Strongest asset is his bat. His a well above average defender with an above average arm that plays better with his accuracy. His baserunning is elite, even when he doesnt attempt a ton of steals, he makes the right play all the time on the paths, plus hes jets fast. But his bat... top 5 hitter of all time. Ruth, Gehrig, Bonds, Williams, Trout.

Sometimes these specific player videos can be misleading. They only show highlights and exclude all of the flaws, making the players seem better than they are. This one does not. Mike Trout is every bit as good as he appears to be in this video. This video might even be underselling him. Mike Trout can be summed up in one example: In 2014, he had career lows in almost every major statistic and still was the unanimous AL MVP that year.

The home team will always bat second in the inning, so you can tell what team is home based off of the arrow next to the inning number if it’s the top(first half) or bottom (second half) of the inning and which team is batting

By the time he retires, Mike Trout may be the GREATEST baseball player ever. If he could just win one World Series (or even make it to the damn playoffs) it would end up solidifying his position as one of the best ever. To put into perspective, he is just 28 and could retire right now and still be a Hall of Famer. By some metrics, he's already had a better career than dozens of players that are already in the HoF. It's just a shame he's been wasted on a sorry Angels franchise that has given him little help.

Mike Trout is considered the best player in the game today by most baseball fans. There are different "Tools" a player can have. That is to say there are different things a player can do well in a game. A player can be good at getting on base, good at hitting home runs, good at making defensive plays, good at throwing runners out, and good at base running. A player who can do all five of these things is what's called a "Five-tool player". I would say that Mike Trout is the only real five-tool player in the game today. That's why he's a three-time AL MVP.
The stadium is Angels Park in Anaheim, California.

When he first came up (as a 19 year old) he was only a 4 tool player (which is still exceptional), but he’s since developed his arm from below average to very above average. He’s widely considered the best in our generation and arguably the greatest of all time, or at least on pace to be so. He’s broken all kinds of records for the youngest to accumulate x statistics.

Just a little baseball trivia for what it’s worth. The home team tends to wear white, and they usually either have their logo or their nickname across their jersey. The away team generally will wear grey with the name of their city across their shirt. This stems back well over 100 years, as back then it let the home fans know what city the opponent was from, given the lack of communications and media at the time.

He is what is called a 5 tool player. He hits for a good batting average, hits for power (home runs), he has speed, he is really good at fielding, and he has a great arm.

He’s finished in the top 2 of MVP voting every year of his career, except one because of an injury (and he still finished 4th), and has won it 3 times. You could make a pretty good argument that he should’ve won it 5 or 6 times. He’s easily the best player in the game right now and he’s on track to be the best all time. He’s just now entering his prime and he’s not slowing down. His worst season by far was in 2014, he still won MVP that year. That’s how good he is.

He's undoubtedly the best player in the MLB right now and has been since he was 22 or 23. He might be the GOAT by the time he retires. Barry Bonds has the most home runs in MLB history with 762, Trout has 285 right now with obviously a long way to go.

Mind you Trout does all of this off of sheer talent. He’s not a steroid user and is still the best to ever play the game. He’s not really and “expert” at any one particular part of his game, because he’s just a freaking legend at literally everything baseball. Honestly he could probably transition to being a pitcher and throw a freaking perfect game in his debut on the mound he’s so talented

#suggestion Good sample of players to react to, one from each position
Start with Kershaw, search for "Made the Cut"
    Dual use: Shohei Ohtani
    P - Clayton Kershaw
C - Jeff Mathis (Foolish Baseball)
    1B - Pete Alonso
    2B - José Altuve
    3B - Nolan Arenado
    SS - Andrelton Simmons
    OF - Giancarlo Stanton
    OF - Mookie Betts
    OF - Byron Buxton
There's so many great players not on that list, and most of those guys aren't even the best at their position. But it shows a lot of variety

Most home runs is Barry Bonds, with around 770 career home runs. Active leader is Trout's teammate Albert Pujols who has just over 600. Trout is 29 years old I think
Best home run hitters currently are Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge, both of the Yankees. They're injured all the time so they play like 5 games per year.

You can always tell who the home team is at a baseball game, home uniforms are usually white (not always but most of the time) while teams on the road usually wear grey (again not always but most of the time) also the home jerseys usually say the teams name on the front while the away jerseys usually say the name of the city they are from. There are of course exceptions but not many.

  • @artistical88
    @artistical88 4 года назад

General baseball hints: find out which team is at home by their uniforms. Typically a gray uni means the team is on the road. Also the home team is listed second on the scoreboard and always bats second.

The crazy thing about that video is how many of those home rubs were crushed off of different pitch types and speeds, frequently in really good locations at the edge of the strike zone. Most home run hitters swing huge and guess a lot, really only cover certain zones of the plate and generally have a lower batting average as a result. Trout looks like he is only swinging about 90% power. Another thing that doesn’t show up in this video is his ungodly plate discipline. If you throw him bad pitches, he doesn’t get himself out, he just works a walk 100ish times a year.
And that is entirely separate from being a gold glove defender at one of the most demanding positions
