No problem. Did you get some of the free specimens left at the front gate from an American site? I noticed some small Quartz crystals in the Calcite once I got home, acid time!

@@OffTheBeatenPathCrystals yeah I was there with you at the boxes, we left at the same time., I did take home a specimen from both boxes. I will have to take a closer look at them. :)

@@OffTheBeatenPathCrystals Yeah. Sometimes it gets difficult to get these stuff in one piece no matter how willingly you want them in a single piece 😄 Nevertheless, you got some great ones for display.

Wow what amazing fluorite crystals, no way, so big. Great day, beautiful finds. Do you find any fossils in the limestone? Awesome area, love the limestone boulders, I've only ever seen and searched through crushed limestone. Which I find quartz, calcite and mica.

Not much fossil wise at this quarry, I hear the Hungry Hollow quarry is great for fossils.

That rock looks just like the rock in Herkimer, NY where we find Herkimer Diamonds. We do find white small chunks of Calcite but the Herks are the real finds - the different areas around the County yield slightly different shapes, colors and quality of the crystals - I just wonder what the difference is in the make up between the area your in and the area I'm in as the rock material looks the same- what is different about the environment that caused them to produce the different crystals. There are videos on YT from serious researchers that think SOME crystals/rock are actually biological material that has transitioned into crystal due to sudden severe environment changes that most likely would have happened due an event that was cataclysmic - it is possible, its all chemistry.

Hi 👋 I just came across your comment and ironically I have been looking to connect with someone who can mine Herimers and might have enough to share. I’m working on some projects and the herk would be perfect for it. Would you ever trade for a bundle of herks for another type of rock? That is if you have enough to share. About 29 years ago, I bought a 1 ton weight collection of rocks lol and I have not stopped hunting and collecting. So I have a large variety of crystals, minerals, and fossils to trade with. I also make custom jewelry using the rocks and I’m an artist. So I have numerous treasures to trade with if you would consider. I look forward to hearing back from you!
