I appreciate that!
No one “ review-shops” like you Crystal!!. I am so so happy to come along for the ride. Just like old times. ❤❤❤😊
Sooooooo True 🥰
💯
I like the burgundy and blue for the accents to use with the granny square yarns. I would have chosen the same - my Walmart is just like yours.
The red
Crystal: "I don't like this stuff."
Also Crystal: Brings home 27 skeins
🤣🤣🤣 I don't know what happened
Lol.. right. The yarn jumped into her cart to go home with her. Its happened to me before.
🤣🤣🤣
Crystal what do you think the "Matrix" would look like with the granny yarn?? 🤔❤️
Dead 🤣🤣🤣 I wanted to get this!!!! I’m glad u are reviewing this first!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ love your channel btw love from Kentucky🍀✨😇
If my local Walmart had a yarn aisle like that, it would be an improvement. They literally have 3 small shelves of yarn. 1 for Red Heart Super Saver, 1 for Mainstay yarn, and 1 for mandala ombré. And each shelf has between 3 and 4 different colors. That’s it. I live in a yarn wasteland.
so sad...sounds like that store does not really cater for it's crafting community..
Ditto!
Our Joanns is 3 blocks from our Walmart. And another 3 blocks from my house. Nice walk.
Lucky you ❤
I live 10 minutes drive from 2 Michael's (in opposite directions), 7 minutes from JoAnns and one Hobby Lobby, 5 minutes from another Hobby Lobby, and 15 minutes/30 minutes/35 minutes from 3 Walmarts. VERY bad for my crafting budget!
i'd be in such trouble!!
Michael's Arts and Crafts across the street and about two miles south from my home 😊. Had I lived next to Joann's I would be one very happily thin well dressed person😊. As for the person who lives next door 🚪 to Joann's I do envy💚 you with pea 💚greenest envy 😊.
Hi from France! We don’t have stores like Walmart with so much yarns! We have specialized yarn stores but nothing with so many mandalas!! I have to buy my yarn on line.
Have a sweet day 😘🌺🫶🏽
Same for me in the UK. Ours is more expensive too 😢
Aye I'm in Scotland and my mind is blown. Imagine going to the shop for bread, eggs and a pint of milk and coming out with yarn, lining fabric and a new set of hooks. 🤯
@@thepickledpixie9052 😂😂😂 👍
@@thepickledpixie9052 you can do this in France but we don’t have that amount of yarn in it. Just yarn for amigurumi -skein of 25g- or some low grade acrylic. We have craft/ garden… stores but again not with that amount of beautiful yarn. Mandalas are not a thing here 🥺. You can find some in specialized stores but the price is 😫
Wishing you a sweet sunny weekend 😘🌺
@thepickledpixie9052 the only place that one can see a selection of yarns is hobbycraft, even my store has down sized and not much to choose from in store
Crystal,
I remember the Red Heart Butterfly. I came across one skein, partially worked while I was cleaning. I wasn't sure what I was making but knew the color was discontinued. I searched high and low and couldnt find any.
I was going through my stash and lo and behold, I found a Butterfly stash, enough for a project!
The Lord works in mysterious ways! If I can figure out how to get a pic to you, I will.
You made my night as well as my days.
Love and health to you and the family.
JoAnne
The dark red is absolutely perfect to go with your variegated yarn xx
I agree
My Walmart in Canada doesn’t have much for yarn either. And I agree that the granny square yarn is too frustrating to make granny squares with. I don’t want to tighten or loosen my stitches to make it work. I think the fabrics for the bags will look really good.
That red yarn SCREAMS Mr Roger’s cardigan!!!
Who is Mr Roger's
Mr Roger’s Neighborhood
@@stitchingrealms is that a American show ?? Because i live in the uk thanks for answering much appreciated ❤️
@@JulieEvans-lj9poIt used to be back in the 70’s and 80’s

I am temporarily in NYC taking care of my mom and they don't have a Walmart anywhere in NYC. But I will say your Walmart is the cleanest Walmart I've seen.
We have Michael’s which is hit or miss. The closest Joann’s is in middle NJ. I order online.
I hope your Mom will be ok.
