This is awesome Cyarin! I am absolutely useless when it comes to Instagram and taking pictures of my art for it. I've never used that app before either so I'll be sure to check it out!
Um, I don't think asking for followers is a good idea... You can attract followers by time, be patient~! By the way I checked out your Insta, your drawings are cute! But still need improvement. Just keep it up, draw and post consistently!
I'm reluctant to do some of the things you did on this video because sometimes I think my sketch looks better on the picture than in real life and feel like a cheater. Does anyone else feel like this sometimes? Not saying that it is actually cheating.
I was thinking the same way while watching that so i dont add filters, but my drawings look so ugly on the phone 😂😂 I have drawn a fan art of Scorose and sent its photo to my friend, then i gifted it to her and she said: " It looks so much better than the photo! " So... Use filters which will make your drawing look exactly the same with the original one...
+Enrique Z Just edit it so it looks more like your drawing in real life. Don't overdue it, just increase the light and contrast + the small changes that Cyarine did, to make it look like how your drawing really looks like in real life :)
And even if the picture does look better then the sketch you took the time to edit it, it's still your work. People edit pictures to make them look better, it's a skill and using it doesn't mean anything about your art 🙃
If you're having problems getting an angle or you want the flat perspective, I've found the app CamScanner to be very useful. I don't know if it's available outside the US, but it's free and it has a really smart editing function that can alter the perspective of an art piece without altering the original image. It saves to PDF native in the program, but it exports to normal image formats and can be moved to the normal gallery without much issue. Just another option for peeps with smartphones.
When you've got a good camera, good lighting, and a good drawing but then you drew it on a composition notebook and it keeps getting blown by the wind while you're trying to take a picture.
+Karin Lundin Good luck! I've been getting requests for it so I'm glad there's more who like it hahaa.. some people might find the tips obvious but I thought I'd share them anyway!
Hi, thanks for the tips! Knew a lot of it already, but many people probably don't! The app looks very useful, so I'm going to try it out! Now I can easily put my signature if I forget to manually draw it on my drawings :D I just want to say that you are extremely skilled in both drawing and how to use the internet/media to display your work! You're one of my best inspirations, and you've helped me developing my art style as well! Thank you for being such an amazing and inspirational artist! Greetings from Norway ;P
thank you so much! I've always used scanners because I just assumed it was the only way to go - thank you for showing me another (probably better) way!!
I love how your videos are so useful and also original! I didn't think much about this subject before, but now that I see your video I realise how incredibly useful it is!
@The Mighty Starbrand dude, get off your fucking high-horse man. It not a new thing that people wanted to find shortcuts for things that they have a problem on. Shortcut is literally finding the easiest or easier way that makes the same amount of work. Humans evolved through making shortcuts. Making multiple cars or other vehicles in a short span of time? Construct a factory. Connect to multiple people around the globe? Invent the Internet. Having the first man-made object to launch into space? Build a rocket. And many, many, more. And, in a sense, everyday art things are also shortcuts from days of the past that are otherwise not achievable at that time, like the paint bucket tool, or line tool even. And lastly but most importantly, there's nothing, i repeat, NOTHING wrong with asking an artist or artists you admire or look up to for some art advice. Imitation is the most sincere way of flattery, after all
@The Mighty Starbrand anatomy is also about technique. experts know the human body and can teach people about how to draw each body part. stop over analyzing things.
Oooh, those features in the line camera app look super useful! Normally, I either don't edit, or use the built-in editing tools in the photos app on the phone. Thanks for the phone editing ideas!
Great post! Little tip, the point of the blue pencil is so it won't be detected by cameras or copiers. Allowing the artists to sketch without the need to erase after inking.
thank you so much, this is really helpful! i rarely edit my photos so when i want to do so the most i'd do is just pick the filter and that's it. i have no idea what to do with the other stuff but your video shed some enlightenment on me lol so thanks a lot!
I was really looking for some tips like that... I get so frustrated 'cause my art look so much better in real life than on photos and scanning DESTROYS it cmpletely... I have no idea why. But this helps a lot thanks!
You dont have to post in square mode on instagram anymore. So you can just take a normal photo. Also, the point of sketching in blue or red is so when you go over the sketch in pencil the color sketch will disappear to our eyes, another reason is that animators like to use blue or red because when the sketch is used digitally the blue sketch lines will disappear completely. Useful tip if you do want those lines visible
Just like with photos what you get as a result is defined by your setting. It might also be a question of the resolution of your scanner if you loose details. But in the end it counts what makes you happy. :) ... and I don't know if you explored the full potential of your scanner, so I can't say if in your case a scanner would have been the better option or not.
Hi Cyarin so I'm a beginning artist (not much experience at all) and looking at all this cool digital art on youtube, I really wanna give it a try. I have a few questions: 1. Is it ok to go into digital art without a whole lot of experience in traditional mediums? 2. What tablet would you recommend for a beginner that isn't too expensive? 3. Where did you learn to draw people? They look really nice but if you could recommend a specific book or something that would be helpful. Thx so much and keep up the fabulous work! :D
I find it useful to correct my proportions when i take a picture of my drawings :D it just shows me how other people would look at it and find small flaws :)
Hi, Cyarin! Thanks for sharing the tips and tricks. I've been struggling with photographing my artworks for IG, maybe my problem has been with the saturation. ^_^
I feel the same about scanning! Some rough fine lines (specially in graphite) get lost and the piece doesn't look the same as in the sketchbook. Also, taking pictures is a lot faster ;)
Hey Cyarin ! Thanks so much for the tips ! Sometimes I struggle so much with this ! Taking pictures of my drawings for Instagram XD I always try to find some app to improve what Instagram can offer but it's not that easy, espacially when you're not on Iphones :/ Can't wait to see more of your art ♥ take care !
haha I also had line camera cause of line play! I was addicted to that game now I haven't logged in for a year... 😂 I recently removed the camera app now I'm thinking I should get it back. Sweet tips!
That moment when you got good lighting, nice clean workplace....

