This looks so great that I think I am going to go pick up a pack of Perry knights right now. I plan on airbrushing the main metallic color to knock out most of the basecoat step quickly. Thanks for the tutorial :)
Amazing and easy to follow tutorial THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! Your helping many of us out a lot! KEEP IT UP! Please. You are awesome! Would love to see you cover American War of Independence, either side.
Does anyone know of any washes that dont stain surfaces but only darken the fluting and cracks? I dont really want dark splodges in the middle of his cuirass
IT depends on what you want to do! My Empire knights for fantasy have black steel, which is much easier to do with a black spray. But for my infantry I prefer lighter colors, to which I use white.
Thanks a lot I didn’t even see all the details! But I just spray primed in chainmail, did a wash wish nuln oil and added the details later. Went out fine that way and saved me hours of work.
It's a bit of a strange one really, matt varnish is designed to remove the glossiness of miniatures often as the result of using inks or washes. Now in theory it shouldn't effect the shininess of metals because that is achieved by small metal flakes in the paint and not the surface itself. In my experience matt varnish won't kill your metals but it will take a slight shininess off them.
Awesome, showing that warhammer isn't the main miniature focus, also do you have any tips for painting the wings of the Lord of change model? It's a tzeentch model of which you paint and have knowledge of
While I do get sent paint samples by the Army Painter I'm not paid by them for using their products. Besides, I've been using Army Painter long before I started making these videos :)
not unless you wanted to slip over...i thought the shoes were leather as well...it was what i wore when i did re-enactment years ago..they were slippy as welll
@@j.k.4761 + I would agree, I'm not sure how they are slippy, as they fit over shoes, with a thin metal plate similar to a horse bit holding the toe and a strap around the ankle. With out sabaton's guess where a good opponent is going to target, not to mention English arrow fire.
I probably won't be doing a tutorial specifically on the Firefly but you could follow my M10 Wolverine tutorial instead. That will give you a good idea on how to paint it.
I always go for grey over black, you can see the details easier and it gives a slightly darker tone. Wish you made more videos like this I'm thinking of making a wars of the roses army based on a real family. I'll probably do the Neville's if I go through with the plan. Brilliant video though, really useful, thanks!
They aren't quite as intricate as Warhammer which means they can be quite forgiving if you don't have as steady a hand. They are a little smaller though and if you haven't painted anything in a while then some of larger chunky Stormcast Eternals from Games Workshop might be a better choice.
Super tutorial, Very good color guide. Like the army color. Thanks. Painting romans by Vixtrix. Problem with the red color. Do you have an idea of how to do this ?.
Thanks_ I tried to do a darker red closer to the tunic color _ with a chaotic red base and vampire red highlight _ but it looks strange brown reddish and not dark red. Do you have an idea have do it more dark red ?
Thanks for the great tutorial. I noticed you working exclusively in Army Painter paints in this video. Can you speak to why you made this choice?(Just curious).
I mainly use GW paints for GW minis and Army Painter for everything else. The main reason is that I find that Army Painter is great for painting up large armies for games like Kings of War and Bolt Action. However for GW miniatures, I find them to be much more intricate and so the more expansive range of colours from GW allow me to really bring those details to life.
Perry miniatures are so gorgeous..
I really like this tutorial, and because of the amount of armour it looks like you could paint a army very quickly

Great job mate looks like a real foot knight from Richard III army
Thanks!
hi had mine box today looking for word to start painting again thanks great work...
This is perfect, im kitbashing a palladius regiment for 40k and am using Perry miniatures footmen and some other bits from online as a base.

Impressive and effective technique, great tuto!
⭐️ well made and very helpful ⭐️ thanks for taking the time 👍
Beautiful work...fantastic suggestions!!!
cool video again love the paint scheme I may take a look in to getting these
They are great miniatures that have lots of potential wargaming applications
I really like the way your knight came out. It's very similar to my own way of painting plate armor.
Thank you very much :D
Great tutorial, thanks!
Wow, I'm an idiot. I've been using black primer. Thanks for the great tips!

