Yeah out of all of the classic ones like SC, and the ever beloved C&C (..until cnc4..), AOE has truly stood the test of time, which includes business moves, community growth, and qol improvements for the users. Just the best RTS devs out there
Many years ago, my high school medieval history teacher told us that Frederick Barbarossa died in battle during the 3rd crusade. Thanks to your campaign, I could correct her and say that he drowned in a river in Anatolia instead. It's just a small anecdote but it shows that AoE is more than (pretty freaking great) entertainment. Thank you devs for everything and long live this game ❤
I must seriously thank you guys. All these games, their original versions were my childhood. My love for History and with it my love for Epic storys probably would not exist, if not for these games. My sincerest thanks for remastering them in such a magnificent way. Staying true to the original, and yet bringing some fresh wind into them. Onto more adventures!
A big thanks to you and your devoted team! The care that has gone into this game is reflected by just how popular it remains and how amazing its community is (both professional and amateur). At 42 I'm still enjoying the same video game I was addicted to at 17! GG
Started playing this game when i was 7. Now that i am 23, still feels like yesterday i was playing the Montezuma campaign. Please never stop Ageing. (11)
it been 22 years now but thank you Dad for that CD that contain a bunch of demos and one of them was 1 mission of Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome, i played that mission for hundred of hours
You've got a great ensemble of passionate people there! Thanks for the great products! Fun Fact: Ensemble Studios closed 15 years ago. And 30 years ago it was founded. They must be proud of this lovely community - from its devs to the players!
Thank you Age Of devs! I've been playing these games for over 20 years. I've never seen a community quite like the Age Of community. Capture going from grass roots to professionals is just one of many successful story arcs related to age of empires. The story of this game is just amazing. From MSN gaming zone, to voobly; the renaissance this franchise has experienced is a truly special, heartwarming thing. I am grateful to have been along for the ride even just as a player. This franchise is very special to me. Here's to another 5 years of DE and beyond.🥳🎉
I remember when I purchased a local PC newspaper 25 years ago which contained the demo version of Aoe2. That was also the year when our family bought the first PC too. I was 13 then. And now 1-2 weeks ago I showed the game to my 7 year old son - just for a couple of minutes but he started the training campaign. With all new the DLCs it is like a new game. I I love how the campaigns, historical names and events connect to each other and we see different angles of the initial Aoe2 Campaigns now. Cheers to All history lovers! So thank you for the infinite hours of joy it caused to me in the last 25 years. Also thank you for keeping aoe2 live! Aoe3 was disappointing to me and I won’t purchase aoe4 either… but this one.. was made for eternity!
I wanted to say Age of Empires has fostered my love of history. In Mexico my cousin let me play the first one back in 2000. I was 5. Then i later picked up AOE2. And then finally AOE3. I love all the originals. And i love history.
My brother and I were introduced to AOE 2 as eight or nine year olds playing at lan parties at church. The AOE franchise has been such an important part of the past twenty years. Thanks for all the memories. Looking foreward to the future. P.S. I would love to see the Scythians as a playable civ.
Thanks for all the hard work you guys put into this all time classic game, given new life with the definitive edition! I loved Battle for Greece so can't wait to see what more you have in the works! Thanks and continue being awesome! 😎👍
You guys took a 20 year old game that was already in the halls of the greatest and managed to make it even better. You thank us for the support and the feeling is mutual. Now, can we have a penguin civ?
Thank you for that quarter of a century of amazing games! I still have that old CD of AoE3 I got in 2005. Today, I proudly look on my desktop at all the HD and DE collections of AoEI, II, III and AoM Retold. They have given me many passionate afterwork evenings. Thank you guys!
As a fan of AoE series wanna say thx a lot for all stuff. This game reminds me old good times when I was a kid and was playing various rts games. The definitive version gave second life for AoE and while playing on it I have same emotions as I had 20 years ago. I hope that your support will not stop, and this game will have new updates and much more for us - players
Such a lovely video :D I don't play AoE2 very much anymore, I've moved onto AoM retold and AoE4 but I will always buy your expansions etc as I absolutely love what you've done to RTS :)
Thank you to the devs that made this awesome and classical game. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see what's new for next year's for new contents.
Thanks for 25 years of AoE2. A nice surprise would be to fix the shift+click bug with groups of (siege) units that only do the first command. Please! On a side note, I bought Battle for Greece thinking I could play the new civs in unranked multiplayer, only to find out it's not possible, even though you specifically mentioned they wouldn't be playable in ranked(?).
il miglior strategico in assoluto, s toccano quasi 2000 anni di storia con tutti i Dlc ed è un piacere giocare e apprendere la Storia con voi, spero in nuovi contenuti sulla Storia Antica e medievali con nuove campagne!
