    Hi. Thank you for your hard work. I have a question. I used your video to root my pixel 4xl and worked great. I didn't update the March update yet and today I see there is an April update. My question is do I have to do the March update and then the April or can I go straight to the April update? I don't want to screw anything up. I'm used to a OnePlus. I have a rooted Pixel 2 XL, but I didn't receive the June update using the system update setting. It keeps showing up to date. I rarely get those notifications to be honest. I only get them during the developer previews/betas, or right after a factory reset.
      You shouldn't need to have anything special done, but then again, why aren't we getting those updates via the system updater...

    • @MaowDroid
      @MaowDroid  4 года назад

      What kind of modules did you have? It could be something form there that's causing it to bootloop.
      Magisk recently had added to it Safe Mode detection: github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/commit/a5d7c41d209527fe7b45a2ef7d031add9b6fad24
      I'm not sure if that feature made it to 20.4, so you might have to use the Canary builds to patch the stock boot.img to ensure we have that feature. Flash the newly patched img and then boot your phone into safe mode.
      Apparently you can do that by holding Vol. Down when the boot up animation starts, so I presume after the orange bootloader unlocked warning screen.
      support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/2852139?hl=en
      See if that helps! Although I'd try booting without doing the safe mode business first if you do try the canary builds of Magisk.

      I had some moudles like viper for Android and one that can systemlessly replace your emojis. But I think that I had them the last month too. The new module was one by smali patcher.

    • @MaowDroid
      @MaowDroid  4 года назад

      I think so, the ADB command requires your phone to stay on long enough for it to do it. I'd give it a go because its not invasive at all and it'll be quick to find out if it works. Give it a few goes in case it didn't boot into safe mode.
      Otherwise you'd be left to try one more method before wiping your phone (to get rid of all the modules).