Very good info. Great job.
I'd love to see you paint some Guild Ball models. Thoroughly enjoying these painting tutorials
Too many models too little time! They are great looking models and I would like to look at them at some point.
What type of colour do you use?
Is it just me or do these look like they'd make a good base for a fuedal regiment of imperial guard?
Great tutorial! Can you comment on varnishing please? Does a matt varnish kill the metallics? Thank you.

+The War Gamer I really appreciate the response, thank you. makes sense!
Lovely job mate
Thank you very much :D
Very enjoyable as always :) You should do some tutorials of how to paint Reaper Bones miniatures.
I've actually never picked up any Reaper miniatures but maybe I should!
Hi, why didn´t you use the gun metal spray?
I find the metallic sprays often leave a speckled finish and for this I wanted a smoother metallic appearance so I opted for the brush approach.
Thx. You are making a high sandart of vids, do you make these alone or in a team?
Nice work, I'd love to see a tutorial for a bolt action German grenadier
I may well be producing a tutorial for them around the time that the new BA V2 Starter Set is released.
+The War Gamer okay awesome, I pre ordered my set the other day
Masterclass!thank you for excellent tips 5*
What do you use to hold the figure to the cap?
You can use blu-tack, poster putty, museum putty, double-side foam/carpet tape, or a watered-down drop of pva/white (shool) glue.
Great guide to apply to Warriors if minas Tirith for lord of the rings!
That a good idea
Nice tutorial, thx you
You're welcome!
Do you clean the individual parts of the figures before assembling or assemble then wash the figure before painting?
Joe Steers No. Just get the plastic mold lines off and you're good to go.
Wonderful! Thank you!
What do you use to keep the miniatures on the stand you have them on??
It's just Blu-Tac or poster tac on top of an old paint pot.
alright thanks mate
Do you not prime these miniatures prior to your application of paint?
+brandon sechrist I do, I use a grey primer
Awesome, showing that warhammer isn't the main miniature focus, also do you have any tips for painting the wings of the Lord of change model? It's a tzeentch model of which you paint and have knowledge of
Have you seen my Gaunt Summoner tutorial? You could probably employ a technique similar to the one I use on the Summoners robe for the wings.
I will definitely try, thank you
Really cool.
What brushes did you use?
I use some Kolinsky Sable brushes from www.elementgames.co.uk
Hey,
Just wondering could you please tell me where you got your paints and ink from??
Thanks.
And your video is very helpful.
It saved me.
arirat laokoket it should be in most hobby shops
Great tutorial!!
Thanks!
How's the quality on the figures overall/is this hard plastic? This one looks pretty good.
Here you go :) ruclips.net/video/rnWLDF1FVC8/видео.html
Thanks! The figures look great and the price for the amount that you get is astounding.
Do you have a sponsorship from Army Painter, or is it jusy your preference?
While I do get sent paint samples by the Army Painter I'm not paid by them for using their products. Besides, I've been using Army Painter long before I started making these videos :)
Thanks, love the painting videos
Fun fact the shoes were usually cloth but for a soldier it makes sense to paint it to be leather
Aren´t Sabatons more likely?
not unless you wanted to slip over...i thought the shoes were leather as well...it was what i wore when i did re-enactment years ago..they were slippy as welll

How much for you to paint my mini
Can you PLEASEEEEEEE do a painting tutorial on the boltaction plastic sherman Firefly?
I probably won't be doing a tutorial specifically on the Firefly but you could follow my M10 Wolverine tutorial instead. That will give you a good idea on how to paint it.
Nicely done, gg
is there a specific game your painting these for...one you would recommend?
They would fit perfectly as a 'Brotherhood' force in Kings of War
The reason I am asking is because of your Bolt action videos and a demo I saw I picked up assault on Normandy.
thoroughly recommend Lion Rampant for medieval, or dragon rampant if you want to use them as a human force in a fantasy setting

Looking to getback into painting miniatures, would you recomend these over warhammer? Great videos by the way (:

You could maybe follow the same steps for the red that I use in this video: ruclips.net/video/pM2HnAaNsYA/видео.html

such realistic face colour :D i am jelly my faces are ugly
Nice 👍🏿

You can't say 2 thin coats without having Duncan Rhodes face flashing on screen!
They're tiny. Good work, nerd.