How can that be? 🙀
@@socgrrrl There's a JoAnn's in Westbury, NY (L.I.)
@@socgrrrl thank you. Unfortunately she's in the end stages of Altzheimers and cannot be alone.
@@Joy-TheLazyCatLady2 that's what I said when I got here.
Hey Crystal, you ARE doing it-
Idea for the bag yarn...a take off on a Victorian crazy quilt: pick a stitch, work that stitch until the color runs out, switch to a different stitch, even a different direction until that color runs out. Play with entrlac, mosaic, stretch stitches (forgot the name) where you insert rows below,
Play. Start new shapes wherever you choose. Sew together even overlapping pieces!
What do you think?
By the way, Evelyn's current fave colors, bright pink and orange has a 1960s Mod vibe. I salute her!
Spike stitches I think
@@janhill2079Yes, thank you!
That sounds awesome!! I get bored and stuck. I love the idea of changing stitches when the color runs out. Thanks so much!!!
I am in the process of crocheting a white & mint blanket. My next project is to make a canvas bag.
My Walmart didn’t have half as much yarn as yours. Your Walmart is paradise.😮
It makes my heart happy whenever I open RUclips and see you there holding up yarn, or sporting a new beanie, or showcasing a new project, or getting ready to open a new mystery pack, etc. Your enthusiasm for all things yarn is contagious.
PS....get those plaques hung BOD. We're all so very proud of you. 😊
I wish I was shopping with you. At my Canadian Walmart has hardly any yarn. Ty for showing the different yarn😀
The yarn section in my local Walmart is very pitiful. It's not even half the length of that and it's barely stocked. And I never knew the pioneer woman put out a yarn line. I don't think it ever made it to my local Walmart.
Glad to see someone else that doesn’t care for granny squares. I’m happy that there’s something that can be done with that yarn because the colors are nice.
Love to see how you’re going to make it work! The fabrics are fun with their respective yarns. Good times! 🦋
Never thought of putting the granny square yarn as a variegated. Thanks so much for that idea. You always inspire me in some way.
Like the black and greys with that print for the lining
You, my friend are unstoppable. Nobody can make you stop until you're ready to stop. I look forward to the bag tutorial! Those are my favorite.
Ooo... I like the colors you chose for the granny square yarn. I'm a rebel... lol... I like to put unique colors together. Stay with burgundy!
I bought the granny square yarn and was surprised how much I liked it… made my granddaughter a purse❤️ and looks fabulous!
My walmart is about the same. I think the burgundy gonna look great with it!! You chose great soilds for all of them honestly. I made a quilt with that rose fabric you was like "oh that's pretty I wish I can sew" ❤
My Walmart has 1/4 the yarn that yours does.
That red will look great on the all in one granny yarn!
Hope you're having an amazing day!!! Trish
The fabrics for all the linings are great for the yarns. You and your did
a good job on matching them up. That will all keep you busy for a little bit!!
My gosh! I absolutely love going shopping with you! So much fun!! It’s great to see how your creative mind works ❤
My Walmart pales in comparison to yours Crystal. The Red Heart yarn you bought reminds me of the corn people hang on their doors in the Autumn. The white, orange and pink yarn is beautiful! The fabric you picked matches so nicely. I can’t wait to see the bags you design! You say you aren’t good with colors-I think you do great! I love everything you chose!
I’m glad that you were courageous enough to buy all of the granny square yarn! I bought the dark plum, lavender, crimson, coral, pink, granny color, and have made granny squares out of it. I got 15! I’m just thrilled to see someone with more courage than me try them all out. Can’t wait to see what they turn out like for you!
I think the red will set it off beautifully! The blue's & solid is so nice together too!!
Loving the new Bag O Day hats! I love it when you take us on a road trip with you!
I actually like the red color the best, love your tutorials !! I've only been crocheting for about 6 months and your my go to person for learning new stitches, so thank you for what you do!!
I LOVE THE YARNS YOU CHOSE PLUS THE FABRICS. I THINK THEY'RE PERFECT TOGETHER. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! PRETTY EASY TO FOLLOW. THANK YOU.
I watched somebody on RUclips use that granny square yarn Three different ways and corner to corner looked the best. 😊🧶💚
Hi Crystal, I can’t wait to see what you’re making. Thanks for taking me shopping with y’all. Watching.