+Zimi Draws Fan Art That's why editing it is important :)
+Enrique Z Just edit it so it looks more like your drawing in real life. Don't overdue it, just increase the light and contrast + the small changes that Cyarine did, to make it look like how your drawing really looks like in real life :)
+ina1994 Yeah, i was tryimg to explain the same thing 😂😂
thanks to my "perfect" English...
And even if the picture does look better then the sketch you took the time to edit it, it's still your work. People edit pictures to make them look better, it's a skill and using it doesn't mean anything about your art 🙃
i love how cyarine has as screen backround(english...?) a piece of art made by nikki
I think you'd phrase it like this:
"I love how cyarine has a phone background of a piece made by nikki"
yes
thanks!
Or wallpaper. You can call it wallpaper too :)
Step 1: take picture
Step 2: use Instagram filter
Step 3: post
Art Chemist same :/
I always do that 😂😂😂😂
Literally me
Me but I mess a bit with the contrast and light an shadow and all that stuff
Same

+Cindy MCAJ! I'm glad to hear it is!
I wish she still uploaded videos. Like.. maybe in clip paint studio giving tutorials or speaking about her life or concepts..

+Karin Lundin Good luck! I've been getting requests for it so I'm glad there's more who like it hahaa.. some people might find the tips obvious but I thought I'd share them anyway!

Hello! hi!
can you teach us about anatomy?
Nashor yea! I need some help with anatomy with my drawings
@The Mighty Starbrand its just a request, damn. What's wrong with YOU?
@The Mighty Starbrand dude, get off your fucking high-horse man. It not a new thing that people wanted to find shortcuts for things that they have a problem on. The Mighty Starbrand If you think learning anatomy won’t help them improve, you have brain damage. There’s a reason art schools teach it to students.
@The Mighty Starbrand anatomy is also about technique. experts know the human body and can teach people about how to draw each body part. stop over analyzing things.
I'm really happy I came across your channel months ago... You're one of my biggest inspirations right now
THANK YOU SM! The pictures on my Instagram are terrible😅 I really needed this!
I didn't know you had a RUclips account!

This is very helpful. Thank you 😊 Also congrats on 500k on Instagram!🎉🎈🎉🎈🎉
I'm no artist, and I will never do this, but it is captivating to watch! I'm a new subbie; I came over from Tokidoki Traveler.
Great tutorial! As an artist who often wants to put their stuff on Instagram, I really needed this!
you have such an adorably bubbly personality, cant wait to try out some of these tricks some day!
I've been needing them for so long
Oooh, those features in the line camera app look super useful!

Wonderful tips you've given here. I love to use the Aviary app along with Square InstaPic, both are as wonderful as the ones you use. 😄

Hi Cyarin so I'm a beginning artist (not much experience at all) and looking at all this cool digital art on youtube, I really wanna give it a try. I have a few questions: 1. Where did you learn to draw people? They look really nice but if you could recommend a specific book or something that would be helpful. Thx so much and keep up the fabulous work! :D
+Just_A_Girl oh and one more thing, do you draw your sketches digitally or do you draw them on paper and scan them in?
Thank you for the app recommendation, Snapseed is exactly what I need!
I am not that skilled at digital art so I have to take pictures of the artworks I do and this vid was super helpful, thanks! ;3
I find it useful to correct my proportions when i take a picture of my drawings :D it just shows me how other people would look at it and find small flaws :)
Beautiful work! Thank you for sharing.

I love your art so much
The lighting tips really helped, thanks ^~^
Hi, Cyarin! Thanks for sharing the tips and tricks. I've been struggling with photographing my artworks for IG, maybe my problem has been with the saturation. ^_^

(Are you dutch?, cause I think you kinda sound Dutch..😊)
Pleun van Kol yeah she is (╯3╰)
I feel the same about scanning! Some rough fine lines (specially in graphite) get lost and the piece doesn't look the same as in the sketchbook. Also, taking pictures is a lot faster ;)

Could you do a step by step skin painting tutorial, where you go through the different brushes & layers? 🤓
even if you want a flat view of the sketch, there are plenty apps that can "fix" your picture's perspective by detecting things like the paper's edges
The music is so inspirational
This is what i need! Thank you so much x
i love your voice! it's so cute oml
After almost six minutes of video I realized it was Cyarin, I almost screamed
Someone hacked into my Instagram and made me seem all depressed once. Then my mum came and woke me up asking all about it.
That sounds like some stress for ya
Duh..
How to take pictures of detailed sketches? Can someone please suggest me .
haha I also had line camera cause of line play! I was addicted to that game now I haven't logged in for a year... 😂 I recently removed the camera app now I'm thinking I should get it back. Sweet tips!
Thanks! This being an older video, do you still use the same app for editing?
Oh man, is your background art from artofvio? That is ADORABLE!!!!! (Spectacular art by the way!)
Great video, it helped me a lot! Thank you.
Nice tutorial ! But I need to ask one question :
Why does ig lowers the quality of my post ?
Thank you +Cyarin I was looking for a tips 😄😊
Thank you so much! this is really really helpful