A true success story! So much more than money. Friendship, support, inspiration, save haven, real competition and sportsmanship, fun and I can keep going. Thank you so so much!! Note: Diverse ranked maps, an easy way to connect/communicate ingame and a lower starting elo (or easy: 500, medium: 800 and advanced: 1000) would be huge, would be EPIC! Much love and a blessed christmas time ❤
Thank you, guys! Since original AOE II was already iconic and superhit, you, the new generation of AOE developers, somehow managed to achieve even more. Thats actually the most satisfying example of how games should be supported and can be improved over the years
Greetings from Serbia, a 32yo chick who plays Aoe2! :D I've bought crazy strong PC 2 months ago and I am still playing this game. Since I was a kid and watching older brother, until now... GG :)))
One of my childhood games ( and still one of my favourites ). Really appreciate the effort everyone at World's Edge, Tantalus Media, Forgotten Empires, Capture Age, Atomhawk and whoever else participated into developing content for this game, much love and appreciation from the bottom of my heart.
The Memories, i remember discovering it the demo back on the Grandfather computer. It's still one of my favorites games ever it's wonderful how it stood the test of time and i hope it will continue for a long time !
Thank you for keeping this alive and better than ever. We all appreciate it and continue to play it and enjoy it as much as you enjoy releasing more content and updates
Been playing aoe/aom since I was 7 years old helped me understand design and management so much. Not only that, aoe series is what turned me into a history nerd. Thank you for so many good memories.
Was introduced to Age of Empires way back when the internet was I. The Stone Age; the dark ages of 2011 were rough, but atleast we’re back in the imperial age with these remasters. Wouldn’t enjoy a series as good as this if not for dedicated people. My favorite DLC was Dawn of the Dukes for having such a lovely story much like the new grand campaign for the battle of Greece.
One of the best games of my life. I gave my heart to this game. I played from the beginning and bought all versions multiple times. For me, this game now feels like a second home. Keep up the good work.
i do not have a powerful computer to run DE rn, but the support given to the best rts is unparalleled in comparison to others in the industry. Thank you, community, for maintaining AOE2 alive during the Voobly days, and thanks FE for extending this masterpiece's lifetime.
Currently enjoying the NAC tournament. I love that the constant care you give for the game allow it to bridge the gap between generations and allthough i started playing 20 years ago, my kids now also want to play this. Thank you! ❤
They forgot to talk about one of the best parts that keeps the game and part of the community alive: Custom scenario and Diplomacy. They should support a dlc or game mode by drawing inspiration or recruiting the likes of Invictus, Crusader Blade, Goku, Oniricul/Andi, Neptune, Superdomedome, Mariano, LuciferDaGod, Deroman... and many others. Cause they work on a bunch of maps really nice. They have all their own style and hard work in the game. This deserves a little more attention from the developers I think.
You've made a legendary game, that resist the test of time. Thank you for give history a way to learn with joy and friends...Age of Empires, the MVP of RTS 😎😎😎😎😎
I still have all the Age of Empires, Age of Kings and The Conquerors and Mythologies cds in perfect working order that I still play on my 2011 HP laptop. Regardless, thank you for the past 5 years of the Definitive Edition of DLCs that I have only played most of them only once through, but have yet to play the old campaigns from Age of Kings and The Conquerors in Definitive Edition on the PC as life keeps getting in the way and the X Box version is just too much fun.
In March 2020, we started a Friday night gaming group for a bunch of us at work in response to the pandemic. The games had to be inexpensive and run on everyone's systems. I think in our second or third week, we picked this game and since then, we play it most Fridays in the second half of the night after some sort of FPS. Thank you for providing us with this game that has provided us with so many hours of entertainment.
What amazes me the most about AoE is how perfectly designed and balanced it was already 20 years ago to become what it is now, especially regarding competitive PvP games, which it wasn't actually a thing back then. They were 20 years ahead.
Would also love more Co-op campaigns. Not necessarily campaigns designed for two separate civ players but ones where you can have two people control the same civ within the campaign.
This is how you support a game.
Sad aoe3 noises 😢
@@Fobius sad Blizzard noises
@@BelialTnTn For me its sad EA noises
But you know, without Red Bull there wouldn't be any major tournaments. Microsoft could give away a couple hundred thousand in the budget for it.
Sad Pathing noises
The Greatest RTS that has stood the test of time
@@shadowelite7 Even StarCraft 2 lost while AoE 2 still with us.
Truly a wonder of the world.
Yeah out of all of the classic ones like SC, and the ever beloved C&C (..until cnc4..), AOE has truly stood the test of time, which includes business moves, community growth, and qol improvements for the users. Just the best RTS devs out there

Most unhinged cut for a corporate campaign, LOL!
"Beware the Race Kara-Khitai"
Mmm... venison.

Thank you both for playing and we are thrilled that Age can keep you two connected!
I hope Chronicles sold well, the campaign was heaps of fun. Would love to see Alexander or the Roman invasions as sequels

agreed, it was an excellent experience. I will gladly buy more chronicles entries
