First day of operation on the new Tram extension in Piraeus with the Alstom Citadis X05! [4K 60 FPS]

Finally! After so many years of delays the new extension of the tram network in the city of Piraeus has finally opened for the public! With 12 new stops in 5.4 km of new single track, people can now use the Tram to get in and out of the city but also for inner city travel.
The dense urban environment goes hand in hand with the new Alstom Citadis X05, which makes itself quite visible in the grey urban theme with it's bright orange color!
For the first day, there were more passengers than i expected and i am hopeful than in the future more and more will use the tram for their daily commute!

They really are! Give a nicer feeling in the grey looking, full of concrete city! And a nice upgrade over all from the previous generation of trams that are still operating in the city :)

Why should you take this tram i dont get it. If you are at the port of pireaus you better can take the elecrtiko..

you take the tram to go anywhere from faliro to voula... Not everyone wants to go from pireus to athens.

@@nr5012 now this is possible without a transfer, in a single trip and accessible to more neighborhoods of Piraeus instead of only near the metro station at the port.

if you want to go to old faliro or Voula Alimos you can go with 1 tram instead of changing to syntagma from line 3 to line 2

πολυ καλη ιδεα ειναι το Tram διοτι για να φτασεις απ τον πειρεα εως την βουλα με αυτοκινητο η Λεωφορειο εχει τρελη κινηση