I love all liners for the bags, I think the one for the newspaper is dead on. I’m not a fan of black liners in my bags bcuz everything gets lost in the black hole.
It’s funny you spoke abt making a bucket hat, only this morning I said I hope you make a bucket hat bcuz my teenage niece keeps asking for one.
Have a good night my friend.
The burgundy is nice for the border. Love the navy also, perfect match.
It worked out for me. The purple, turquoise, and white one was very easy to do with it
i just finished making a poncho with the red heart warm wheat and it is gorgeous, i'm going to get more of that color again, didn't make granny squares either, but it took 2 balls of the yarn to complete. i'm 5'9 and drapes my body fairly nice, though my mom always love what make and she wears the items i make so much better than i do, she's 5'4 ,thanks for the tutorials, you've helped broaden my love for crochet😀
Oh boy I do wish we had stores in the UK like you have in the States, for yarn and the choice of weights and colours. Love your videos Crystal and listening to your extensive knowledge and advice, keep them coming, thank you and bless you ❤
I made a Mobius shawl, cocoon shrug, and fingerless gloves out of the granny square yarn they turned out pretty. I wore the shrug to church and a lot of the ladies loved it
I love the flower material liner for the pretty pink colored granny square yarn. For some reason I love patterns like that matched together. I can’t wait to see the bags you make with the yarns. I’ve never made a bag.
Our Walmart always have the same colors, yarn brand & yes the same price. No granny square yarn though & it doesn’t seem like they’re going to get it. But I can’t help myself to go look in the section😂
If you're looking for the granny square, make sure to check the end caps, I don't think it's gonna be part of the normal set.
I like the color combinations you got. I think the red would be a great pop with the granny square and I love the lily pad with navy. Looking forward to seeing it used in something other than granny squares. Thanks for taking us shopping with you! 😊
I love the navy with the Lilypad! The citrus twist is pretty too! I love the fabric you picked for it.
Too!
Thanks. Your honesty and experience with yarn speaks volumes to me. ❤
Our Walmarts are worse. Yep, I grabbed a bunch of PW's yarn for $3. I hadn't been to Walmart in a while but was checking to see if they had the Itty Bitty Stripes.
Love the colors, I would love to see the finished projects. The red border will work better than the white. Love your talent.
Thank you for taking us shopping with you at Walmart
I love the liners with the yarn. You do not "suck" at matching. Good ideas by the handful in this video. Thanks
I LIKE THE BURGUNDY COLOR. I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE CHOSEN THE SAME! ACCENTUATE THE LITTLE BIT OF RED/BURGUNDY IN THE BALL. 👍
I was literally searching on RUclips for crochet bag tutorials and then I went to watch your video today as I got a notification and I'm so happy that you're going to be doing some bags!!! Can't wait!! 😁😁
And if you don't like the new ones, she has over 200 bag tutorials on her channel! Just search for "bag-o-day crochet bags," and you'll get to the playlist.
@karylmonaco8174 Yes! I've made quite a few of Crystal's bags already, love them!
Excited to see how the bags will turn out.
Cant get the RH granny yarn for anything less than AUD$25 per ball here in Australia... luckily though some mill ends of this yarn came through in discount bags. Managed to grab 8 bags for AUD$44... woohoo, lol.
Like you am not using to make granny squares.
Oh wow, I did this too with the mill ends bags! At first I wasn't realising that these random colours I was being drawn to were actually the same colours as the all in one granny yarn but then as I saw more and more pop up and then started to see what those colours of the yarn balls were I realised they were the same and it couldn't be a coincidence either, marvelous!!
Which colour blends did you get? I'd love to get the one that was green/blue/white/cream but haven't seen a replica of that one yet, still searching. :)
@@alwayslearning9272 I got the one with shades of blue and a cream/white. Love a discount lol
@@ByHookorbyNeedles Absolutely! The cheapest I've seen the mill ends packs for is $6 each, so that's a much cheaper way to get it and a bigger quantity too!
I got several of the brown/tan/cream colour blend, one pack of that with the blue added in and then two of the newspaper colours, so lovely! I haven't seen as many around lately so am grateful to have been able to get the ones that I did, but hope they have some of the others soon!
