I’ve personally found a lot of success with Giovanni in this deck. That +10 makes it so you can one-shot a Mewtwo EX and makes it so much more consistent against that threat. I don’t run Sabrina’s for the space. Just haven’t found I needed it. Other tech options: one Articuno if you want space for something else. Also, Lapras instead of Articuno if you want a 1-prize wall (run 1 or 2 based off previous statement). But yeah, this deck has been really reliable for me too!
Yeah I have been running Lapris as well for a wall, and it can even do some decent damage if you get a bad draw. Being able to drop 90(100 w/Gio) is nothing to sneeze at if get stuck fishing for a Gyarados EX

I only have one Pidgeot ex I refuse to pay money to this game. It honestly should be frowned upon to spend over a hundred on a game and still not be able to play against the whales. The rest suffer because people will always be there to pay more and more!
I actually prefer regular gyarados over the ex, so far the ex has discarded his own energy every single time I use him while regular one discards from the opponent every time, I wish his ability would be to discard from any other pokemon other than himself but at last it isnt so he just keeps discarding his own energy like a dummy.

Try out Starmie Ex + Lumineon and MI Vaporeon as support. The 3 stage 1 take little setup and Vaporeon can just shuffle energies but best part is Lumi also has 0 retreat cost. Star hits hard up front and Lumi takes the backline for setup decks. I've hit 2 unsuspecting Snivy/Servines cause of the quick swaps that just result in a concede.

I play gyarados with drudd stall style with one leaf for free retreat, misty heads if hit is a bonus but man the 20 damage hit from attacking drudd helps to one shot mewtwo and pidgeot ex + gio
It took me 6 tries to beat the Gyrados EX deck in solo mode with Pikachu EX. He's just too thick and he one shots literally every lightning pokemon and Lightning has nothing that can one shot him except a high roll on Zapdos EX.
Know the feeling but me with Blaine. I misplayed 1 game where they had no bench and all i had to do was use Blaine and win but i didn't then the guy got 5, 7, 5 heads with Misty. Eventually got through it. Fighting Celebi with Ground was tough to the point where i Autoed without looking and Marowak won for me.

Yep, made a similar deck on my own last night after digging through my first card pulls on the new pack and the biggest setback was when people shut down karp early. I think running double Karp one Gary could fix that issue though because the rest of the deck is tanky enough to stall for the second Karp pull if the first dies early
42 packs, all I wanted was just a Gyarados Ex...got just an Aerodactyl ex that's the most useless ex among them all. Rates seems shit this time, at least for me
Can you try a weezing scolipede deck,it’s not the best out there but it’s fun to use and doesn’t need a lot of energy so u can set up quickly bring a meowth and 2 kogas.
Deck idea - could this work? Druddigon as tank and than the bench destroyer Volcarona + Greninja and maybe flutes to bring in low HP pokemon and kill them again with 80 + 20 dmg
If you use Gyarados’s attack but none of your pokémon have energy on them, is the attack’s effect guaranteed to only target ur opponents pokémon with energy?
Wait not me making a similar deck last night on my own and then seeing this today 😅😂 I have the chewtle line as a backup tank to get my exs online, I have vape, arti ex and Gary ex. Single leaf double misty, one blue just in case Karp gets stuck alone on the field without room to evolve before death and some potions/profs to pad the tanks to help wait on pulls. Adding the chewtle line has helped the early game of this deck feel safer because without it I was losing a lot either by losing karp early from bad pulls or starting with arti ex and just losing 2 points and being behind before I can get online
Holy shit! I’m now a Gyarados EX believer! I think it outdoes Starmie EX now that leaf is in the game. Sure, free retreat and base 90 hit for 2 water energy is busted but this seems like a legit upgrade since even a full powered Pikachu ex can only do 120 damage max to Gyarados (90 + 20 from weakness + 10 from Giovanni) which leaves Starmie Ex with only 10 hp and not enough to kill pika if it’s second and leaves Gyarados with 60 hp still (a freaking tank!) with enough power to revenge kill with OHKO whether first or second! Gyarados EX for the win

Great deck. I love that new Evee is a highroll machine, in of itself. I've seen it take out big Pokemon in one hit. It's the perfect card to start with, as you can actually get some kills with it, too.

Nice deck! At this min [14:59], I think you made a small misplay. If you had moved all the energies to Articuno and then used Sabrina, you could have knocked out that Mewtwo on the bench and applied a lot more pressure. Even if he misplays and, for some reason, brings out Ralts before moving anything to Articuno (using the mindset that sacrificing a one-prize Pokémon is better than a two-prize Pokémon), that would be a rookie move, of course. But hey, it could happen! Even in that case, you would still win instantly. Let me know what you think about that variation in the play so I can understand if I’m correct or why you made that choice instead.

I tried both of them, it works with starmie, not with articuno, because it has 2 retreat cost, you can't use the vaporeon power in a consistant way if every time you swap you need Leaf. Unfortunately the best option remains vaporeon-starmie-artucuno.
im gunna say it... gyarados EX was a disappointment. its ability is worse than base gyarados, BUT it does have better stats at least. It's also not any more viable than the base gyarados either.

I used booster packs and gotten EX Mew, EX Aero and that EX Pokémon where you can flip coins for the amount of energy you have.

The Pikachu player should have used Zebstrika to pick off Magikarp on the bench. This is 100% bulletproof way of stopping the deck.

Ran this deck essentially, had 2 ex gyrados and 1 normal in the deck incase I didn’t wanna give up 2pts, one of the best decisions I made
I don't wanna start with Eevee so I replaced 1 with X Speed for that extra energy saver. I only need 1 Vaporeon out.

You need at least 1 Giovanni to counter Mewtwo ex. Put him in for a Sabrina/Misty
