The poem as an inspiration is an eye opener for me in designing a theme. Thank you for always finding ways to make Slow Stitch a more exciting way to sew. Take care. 🌸tess
❤❤ Love how you added those gorgeous beads in a basket for blackberries. 😊😊 Look at all the yummies you are working with to make the vines on your stitchery. So nice for that company to share/recycling the little bits so not thrown away. 😊😊😊😊
O this is so beautiful Christine - eye candy! Love the story of the wedding dress remnants - your little jar of beading is a complete treasure! Thank you so much for sharing. Very inspiring - sincerely, Kate 😊❤❤
Many thanks Kate - I love that we both have our little collections of treasures sitting near our crafting spaces so we can dip into them as we create. I love the way yours are nests of inspiration. Cheers, Christine
Your stitching is beautiful Christine, thank you. Watching you battle with those French knots made my hands hurt🫨😫😂 👏🏼. Perseverance won the day 👏🏼🤗. Those pics at the end are so lovely. 🌻🦋
Thank you dear Giusi - I love the little basket and that it holds such an old piece of embellishment preserving and honouring it. Hope you have a beautiful weekend. Cheers, Christine
It’s Tuesday afternoon here I’m not crafting at the moment just chilling watching other people sewing on RUclips. Also to be honest I’ve still not started mine . Yours is looking lovely TFS xxxx
Just wanted to pop in and say how much I love this piece it is so different from anything I've seen you do or anyone thank you for sharing that with us it just gives us so many ideas I know like many of you all out there watching this that I have collected these type of things all my life and I'm so happy to be using them God is good have a lovely rest of your day
Aww so pretty. Love how the wool yarn works up on berries. Lovely watch. Aww those birds so beautiful. Your dogs looked gorgeous with the light rays behind.
This is going to be awesome. I love the beaded blackberries and the beautiful vine-like beaded piece. I’ve put my stitching down for a few days so I can make a junk journal for a friend’s birthday. She will get that along with a slow stitch and beaded pouch I’ve made for her. P.S. Travers is a very lucky dog. He sees more new places than me!
What a lovely gift for your friend - I am sure they will be thrilled. Really happy to be finishing this piece. I suspect Travers thinks all dogs live a life full of adventure and their own private catering department (aka me). Cheers, Christine
Hahaha! There’s something really special about how the stitches make the layers of fabric cone together as though they are a single piece of fabric. Cheers, Christine
Hi Christine your vessel is going to be so lovely just a hint I always use nymo beading thread for any beads I sew on pieces as it is a lot stronger than normal thread and seems to work better for me and you can get it in different colours as well.looking forward to seeing the finished piece,as always you always come up with something special out of the box..
Christine 😮😮😮! This is looking amazing! It's a feast for our eyes. I had never heard of that poem before so had to look it up. You are depicting it so well! I also had never heard of a beading triangle in all my years of working with beads. I'm gonna have to keep my eyes open for one of those. Is that your backyard the first pictures with the really colorful birs are? I am still amazed that y'all have all those beautifully colorful birds just flying around and here in the states the most colorful birds are kept in cages. It's really sad if you think about it. That mist shot was a great one along with the others. Are you using a camera or the camera from your phone? The pictures and videos are always so good! Thanks for another mini virtual vacation and have a great day tomorrow. TFS 😊
Thanks Kim - I’m really happy you’ve discovered Mary’s poetry. She is such an evocative writer. Can’t believe I didn’t know about a beading triangle either until recently and thanks to a lovely commenter. My photos are usually just with my iPhone - rarely with my camera. And the parrots were in the backyard until travers and I scared them away when we went outside 😆 Hope your week has been kind to you xx
This isn’t to do with sewing, but had to tell you that I made a chicken casserole today, and sent a photo of it to my friend (I was so proud 😂) and she said she was having a roast chicken dinner tonight. So chicken seems like a popular Monday meal 😁 great video 👍🤗🇬🇧
