If it doesn’t work go to settings and system, then go to console info. After that go to reset console. (Warning your going to have to enter your email and password)When your done entering your info everything will work again

the xbox will not let you play any game that requires an online connection while downloading an update, full game downloads and or anything else that might be pending for an update or download. the xbox limits bandwith to games to download things faster. sometimes you can get a game working but once you do it will usually set any download to pending and or ready for an update. hope this helps you all out in the future, I recommend taking a full day off from gaming every Tuesday (American time) and Wednesday (Australian time) for any and all downloads and updates to complete.
If this doesnt work for you try, signing in on another account if that works, then you can remove the account with the problem from the xbox and then put it back on the xbox. This is what worked for me.

Worked! Confirmed: 8:59pm 9/02/2020 My WiFi went out so I used my phones hotspot and the next day I tried to play I got that message. I was still on my hotspot (phone hotspot was off) I reconnected to my home WiFi and still didn’t work. I turned it off via button and waited it to completely power down. Unplugged it for two seconds or so. Rep lugged it. Pressed the button. The Xbox one x previews pop up and it starts rebooting again. I launched battle realm and the game loaded normally! Fix for me: I found that if I took the Xbox and plugged it into a different power outlet and turned it on over there, it’d work. I’d then bring it back to where I was playing and it’d continue to work when it was back set up. Hope this is clear and helps people!

If you have an external hdd and the game you're playing is on there... transfer ALL games to your hdd and then only have the games you play frequently on your local xb hdd. It will not do the error on the Xbox games.... tested for about 5 hrs. Once I loaded a game to the Xbox hdd it worked.
I accidentally turned my Xbox on, so I switched it off. Turns out that it was updating when I turned it off. I installed the update which took unusually long. When it was finished, my Xbox was being really slow and choppy. I tried to play Battlefield 1 when the error popped up. It was doing it for all my games and apps. I kept restarting the Xbox and it still didn't work. I did this and when it turned back on, it stayed on the green loading menu for 5 minutes then just went on to a black screen.

another possible fix for this type of error would be a basic hard reset, this worked for me However before you do that remove your account from the xbox one first, then hard reset and download your profile from xbox live once again, this will force it to be no associated games with your account running and will fully clear the cache, this worked for me and may help if a basic hard reset is not working for you (this generally happens when you do not shut down games and apps properly from time to time).

Another temp fix for individual games is clearing reserve space and relaunching if this dosen't work. Ik ik i'm super late to this party but still
It is doing this for all of my games now After playing fallout 4 And my game crashing, I have constantly reset the Xbox multiple times already And tried this method a few times I can't sign out of my account because I don't remember the passwords to get back in I feel like my Xbox is just broken now And I'm not gonna be able to use it.
I haven't signed out of my accounts completely And I don't intend on completely removing them off my Xbox because I won't be able to get back into them But restarting it hasn't helped yet and I'm getting sick of this because Now none of my games are working.
Every one of them is giving me that error about taking too long to load And no matter how many times I restart the Xbox, it isn't fixing it because that's the method I've been using to fix it And maybe I've done that too many times or something, but I'm just not sure.
this did not work. tried doing it several times. unplugged the console from the power cord..unplugged the hdmi..waited even overnight on the last try. same error code whenever I tried to load anything. even went drastic and did a factory reset. now it will sometimes run apps but not games at all, disc or not. its frustrating af
I've done everything I could. Restarted, unplugged, clearing space, nothing will open. I should've gotten a PlayStation
