Shining Tribe Tarot - New Edition

My review of The Shining Tribe Tarot by Rachel Pollack pub. Weiser Books 2024.
The Shining Tribe Tarot was previously published in 2001 by Llewellyn Publications. This Weiser Books edition includes colour corrections to the card art as directed by Rachel Pollack and five new cards not available in the previous edition as bonus cards.
The accompanying book has been revised and expanded and, for the first time, is printed in full colour.
The Shining Tribe Tarot cards are steeped in symbolism drawn from culturally diverse systems including Neolithic rock art, Native American and African shamanism, Aboriginal art, the Kabbalah, Jungian psychology, and the traditional Tarot.
The accompanying book includes detailed descriptions of the origin and history of the symbols depicted on each card of this unique deck, as well as explanations of their meanings in divinatory spreads. The minor arcana is focused in nature, with the suits represented by stones, rivers, trees, and birds.
This is a 78 card deck with 5 extra bonus cards created after the completion of the deck.
Contained in the 78 cards are included cards inspired by the Dreamtime stories of the Australian Aborigines. These five cards are : The Lovers - Red Angel Dreaming
7 of Trees - In Country Dreaming
Knower of Rivers - Deep Water Dreaming
5 of Birds - Mud Body Dreaming
Gift of Stones - Gift Mother Dreaming

I feel like this deck speaks your name all over it!!! I never heard of this deck and it is super interesting. Like another commenter mentioned, there is an influence of The Goddess Movement, at least superficially, in my opinion.

Thank you for sharing the journey of this deck and RP's work. Does RP mention whether/how she was influenced by Marija Gimbutas? I mean, clearly the Empress exhibits a European Goddess, just curious ... I would like to get RP's book on the Goddess; didn't know she had one but that does tend to make me think that she was likely part of (in some way) the Goddess movement. The artwork is not appealing to me BUT I may get the deck because of its energies. Again, much appreciate this.

Yes, Marija Gimbutas is mentioned in The Body of the Goddess book and the Empress card of the deck is a clear representation.
