  • Western thought--science, religion, and each one of us all day long--misses a fundamental truth about reality. Why do we let other people's words bother us? How can we see our condition more clearly and move forward personally and collectively in a more helpful way given the actual reality.
I look forward to seeing your comments and questions.

My collection of essays called "The Science Spell" makes a case that when it comes to intelligence and belief in a spiritual reality, we can have our cake and eat it too. The two go hand-in-hand. Check it out on Amazon here:

My second collection of essays, "Of Geometry & Jesus" goes broader in scope than "The Science Spell." Here I roam coyote-like across the imaginary borders between science, philosophy, sociology, anthropology, psychology, history, myth, religion, the supernatural, and our own direct experience of the world. The real good news wasn't Jesus. It was his message. It was something about the universe--about existence itself. This part of my series on Jesus explores what that message is and a little about my own experience with it.
    Enjoy!
    About this series:
Jesus Christ wasn't who almost anyone thinks he was. And his message is more important than almost anyone realizes.
What Christ embodied and taught transcends our neat categories, whether religious, scientific, or strictly historical.
This series puts Jesus in the largest possible perspective, revealing what he said about reality and our place in it.
Encompassing the historical, psychological, and the spiritual, this series frees our view of Jesus from both the dogma of the church and the skepticism of atheists.
