
87MrPippo There is a tutorial on blending (generally). It's under my technique series. Also, normal Vallejo metals are awful, but the Vallejo air paints are another story. They are excellent - better than Citadel in my opinion.
Hi Congrats on another great tutorial. Quick question.How can one sort of break up the ummmmm monotony of a medieval knightly army. I tried going over the metal work with a sort of smoke ink or blue ink just before the final highlight but nothing seemed to work. They can't all have had the same alloy and If I'm painting individuals I sort of want an individual look though part of a fighting force- Ideas??? Thanks :):):)
panzerleader49 Have you tried doing some black type armour? I did a tutoral on an Elizabethan soldier with dark armour on, but they were using it much earlier already. If you are going to incorporate colors, that's a good idea too, but you prolly want to start earlier in the process. Try mixing just a hint of blue or purple into all the layers you apply to the model.
I usually use the long nibbed standard ones because they achieve a finer, thinner point. They both work well though. Really up to you. I recommend trying both and seeing which you prefer.
+Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy Have you done a video of it. That is the part of painting figures that gives me the most trouble, so sadly I do use decals IF i can find some for the specific type figs I'm painting.
I have done various free-hand work in a variety of videos, which does include some shield designs, though I don't think ever specifically on a high medieval knight. I hope to do something like that in the future, but of course, it's quite time consuming. :-)

Maybe if I can find a knight with an armoured or covered horse, I'll do that sooner, since it's different from other horses I painted and wouldn't involve so much horse flesh (always tedious).