I don't like the brighter/gawdier ones as much but at least they seem to have a good amount to choose from, when they're well stocked!
I think you are about to have a blast exploring the different ideas you have! I am excited to try crocheting the awesome results! Happy Creating everyone!❤
I so love that you are going "out of your box" with these yarns and projects! I'm also excited to see the items you make and to go stash busting in my yarn closet to make them too. Go Crystal! Ready for summer crocheting!!!!!
Oh for the blanket, I would do the creamy color for border , then the reddish one for outer border!
The lining materials you chose works great with both of the bags. Can't wait to see how they look together.
I can’t wait to see the the black and white pattern. All your ideas sound neat! Be safe ❤️
I like the burgundy and the blue. I wish we had a store or stores in South Africa that carries more yarns. Oure stores only have a tiny section that covers yarn. We have to go to specialist stores and they are all very expensive. I love your ideas ❤
I think that you did a great job picking out the liners for the bags. Spot on!
I’ve been out of the loop , congratulations 🥳 on your reaching one million subscribers !! You have worked so hard Crystal!!😘❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
I miss your ride alongside, thanks for taking us! I love your taste of yarns! ❤❤❤
Crystal? I wish I could have your creative mind! You do have a way of making things work together. Please show us your projects when your finish 🙏🏻
I really like the lining fabric you found. I never can find ones I like. After seeing the yarns you have given me inspiration. Thank you.
I like what you picked out. I think it’s less about “matching” and more about what compliments. It looks really nice.
Yes to the red for the border! Beautiful selection of yarn and fabric.
We’re lucky here in Australia, our supermarkets sell canvas shopping bags with a rope handle for about $3AUD, saves having to line the crochet bags or squares. Love to watch your tutorials, learnt just so much, Thankyou.
Your liner game is on point! I absolutely love the vibrant orange with that orange striped yarn!
The red is totally the right choice with the warm wheat!
Don't doubt yourself, you are amazing, and I am amazed that you write your amazing patterns without being good at reading others.
With amigurumi, you want to wrap under the hook to avoid gaping stitches as this uses less yarn.
You could crochet i-cords and use them to encase rope or paracord for stability.
I'm currently knitting and crocheting a bag using the granny square yarn in soft white amethyst. The knit sections have an i-cord edge that I will fill with paracord and will make the strap with paracord filled i-cords that will be braided together.
Have an amazing day!
that bold variegated. red/blue/green/orange and so forth..I got a bag of that in a mill ends bag down here in Australia a few years back..I finally made use of it..I made an open hat (that can also be worn as a cowl) matching fingerless mitts and leg warmers..I wore them to the Alice Springs beanie festival last June..they went nicely with a tunic top that was tie dyed in similar colours..Alice Springs is the Red center of the Northern Territory..
I like the lining choices for your bags. Anxious to see what you do with the short stripes too.
Love that warm weather. Our Walmart has one isle of yarn and it's just part way down, that's it.
I have been loving mixing all kinds of crazy striped, variegated, ombre and flecked yarn into scrap granny square blankets. It’s fun when your aesthetic changes and you get to explore things you never paid attention to before. ❤
I have the granny square yarn. I have used it for corner to corner for a 16" pillow. Turned out wonderful. I also make sold granny squares with it. Almost works out! I just love the colors. All the colors.
Hi Crystal, you have such great ideas and I love the color way you choose and Rose picks too and the colors do go together enough to pass, I missed your live but wanted to congratulate you on your million, you absolutely deserve it all 🙂😊thank you for all of your tutorials you teach so well
The liners are adorable! Whatever you make, it will be great!!
I like all the colors you picked. And the fabric was a nice addition. I hope you show us the finished bags.
After the first few skeins, I became obsessed with granny square yarn & now have every color. Not for squares, but for making scarves and hats with different patterns. The ones I've liked the most are regular and moss stitch C2C. Really makes some interesting layouts! My Walmarts suck, too.
