Foxes are generally dog-like or elated. So what they say/what sound they make can be attributed similarly. The elephant line in the song is a bit inaccurate, as they don’t “toot” per say. It’s more like they scream or are sounding the alarm when they’re startled or panicked.

Dogs are one of most famous and popular animals. So people are generally familiar with barks and other vocializations of dogs. Puppies and toy dogs are smaller. So they have thier dog vocalizations more high pitched. A fox sounds a bit like that. It is essentially a kind of small dog that lives in the wild. Foxes sound pretty raspy and wierd. I think they sound like a dog on helium. I have heard that the mating calls sounds like a woman's scream. This video gives several examples of fox vocalizations. It is nice to explain the song. The song is awesome BTW. I would like to add that foxes can howl too. Howling is the one iconic vocalization of wolves. Dogs can do it it too. Foxes do this too, but thier voices are much higher. They sound like a car alarm. The song has a part that goes "Ooooh". The video interprest this as the mating call. I think it sounds like the howl. Wolves howl in order to communicate and locate other wolves long distance. It helps with keeping the pack together. Contrary to popular brlief, wolves don't howl at the moon on purpose. That would be stupid, even for an animal. Maybe dogs and foxes howl for the same reason as wolves.
So this scenario did pop up for me in highschool when this video and the song first came out in like 2014 and I was about to be like "well actual-" and immediately got shut down with a "STFU" .