I love that you're putting the granny square yarn to a different use!! The lily pad and blue is going to make a beautiful top! And the red with the wheat.....I think its gonna make it pop!! The bright,,orange, hot pink, white.. it will be so cute, but woul also make a cute tank top for Evelyn!! Can't wait to see what you do!! Love it!!❤
the pink an blue busy bag is all me my fav combo going on there love it
I love the lining you chose with the birds and flowers on it!! This was a fun video! I’m ready to run out and shop for yarn and lining! I also love the citrus choices!!
Oh my goodness! I LOVE the granny square all in one yarn! I’ve used so much of it and was so excited to find it at Walmart!
Crystal I would hold out for brown or use the white BUT I’m not working with it, you are. Go with whatever makes YOU happy. Love, love, love the blue you chose to complement the green. It’s beautiful! Thanks for the video.
Great shopping video! We all feel the same disappointment in our Walmart aisles, sadly- but sometimes we have to make it work! Would love to see tutorials on lining bags as I have one to do- and maybe try a bunch of different stitches like C2C, shell, etc with the granny stripe yarn to see how it works up? No one knows more stitches than you and I haven't seen anyone do that. Thanks for taking us shopping with you! You rock!!
I agree with you about the granny square yarn. I can't get it to match up either. But it's in pretty colors and I grabbed some to make blankets.
Crystal I love your new BAG-O-DAY hat's.
My Walmart never has much yarn and the shelves are always a mess.
Crystal I think you did well at matching fabric for the inside of the bags you planning to make💕
I can't wait to see what you make! So excited.
I love the warm wheat color. So pretty hope you’re having a good evening.❤
My Walmart in Canada really sucks. Rarely stocked, rarely any sales. But I did buy enough red and white yarn to make your matrix blanket in these colors. I have never tried mosaic crocheting. So far I made the first 16 rows and it looks great. Thanks for being such a great teacher . You said I could do it and so I am.
I love love love the liner fabrics!! So cute! Busy is ok cuz it’s inside and don’t really show!
I'm excited to see the bags you make. What a great idea!
I like your color choices and combos for your bags. You don’t suck at it. I wish for you that all the adoration our community has for you would lift up your confidence. I think you are pretty great.
Ty Crystal ❤love to go on shopping trips with you and have missed it. My Walmart has always sucked but its gotten worse 😮 y’all have got 10times more ❤ Ty for all you do much love to you and yours
I’m not a granny square person so I would do the same as you, make a blanket or a bag with it. I like your idea for using all 3 of the colors for your blanket. I look forward to seeing how your projects turn out. 🧶💜🙏🏻
I LOVE all your bag liner choices! Looking forward to all the tutorials you have planned! ❤😊
Scotland here, I'd be like a wean in a sweet shop with that selection! Wow! So you can pick up groceries, yarn and favric in the one shop?! We have wee independent yarn shops but I have to order most of my stuff online. I'm so jealous that you have Wallmarts, Joanne's and Michaels all offering big selections of yarn. It really helps to get to see and touch it in person.
I've never seen the Red Heart butterfly.
I like everything you picked. They all match well! Looking forward to seeing all of your creations!🤗 Just watching this has thrown so many more ideas into my already cluttered head🤪 but, I love it and love you!🥰 Evelyn Rose did a great job matching the fabric to the yarn 🤗💖
Wishing you a beautiful day and weekend!🙏🏻🤗💖
That was fun! When you were shopping, I thought the gold or white were the best choices to match the gold granny yarn, but that red is is perfect! I love that combination. I think you did a great job matching the yarns and the linings. I like the idea of a white handle for the last bag you mentioned instead of a crochet handle because of the stretching. These are going to be so cute!
Love the liners you chose for the bags!
I stopped in my Walmart in the notions aisle last night and they had clearanced a bunch of items. I needed darning needles. Got a pack for $1! I also grabbed a few other variations of needle packs for a buck or fifty cents, and I grabbed a 120ft tape measurer for a dollar. 👍💙🧡💛
I love it when you do store trip and I missed antique shops trips or garage sale too. Since its spring could you do some of that for people who can't go out❤❤ i really appreciate it ❤ you're the best 😗💟
You did well on the bag color liners❤
I'm a quilter and I made scrappy planned quilts. These will work!
I LOVE the flower and bird fabric with yarn. It's a beautiful combination.
I think all your combinations are beautiful!
